Chapter 125 - Chapter 123: Holy Spirit Yuhao, Activated!

Elder Yi sighed, feeling both comforted and worried as he said, "Sigh, since you're determined, Yuhao, this old man has nothing else to say. But, Yuhao, let me remind you. 'Undead Descent' will split off a portion of your soul. While it won't cause any substantial harm, if the soul inhabiting the undead body is damaged or destroyed, then your own soul will forever be incomplete. It will seriously affect your spiritual power, and recovery will be a long, difficult process. Your mental strength will be greatly diminished for that entire period."

"Are you sure you want to go through with this, Yuhao?"

Huo Yuhao thought it over for a moment, then nodded without hesitation, "I'm sure, Elder Yi. In fact, I think the risks and costs are already minimal compared to what I need to accomplish."

The Skydream Iceworm, Ice Empress, and Snow Empress inside Huo Yuhao's spiritual sea all fell silent. None of them objected. Just like he said, the risk was already very low.

"Alright then, this old man won't be sentimental. Let's first find you a suitable undead body for your descent. In this undead half-plane of mine, I've collected nearly every type of undead creature."

Huo Yuhao nodded thoughtfully and began walking toward the region where undead creatures gathered. As soon as they sensed him, the undead instinctively tried to flee. But Huo Yuhao calmly said, "Kneel."

His voice was soft, but it carried the aura of the Necromancer Divine Law God. Every undead creature in the entire area felt the oppressive power and immediately obeyed the absolute command.

The scene before Huo Yuhao was quite the sight—countless undead of various forms all knelt in unison. Even the bone dragons in the sky landed and lowered their heads. From a distance, it looked like a sea of undead bowing in waves.

Satisfied with the silence, Huo Yuhao walked among them.

Elder Yi began introducing the creatures, "These are the most basic types—zombies, skeletons, and the like. Using your world's soul ranks, they wouldn't even be considered level ten Soul Masters. Useless. Maybe there are some mutated variants with strength between Soul Grandmaster and Soul Ancestor, but they're still not ideal for your descent."

Huo Yuhao nodded and continued walking toward those that seemed a bit different.

"These ones are acceptable. 'Dead Mage' types—they possess undead magic. Their strength ranges from three to seven soul rings. It's best if the undead body's strength matches your spiritual level, otherwise it'll be difficult to control. With simulated magic, a Dead Mage is actually a pretty suitable vessel."

Elder Yi suggested. Huo Yuhao observed several kneeling figures—rotting but intelligent undead dressed in tattered robes and holding twisted staves. He considered them for a moment before turning away.

"Hmm… Let's keep looking, Elder Yi."

"Alright."

Thus began a long, undead-themed lecture.

"That's a Lich. Similar to a Dead Mage, but they lean more toward ice-based magic. Honestly, I don't even know how my world's other magical systems would play out here. Maybe similar to necromancy."

"That one's a Death Knight. Strong build, armor stripped from living warriors, a giant sword infused with death energy, and a loyal eight-legged mount. Probably around Soul Emperor level. But not suitable for you."

"A Ripper—agile and fast. Their small blades can slice through almost anything. Around Soul Ancestor level at best."

"A Corpse Collector—like summoners. They command hordes of weaker undead. Not strong themselves, but great for large-scale undead disasters."

The deeper he went, the more powerful and unique the undead grew.

"Soul Devourers. They use high-powered undead spells and grow stronger by devouring souls. They start weak, but their potential is nearly limitless. Unfortunately, they're often hunted down before growing powerful."

"..."

Elder Yi continued his introductions. Huo Yuhao just nodded along. 'Still not better than the Dead Mage,' he thought.

"Now for the main event—Embodied Death Gods. They aren't actual gods, but they're the apex of undead beings. Even stronger than the bone dragons. I'm not sure if any in this realm have reached Title Douluo level."

Before him hovered a black-robed figure holding a scythe. Beneath the hood was a void of utter darkness. The aura it gave off was so intense that Huo Yuhao even felt a chill.

But he shook his head. 'Too strong. I can't control that with my current spiritual power.'

Just as he turned to walk back toward the Dead Mages, Elder Yi frowned suddenly and said, "Yuhao, wait. I just noticed something strange. Take me over there."

Huo Yuhao followed the indicated direction, puzzled. What he saw was an ordinary-looking skeleton—except for the faint golden glow in its eye sockets and the shattered gray crown in its hand.

"A Death Sovereign… and Eclipse," Elder Yi muttered in disbelief.

Huo Yuhao noticed something strange immediately. 'Wait... I gave a kneel command to all undead. Why is this one sitting?'

"Elder Yi, what's going on?"

"I thought it was just a legend," Elder Yi began explaining. "In my old world, there was a myth of an undead species called Death Sovereigns. They didn't start as powerful creatures—they were simply skeletons, but born with human-level intelligence."

"Through endless slaughter of other undead, these intelligent skeletons could eventually evolve into Death Sovereigns. From that moment on, they would rule all undead life."

"But no record ever documented their actual existence—only the conditions to become one. Many thought it was a scholar's fantasy."

He paused again to look at the golden glow and broken crown. "The crown and that light in its eyes—they match the symbols of a Death Sovereign. Eclipse is the legendary power associated with their race. It grants absolute dominion over life and death. Anything they pass, whether animal, plant, or even objects, is conceptually 'killed.'"

Huo Yuhao was silent. 'That sounds familiar somehow.'

"But if it's so powerful, why does this one look… worn down?'

Elder Yi shared his confusion. "It may have lost its will, surviving only on instinct as a ruler of the undead."

"Does that mean it didn't kneel because of pride?" Huo Yuhao asked.

"Likely," Elder Yi nodded.

"Do you think it's suitable as my vessel?"

"In terms of raw strength, it's in a weakened state—possibly fitting your level. But Death Sovereigns defy logic. I can't guarantee the descent will succeed. Still, with my protection, it's safe to try."

"Then let's begin, Elder Yi."

Huo Yuhao's eyes turned deep gray. Undead energy radiated from his body. The Death Sovereign's body shuddered.

He began chanting the complex incantation for Undead Descent. Two gray arrays lit up under him and the skeleton, wisps of gray energy swirling between them.

Elder Yi guarded his soul. The moment of soul splitting had come. Pain tore through Huo Yuhao's head, his face twisted in agony, but he gritted his teeth and continued the incantation.

Eventually, a small fragment of his soul split off and shot into the skeleton's body.

The golden glow in the Death Sovereign's eyes flared. Elder Yi stayed on high alert, ready to pull Yuhao's soul back if anything went wrong.

But nothing did. The glow dimmed, Huo Yuhao's aura stabilized, and the ritual arrays faded.

He rubbed his head and opened his eyes, still feeling sore.

Looking at the Death Sovereign, Huo Yuhao had a strange feeling. 'It's like I'm looking at another version of myself.'

"Yuhao, try moving it," Elder Yi said.

Huo Yuhao nodded. His dual-mind training paid off.

The Death Sovereign stood. At first awkward, it quickly adapted. Then Huo Yuhao used mimic magic to alter the body's appearance.

It transformed into a shadowy, pale imitation of Huo Yuhao—blue-tinted gray hair, misty gray eyes, and skin stretched over bone.

Huo Yuhao smiled faintly. "Holy Spirit Yuhao, activated."
