Chapter 12 - 12

"Teachers, you have to stand up for me. I didn't hit Marga.

She fell by herself, and so many classmates saw the whole thing."

Avery saw that the two teachers from her class had come over, so she quickly ran to them.

"You say you didn't hit her, so who can prove it?"

One of the teachers asked, more out of formality than anything else.

Being a teacher here means not only teaching well, but also knowing how to handle people. Otherwise, it's easy to lose your job. So without knowing the background of the students involved, they didn't take sides.

"I came early today, so when I got to the classroom, there weren't many students yet. But there were still more than ten people, and they all saw what happened."

Avery looked at the first group of students who had come in.

She had been excited to attend college today, so she arrived a bit earlier than usual.

Those ten or so classmates lived on campus, so they had also come early.

"Teachers, I saw it. Marga started the whole thing by provoking Avery.

And Avery never touched her at all."

Miles quickly raised her hand and said. Although she had just transferred to this school, she really liked Avery, who always stayed calm and confident, with a strong personality.

The other students lowered their heads and didn't speak.

They had come straight from high school to college here, so they knew the school's unspoken rules.

And since they weren't close to Avery, they didn't want to get involved.

One other girl looked like she wanted to say something but didn't have the courage to speak up.

"Teachers, whose daughter is this? She's making up stories here."

Marga's father glanced at the teachers, trying to see if they knew the girl's background.

"Miles, you just transferred here and don't understand how things work at this school. Some people and some things, you can't speak carelessly about them."

The teacher subtly warned both sides.

"Teacher, I'm not speaking carelessly. I'm just telling the truth. If you don't believe me, you can check the surveillance cameras.

Even though I just transferred here, we still need to speak with reason."

Miles really didn't understand all their hidden agendas, but she was just telling the truth about what she saw. She wasn't lying.

"Avery, you're really brave. Thank you."

Avery smiled and gave her a thumbs-up, but in her heart, she made a note of this simple and straightforward girl.

"Shut your mouth. You just transferred here, what right do you have to speak? If you don't shut up now, I'll make sure you never get the chance again."

Marga's father clearly understood what the teacher had implied. A transfer student likely wasn't from the capital. Such people were either newly rich or had returned from abroad, but either way, they weren't a threat.

"How can you act like this? She's just telling the truth. Why are you getting so angry?

Besides, this is a school, a place for learning. There's no need to yell like that."

Avery immediately cut him off, not wanting the young girl to keep talking.

She didn't know Miles' family background and didn't want her getting into trouble because of this.

"What are you all being paid for? I gave you instructions. Move now."

Marga's father didn't want to argue anymore because he already had a feeling that his daughter might've started it. But he wasn't going to admit that. As far as he was concerned, even if Avery used to be from the Lu family, now that she had been cast out, hitting her didn't matter.

"Yes."

His assistant, along with the bodyguards, immediately started walking toward Avery.

They were about to start fighting, but stopped when the teacher arrived.

"Teacher, this is a school. Hitting people is against the law. Aren't you going to do anything?"

Avery stood next to the teacher, nervously tugging on his sleeve.

"This is Mr. Dong. I'm just a small-time teacher. How am I supposed to help you?"

The teacher now knew that the daughter of the Lu family had been kicked out, so he naturally didn't want to speak up for her.

"Mr. Liu, aren't you going to help either?"

Avery looked pitifully at the other teacher.

"Mr. Dong, this is still a school. Let's leave it to the academic office to handle."

Mr. Liu wasn't really trying to help either side. He just didn't want them to start beating people up in class. This was still their workplace. If the incident got out, it wouldn't be good for them either.

"Don't worry. We'll go to the academic office in a bit."

Mr. Dong waved his hand, signaling the bodyguards to continue.

Seeing the boss's signal, the group of bodyguards didn't hesitate anymore and surrounded them.

"Teacher, I'm scared."

Avery, terrified, pulled Mr. Liu toward her.

Now both teachers were standing beside her, so they'd have to be treated the same.

A bodyguard threw a slap, and Avery quickly tugged at Mr. Liu, making him take the hit instead.

Smack — the sound rang out as Mr. Liu was completely stunned by the slap. After a moment, he clutched his face.

"Why did you hit me?"

He was a teacher! No matter what his background was, he was still a teacher here.

"Sorry, I hit the wrong person."

The bodyguard who hit him was confused. He was sure he had aimed for the woman.

"Looks like this woman knows how to dodge."

Another bodyguard saw her switch places with the teacher.

This time, he didn't slap. He kicked.

He didn't believe she could dodge this.

Avery didn't dodge. She lightly patted his leg, changing its direction.

The kick landed directly on the other teacher's stomach, sending him rolling.

"Ah!"

The teacher cried out in pain, clutching his stomach and rolling on the ground.

"Useless. Watch where you're hitting."

Mr. Dong didn't want to injure the teachers. Even though they didn't have powerful backgrounds, they were still part of the school and deserved some respect.

"Mr. Zhang, are you okay? Are you hurt? Get up. Let's go to the academic office."

Avery ignored the bodyguards. She walked over and lifted Mr. Zhang off the ground.

Then she grabbed Mr. Liu too. A few hits like that weren't enough.

Both teachers wanted to resist and get away, but they felt weak and couldn't break free from Avery's grip.

Before they could say anything, the group of bodyguards started kicking and punching again.

"Ahhh… it hurts… stop… ahhh… it hurts… please stop…"

The two teachers didn't stand a chance, and every punch and kick landed directly on them.
