Note: This chapter is back to Lilith's POV
Pathetic people don't deserve to love or live.
As I reach Dan's room, I open the wooden door and see him sitting on the bed, staring out of the window."Miss me, Dan?"His blue eyes meet my dominant brown ones."No, I didn't," his voice sounds colder than usual. I sit down on the chair and lean forward."Did something happen? You sound different.""I'm bored.""Didn't Mika visit you today?""She did, along with Lila and Liam.""Then what's the matter?" I ask, looking up at the ceiling."I told you, I'm bored.""You're always bored, but it's the first time you sound like this.""Forget about me. Are you going to the picnic?""I mean, it's not like I have a choice.""Right." As I feel the conversation slowly die, I immediately look at him."Do you like the sun?""No, I prefer the moon.""Why? The moon doesn't shine as brightly as the sun.""But when the moon shines, it gives people peace and comfort."
My gaze shifts from him to the ceiling. I had nothing to say. He was right. I love to kill under the moonlight because it makes me feel calm and peaceful.
"We should head out now. They must be waiting for us.""I won't go to the picnic.""Oh yes you are. Hurry up and change—I'll be waiting for you in front of your room."
Before he can say anything further, I leave his room and close the door behind me.
I walk toward the window across from his room. Cherry blossom trees are everywhere. It's like they're haunting me, trying to remind me of something I'm trying to forget—something that doesn't even belong in my memories.
I turn my head and look at Hellen, who just arrived. She's smiling as always, her hazel-brown hair tied up in a ponytail.
