Chapter 9 - Mo Han?!

Burning Sun pavilion…

After walking for a long time, Mohan Das and Fatty Lambu finally reached the administration hall.

Again, there is a long queue of people who passed the entrance test.

There is a big, pot-bellied, bald man standing at the start of the line. There are two servants standing on either side of him. One was noting down the personal details of the disciple, and the other was handing a small pouch, sect robes, and an identity token to each disciple.

The bald man was seriously observing the process and taking a good look at every single disciple without saying a word.

While standing in the line, Mohan Das was observing all the structures around him. Even though the atmosphere and humans look the same in this world, the structures and their clothes and the way of talking were quite different. Almost all the structures were built with heavy rocks, and glowing lines followed in between the rocks, which were shining at regular intervals.

Finally, the turn came for Fatty Lambu, who stood before Mohan Das.

"Tell me your full name and cultivation level." The bald-headed elder asked with a serious look.

"Lambu Ju… level 1 qi condensation stage." Lambu announced with a smile.

The servant noted his name in the long book with an ink brush. The other servant handed over a small pouch containing three spirit stones, an identity token, and two pairs of sect robes.

Lambu placed a drop of blood on the identity token and accepted it with a bow.

Next Mohan Das's turn came.

"What's your name and cultivation level, boy?" The bald elder asked while observing Das from head to toe.

"Mohan… Das. I did not start cultivating yet." Das replied with a straight face.

"Wait, wait… Are you from the Han family?" The bald elder asked hurriedly.

Even Lambu was surprised after hearing that question from the elder.

"No… I did not belong to any family here." Das replied back without thinking much.

"Then why is there a Han in your name? Are you hiding anything? Tell me the truth, otherwise the consequences will be severe." The bald elder asked again with wide-open eyes.

Mohan Das was first taken aback by the elder's sudden change of attitude. But he prepared to deny, as he didn't want to get involved in any local family names.

But just then, Fatty Lambu stepped forward and said, "Respected elder, this brother definitely belongs to the Han family. He escaped from the Han family in his childhood because of some family issues. That's why he doesn't want to accept the HAN family name." Lambu said, in a polite tone, while giving a secret wink to Das.

Das did not understand what drama Fatty Lambu was playing. But he did not try to deny what he said.

"Ohh… so it's like this." The elder thought for a second and instructed the servant to register the name of Mohan Das as Mo Han.

After that, Das accepted the small pouch containing the three spirit stones and placed a single drop of blood on the identity token.

With the identity token and two sets of new white Outer Court disciple clothes… Both Mohan Das and Fatty Lambu began walking in the direction of the outer court to find out their residence.

"Why did you say it like that? I definitely did not belong to any Han family." Mohan Das asked while walking along with Fatty.

"Brother… The Han family is one of the four wealthiest families in the Red Bamboo City. They were far away from here, but their name was popular enough to be known by all the people. We already offended an inner court disciple… If the elder knows that you are from the Han family… he will definitely treat you better with less work." Lambu said with a sheepish smile.

"But what if they find out? Aren't Han family members supposed to take revenge if they find out we are using their family name, allegedly?" Das asked with a questioning look.

"Brother, you don't need to worry about that. The red bamboo city is far away from here. No one would find out about this. So ignore everything and enjoy the benefits of the Han family name." Fatty said with a wide grin.

After thinking for a minute, Mohan Das also felt there is no harm in using the name of the Han family, as it will only benefit them temporarily. Even if they find out, he can clarify that people misunderstood his name.

The small happiness of Lambu immediately died down after reaching the residence place of the Outer Court disciples. There are only five large huts. And there are hundreds of beds under each hut.

Everyone was selecting their bed close to the windows. And most of the beds were already occupied. Fatty Lambu felt like crying after seeing the situation. He was a more reserved person who liked to live in his own room. He doesn't want to get bathed in front of so many people who will start laughing after seeing his hairless body.

On the other hand, Das moved to all five different huts and found two beds close to a high window. After occupying the bed, Das alone moved to see other facilities.

There are cumulative washrooms that were lined along the walls. He felt funny seeing a wooden basin inside the bathroom.

There is no single place where you can find privacy, as a large number of Outer Court disciples were placed under five huts and a line of washrooms. Except for these two, there is also a large tree under which many disciplines were fighting to take a place and cultivate.

Mohandas did not understand why all these people were fighting to stay close to the tree. And the tree also seems a little bit different than others, with more vibrant leaves and flowers.

He went back to the hut to meet with Lambu and ask him about the tree. But Lambu already began sleeping on the wooden bed with a loud snore.

Mohan Das felt helpless after seeing Fatty, who was sleeping cluelessly. He is damn sure that he won't be sleeping peacefully due to the loud snore of fatty Lambu.

With a helpless look, Mohan Das began approaching other people to speak with and find more details about the outer court.

But many people were avoiding him intentionally. After a long thought, Mohan Das felt that the people were avoiding him because of his fight with the inner court disciple, Ron Lee.

Mohan Das already forgot about Ron Lee and began thinking about what he should do from now on.

But on the other hand, Ron Lee began moving his pawns to give a hard time to Mohan Das and Lambu in the outer court.
