The anniversary was just a day away and Damon was restless with so many thoughts running through his mind.
He didn't know whether to believe that the anniversary was going to be alright or keep on hoping that things turn out for the better.
Damon thought within himself if it is proper to bring Ava and her son to the anniversary.
He knew that Ethan will definitely burn the roof down if he laid eyes on Ava wrapped in his arms. He smiled within himself as this is perhaps a great way to get back at his step brother finally for all these years that he had cost him from assuming position as leader of the Corporate group.
"Hey" Damon entered the kitchen having being drawn to the aroma of the food that Ava is Christopher.
"Hi" she replied without turning to look at him.
"What are you making?" Damon asked as he wrapped his arms around Ava's waist with the latter finding it comforting. She had grew fond of Damon in recent times regardless of the behavior she put on against him, she will always be grateful to him for letting her stay.
"Spaghetti" she announced with a smile. Damon had that thing ladies got attracted to and Ava couldn't point it out.
She couldn't say it is the looks for Ethan is ten times hotter but he is just who he is. She still had feelings for Ethan but she doubt if he will still have her in mind after all this years of staying apart. Ava is sure that Ethan had moved on and definitely found himself a suitable bride.
She still felt that pang of jealousy within her heart at the thought of seeing Ethan with another woman.
"So I need to tell you something" Damon causal tone had changed into a serious one causing Ava to stop what she is doing to look up and urged him to continue.
"Every year, we usually celebrate the Holmes's anniversary where all members of the Holmes will have to be present. This year's own is slated to hold tomorrow and I want you to come with me" Damon said.
"Every year you say?" Ava asked.
"Yes"
"Why now though? Why did you choose to take me to the anniversary this year? Clearly we had been together for two and a half year now so why now?" Ava questioned.
"Will you rather prefer to see Ethan those years" Damon asked.
"Still doesn't change the fact that I won't see him this year" Ava replied.
"Are you going with me or not" Car isn't in the mood for arguments with her as she is a quick witty woman.
"I will think about it and give you feedback in the evening" Ava indicated "Just go to the dinning and wait while I serve you the hot spaghetti" she added. Damon smiled and pecked her on the cheek before heading out to the dinning table.

After Lunch, Damon went out of the house leaving Ava to the dishes that he had used in eating; while she is doing the dishes, she thought of the event tomorrow.
One of the things that bothered her is the possibility of seeing Ethan and things possibly going wrong between the both of them.
One fact which her mind kept referring to as she thought of the possibility of things going wrong is Ethan.
She is aware that Ethan will be at the event but it will not be appropriate showing up to disrupt the blissful event with her presence.
She will not want the entire family coming down heavily on her about being a nuisance every time she is given the opportunity to hang out with them.
She thought about it carefully, it is not going to be easy trying to resist Ethan's advances as she as a matter of fact, she still love the man regardless of what he had done.
After a careful review of the entire situation, Ava decided that nothing will stop her from missing the event and not even the presence of Ethan.
She had decided to go because of her son who she believed is part of the family and needed to have a feel of what it feels like to be home.
Later that evening, Damon is back home; he is still restless about knowing Ava's decision and waited for her to give an answer as he scrolled through his phone in his room.
After some times, he got bored and decided to go and check on them and possibly have the conversation.
"I did not know you are back" Ava said,upon seeing Damon come into her room while she is having a mother child time with her son.
"I understand. So how is the baby doing?" he asked, bending down to grab the baby from her and holding him tight. He planted a kiss on his forehead.
"He is doing great. He has a teething problem."
Ava had complained about the teething issue that her baby has been having for the weeks and Damon ordered a doctor to come visit them and check on the baby.
"So have you decided yet?" Damon finally asked the dreaded question.
"Yes, I will be going with you to the anniversary" Ava announced, a smile showing up on her face.
Damon also smile in excitement. He knew it is a hard decision for her to make but she had made the right choice.
"And what about the problem with Ethan, what do you intend to do?" He questioned.
"I am not going because of Ethan. We are together and that is more important." She said with a frown on her face.
Damon sighed, he knew that he had pressed a button but it was the right call to atleast know where she stands on the situation.
He was glad that she had given him a positive response.
Damon cast his mind to how the meeting was going to look. One thing was certain, there was going to be chaos but he was ready for whatever antics that Ethan tries to bring to the table.
