AT THE SAME TIME
AUTHOR'S POINT OF VIEW:
I slammed my palms onto the desk, grinning like a lunatic.
"They did it!" I shouted to absolutely no one.
My coffee nearly spilled as I stood too fast, eyes glued to the multi monitor spread in front of me. A hundred camera feeds. Dozens of data streams. Comments flowing so fast the screen stuttered trying to catch up.
"ADRIAN GRABBING XAVIER'S HAND?? SHIP IT." "TWO HOURS LEFT?! ARE THEY KIDDING??" "BRO THE KEY. THE FREAKING KEY! IT'S GORGEOUS." "Author WILDIN' AGAIN. FINAL TRIAL UNLOCKED???" "WHY IS THIS GAME BETTER THAN MY WHOLE LIFE.'
I laughed, full-throated and delighted, running my hand through my hair as I watched the group collapse in exhaustion on-screen. Xavier, panting. Adrian is holding his hand. Selene groaning against the wall. Terrence curled like a sleeping fox. Gold. It was all gold.
