"Show me your martial soul." Jin Ho heard the stranger say to him. If it was someone else he would indeed be considered a stranger, but Jin Ho knew the man. He'd never met the man before but he remembered how the man wielded his staff ruthlessly, being one of the most powerful titled douluo he'd seen in the show.
His name still eluded Jin Ho but he remembered his title being fifteen ton douluo or something close to that. Coming back to the present situation, he couldn't have possibly received information that he had twin martial souls and full innate soul power. Or could he? 'Nope not possible' Jin Ho discarded the idea.
The man's martial soul was a staff whose full name he didn't remember but it was indeed a staff. And considering that he awakened a monkey and a staff as his martial souls, then the man might have sensed the staff's presence considering that Jin Ho already had an idea what that combination entailed as martial souls and how powerful they could become.
And if he what he suspected was true, then they were both top tier and his staff or more accurately Ruyi Jingu Bang probably attracted or was it resonated with the senior's martial soul.
So what did Jin Ho do in response to the order? He revealed his beast martial soul and even had the nerve to smile at Qian Jun. A slap to the back of his head had Jin Ho almost crashing on the floor.
"You have twin martial souls, that's good now show me your other martial soul." He said impassively not at all fazed by the child's ridiculous antics.
"Okay, okay, you don't have to be so harsh about it." Jin Ho replied as he steadied himself and summoned the staff. He too was eager to scrutinize it and see how it really looked like but he hadn't had the chance to do so since the awakening ceremony.
"Bang!" It heavily landed on the floor but other than the loud sound there was no damage done.
"Stop sending all your soul power into it all at once! Imagine your soul power as veins and cut off your connection with the larger veins leaving only the narrower ones to flow with soul power." Qian Jun said already judging the staff.
Jin Ho wasn't sure what he meant, but following his advice, it shrank becoming less cumbersome than before. The staff was banded with a gold ring at each of its ends and its body was pitch black with rune like engravings with one line in particular translating to the name "Compliant Golden-Hooped Staff," Jin Ho said directly understanding the meaning
"Hmm, what an interesting name and it's quality is definitely top class. Much better than that Clear Sky hammer that's been overrated in recent times. It's good that I found you before the woman received your information." Qian Jun murmured to himself as Jin Ho who had once again started imagining himself as the one equal to heaven and even destroing the heavens with a flick of Ruyi Jingu Bang didn't hear anything.
A jolt of spiritual power disrupted his day dreaming as the last thing he heard was, "You will make do to pass time and entertain my brother and I." Worse was that he was taken away before he could inquire what Qian Jun meant.
He found himself disoriented in a dark room with a man who was surrounded with red light as sat impassively on a golden chair holding a golden staff with dragon like engravings on it donned in golden armor. Jin Ho could probably guess who the man was but the man's words nearly startled the life out of him. "I didn't know you were fond of keeping pets brother."
His threat was laid out in plain sight and even Jin Ho as a child could detect it. The man was dangerous but Qian Jun whom he'd been playing around with before proved to be more ruthless than the man before them. "Of course not, he's meant for the young miss. If she doesn't like him, we'll just throw him out." The worst part was that Jin Ho couldn't discern whether they were serious or joking, but considering how eager they would be to kill Tang San in the future he leaned more towards the option of them being serious more than them joking.
"So you are planning to train him. But just a strong martial soul doesn't making him worthy of our attention." The man now identified as Jiang Long said as though he was bored, but a subtle smile from Qian Jun made him smile devishly as he unleashed a portion of his killing intent on Jin Ho.
The boy in turn was caught unaware and was his knees panting heavily clutching his heart over his chest. In both lives, this was the first time he'd ever felt so close to death, just shy of a few breaths from it. He considered running but something within him refused to acknowledge the command. He was neither willing to run away nor acknowledge his weakness and beg.
The only choice available to him was mutual destruction and overturning his earthly thoughts, he struggled to his feet and summoned Ruyi Jingu Bang. Instead of the veins he'd envisioned before, he envisioned fine threads that circled around the staff and coalesced at the top of it further amplifying the golden appearance on that particular end.
Taking the form of a baseball player he clenched every muscle on his tiny body and swung the staff towards a titled douluo whom he knew he couldn't defeat but wasn't willing to bow down to either. He was meant to be equal to heaven not some child's pet goddammit. That was Jin Ho's last thought as he embraced the realm of the unconscious.
His body was caught by Qian Jun who carried him like a sack of potatoes and Jin Ho's final attack as an act of defiance was swatted away easily by Jiang Long but interestingly the two super douluos were not angry but happier than they'd ever been in a long time.
The reason, the boy was undoubtedly a genius possessing twin martial souls, with a top grade tool martial soul maybe even superior to theirs. Letting him go would undoubtedly be a loss for them. But most importantly was the boy's actions. They'd expected him to submit in the presence of absolute power but he surprised them,No! that's undermining what he did. He stirred something in them that had been dormant for a long time, that very tiny fraction of killing intent the boy had shown was something they appreciated.
It was so tiny that even someone who'd killed before would fail to notice, but not them and the boy had never killed before. At first, to them the boy had potential, but now his potential was limitless.
Now onto facing the grand worship and expose their desire to train this new disciple of theirs and face the mad woman who'd definitely come looking for trouble.
