Chapter 122 - Chapter 120: The Auspicious Beast’s Disappearance

Star Dou Forest, Core Region — Lake of Life.

At this moment, the serene scenery of birdsong and flowers was gone. Instead, the sky loomed overhead in a terrifying blanket of thunder and lightning, dark as pitch. And beneath it, the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King — Di Tian — seethed with fury.

In his rage, Di Tian had reverted to his black dragon form, his massive body coiled in the sky, covering nearly the entire airspace above the Lake of Life. A piercing dragon roar rang out, his golden eyes shining with ancient and supreme majesty. Under his gaze, all the spirit beasts gathered around the lake — even the five great savage beasts, and those deeper within the forest who could feel his pressure — prostrated themselves, not daring to breathe too loudly.

Once all five savage beasts had arrived, Di Tian's thunderous roar echoed through the heavens.

"Where. Is. The. Auspicious. Beast?"

He spat out each word with a growl.

Yes — as he said, the Auspicious Beast, who had been peacefully resting near the Lake of Life, had suddenly disappeared. The entire Star Dou Forest could no longer sense her presence. The moment Di Tian emerged from his own seclusion and discovered this, he was consumed by wrath.

Fortunately, Di Tian could still sense the vitality of the Auspicious Beast. She was still alive — there was no doubt about that.

"Hmph! So none of you know either!? I may have been in seclusion, but you weren't!"

"Please calm your anger, Lord Beast God. It was our negligence. But right now, the most urgent task is to join our power and divine the Auspicious Beast's current location."

The youngest of the five, the Hell Demon Dragon Zi Ji, stepped forward to apologize. As one of the two Dragon Kings among the Ten Great Savage Beasts, she was the most appropriate to plead forgiveness from Di Tian, whose cultivation far exceeded hers.

Di Tian took a breath and managed to calm down slightly. His massive black form shimmered, and he reverted to his humanoid form — three meters tall, with golden hair cascading down his back and a face both striking and stern. Walking on the surface of the Lake of Life as if it were solid ground, he slowly moved toward the shore. As he did, the dark clouds in the sky gradually dispersed, revealing clear blue once more.

Stepping onto land, he stopped before the five savage beasts, all kneeling on one knee in human form with their heads bowed. Only then did Di Tian speak.

"The Demon Empress is right. This was my oversight. You may rise."

The five slowly stood in silence. After enduring the overwhelming pressure of an eighty-thousand-year savage beast in full wrath, even someone as proud as Bear King dared not defy him.

But in calmer times like this, without the strict hierarchy of the human world, there wasn't much distinction between the six.

"Di Tian, can you confirm the Auspicious Beast's current safety?"

One of the savage beasts — a stunning woman with long, emerald green hair that resembled the Goddess of Life — asked with concern.

Di Tian nodded.

"I can. For now, at least, her life force remains strong. In fact, it has increased — perhaps she gained further cultivation after awakening."

"Could it be that the little one slipped away again while no one was looking, just to see the outside world?"

Scarlet King scratched his head. As the personal bodyguard of the Auspicious Beast, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, he was familiar with her temperament.

Of course, since she had been in hibernation, he hadn't been on duty lately. Otherwise, Di Tian might have skinned him.

Hearing this, the other beasts fell into silence. Perhaps what Scarlet King said was true. There had been previous occasions when she tried to sneak out, only to be dragged back.

Di Tian sighed.

'That little one... It's not that we don't want her to go out, but the outside world is simply too dangerous. If she were to appear in her beast form—'

His gaze suddenly sharpened. A terrifying thought struck him.

'Could she have transformed into a human to explore the world?'

In ancient soul beast texts, it was recorded that the Auspicious Beast was unique. Regardless of cultivation level, they had one chance in their lifetime to take on human form. Though they retained the ability to revert once, any cultivation in human form would start from zero — and if they died, it would be true death.

"Begin the divination. Now!"

Di Tian's expression darkened.

He had to confirm her condition and location as soon as possible. If anything happened to her, it would be a true catastrophe for the entire Star Dou Forest.

Bi Ji, sensing his abrupt change in tone and the shadow over his face, didn't ask questions. As his long-time partner, she intuitively understood his urgency and immediately began the ritual.

"Everyone, lend me your strength."

Her voice rang clear as a bell. She closed her eyes and began weaving patterns with her hands in the air. Soon, a large six-pointed star formation formed on the ground in front of her.

The remaining five savage beasts took their positions at the other points of the star and channeled their soul power into the formation.

Soon, the star array glowed with dazzling green light—until suddenly, Bi Ji groaned and collapsed, the array shattering in a flash. She knelt weakly, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth — her essence blood.

Di Tian rushed forward and caught her before she could fall further. Frowning deeply, he looked down at her pained expression as she tried to open her dazed eyes.

Although the method Bi Ji had used could theoretically reveal anything she sought — a divination technique that bordered the divine — it also came with immense backlash depending on what she tried to perceive.

Even with her strength, she shouldn't have suffered such severe backlash just trying to divine the Auspicious Beast's location.

"Auspicious Beast... reverted to human form. Location unknown. Cannot be seen..."

She whispered the critical information to Di Tian before slipping into unconsciousness.

The others fell silent.

The Auspicious Beast's current state was now shrouded in mystery. That she had reverted to human form and her whereabouts were unknown was already a nightmare scenario. But what chilled them most were the final four words — "cannot be seen."

What in this world could possibly hide from the perception of beasts as powerful as them?

Di Tian's heart sank. A terrifying possibility began to form.

"...The situation is dire. But at least the Auspicious Beast is still safe. She still has a chance to return to her original form. Bear King, Scarlet King, Zi Ji, Ten Thousand Demon King — the four of you are to immediately spread out across the continent. Find her at all costs!"

His voice carried supreme authority. The four beasts bowed their heads.

"Yes, my lord."
