"Hmmm....sis do you have anything planned for tomorrow?"Maya tactically asked to hint to her sister, kylie about her birthday which is due tomorrow .kylie seemed to have forgotten it, but obviously Maya being Maya didn't want to show that it matters to her that kylie cares about her.
"I don't think so" Kylie bluntly replied her casually sipping on her coffee. She knew exactly what kind of person her sister was but anyway she decided to give her the benefit of the doubt.
'I know she's trying to remind me of her birthday but obviously she won't admit it. And besides what use is a surprise if it has already been spilled. 'Kylie thought .
"Not even doing something fun …like going out" Maya said in a tone full of disappointment that almost broke through Kylie's act.
'O my she's getting desperate, gash! I hate seeing her like this. I think I should tell her' Kylie thought. 'Hey shut up, you shouldn't let her tactics get to you. By now you should be immune to her tricks, but no you always give in, or has she now become your weakness?' Kylie mentally scolded herself .
"Are you sure about that?" Maya pressed on.
"o yeah right you just reminded me, I need to visit the old age home and the orphanage _kylie used to love visiting the old age home and for the orphanage? She some how felt those kids were like her since she was also an orphan _she knew how much it hurts .Thanks for reminding me" Kylie kept on with her act. This is getting interesting.
"Oh-okay" Maya replied quite disappointed. how can she forget my bd, it really hurts. well I'm done reminding her, she can forget it if she wants.
The rest of the meal was unusually awkwardly quiet and tension too thick that a knife could slice through it_everyone kept making themselves busy with their steak until Maya broke it.
"I'm going to bed, don't disturb me I'm tired and need to prepare for school tomorrow" Maya immediately left for her room before Kylie could wrap her head around everything.
"Oh no this cat and mouse game was a really bad idea "Kylie muttered under her breath. but even then she was not backing out of the game she started_she has to end it.
Maya went to bed but only kept tossing around.It really bothered her that her sis, her only family,her Kylie forgot about her bd_usually she even used to be more enthusiastic about it than her, so what went wrong?She stayed up till 2 in the morning but nothing _Kylie always wished her by exactly midnight. So she gave up, she didn't even realize when she fell asleep but she was glad she did.
Meanwhile....Kylie did not get any sleep either. She kept cursing herself for making Maya feel down_but in the end it was all for the greater good .
she kept checking on her occasionally until she finally saw her peacefully asleep. With a soft sigh she smiled and gently placed a kiss on her forehead saying "Don't worry sis, it will all be better tomorrow.
