Driven by curiosity, Lin Xian stepped through the portal and began exploring the pixelated world beyond.
As he walked deeper into this strange realm, he saw a sheep. It was white, and its entire body was made of blocky pixels. The sheep stared at him briefly and let out a soft bleat.
"Baaah~~"
The sound was surprisingly normal, even though the creature looked anything but.
Narrowing his eyes in curiosity, Lin Xian raised his hand. A golden chain materialized from the void, shimmering with a strange energy. It responded to his thoughts, and he directed its pointed tip toward the unfortunate sheep.
The chain shot forward and struck the sheep's side. But instead of piercing it like expected, the sheep was knocked backward as if hit by a blunt force. It immediately turned and fled.
Lin Xian blinked, confused. He had expected the chain to stab through, not bounce off. He didn't stop, though. The chain darted forward again, striking the sheep a second time.
This time, the sheep let out a short bleat before vanishing into a puff of white smoke. No corpse remained. Instead, glittering light particles floated in the air before being absorbed into Lin Xian's body.

A mission? Lin Xian's curiosity deepened. He looked around and spotted a blocky tree in the distance. Without hesitation, he dashed toward it.
"How am I supposed to cut this thing down?" he muttered.
He summoned his golden chain again, aiming the sharp tip at the tree's trunk. The chain struck—yet the tree didn't break. Instead, a small crack appeared on its surface.
Interesting.
He struck again, and again. Slowly, the cracks spread across the trunk until—finally—the tree fell over and vanished, leaving behind several smaller wood blocks.
Lin Xian picked one up.

He focused on the block, and it instantly appeared in his hand. When he placed it on the ground, a full-sized wooden block materialized, about waist-high.
"So… it's just like a game," he murmured with a small smile.

But Lin Xian chose to ignore the quest for now. He realized he had been in this world for four hours. It was nearly lunchtime, and he didn't want Liu Yanyan to worry.

He stood up and noticed the empty dining table—a sign that Liu Yanyan had already eaten. He walked to her room and found the girl still sleeping soundly.
He leaned closer and tried to wake her, but she only stirred slightly, refusing to open her eyes.
Smiling playfully, he said, "I was thinking of taking you somewhere fun… but since you don't want to wake up, I guess I'll go alone."
Just as he turned to leave and pretended to shut the door, Liu Yanyan suddenly sat up, eyes half-open and filled with curiosity.
