Chapter 3
Ray had been falling behind in rent and was going to be evicted if he didn't pay soon. He worked overtime but he wasn't paid fairly and he knew that all to well. He hadn't told Orien yet because he didn't want to be a burden. He was conflicted, tell Orien or be homeless. Two things were for sure, 1: if he didn't tell him and went homeless, Orien would definitely find out. 2 : he knew he could count on Orien if he needed to.
Ray decided to go for the better option no.2. He grabbed his phone and texted Orien's number. < can we talk? >. Orien's phone buzzed, he picked it up and noticed it was from Ray, his beloved.< can we talk? > it said. < sure, about what? >. Ray said he wanted to meet him at Orien's house. Orien agreed of course, and Ray headed over, walking this time instead of driving because he had sold his car the week before.
When he arrived he walked in heading towards Orien's sector of the home. He nocked his signature nock, then entering he sat on a chair. He assumed Orien was having a shower as he heard the shower tap on. When Orien emerged from the bathroom, his hair still wet, he smiled at Ray. "so…what did you want to talk about?". "um…. Well….. you see….." he paused for a moment, thinking. "Orien… I'm getting evicted from my house, I can't pay rent anymore." Orien's expression deepened " you're telling me, that you haven't paid in so long that there evicting you, and you never told me??" Ray nodded and apologized, explaining how he didn't want to worry him and that he thought he could work even more overtime to pay, but that they wouldn't let him do anymore then he was already was.
After some time of silence, Orien spoke "you could live with me....Correction, you will!". Ray's eyes widened with surprise. "are you sure? Won't I be a burden?" Orien was dumbfounded. "if you were than I wouldn't have asked you"
And with that Ray started to move his boxes into the room next to Orien's one. Even though eventually he ended up sleeping in Orien's bed with him. Orien went with him, driving him so he didn't have to walk the entire time. Ray was forever grateful for his boyfriend. When all the boxes were gone Ray handed over the keys to the landlord and they left for good. At Orien's house they were inseparable, spending almost every day together. They continued emptying the boxes until there were none left. Orien enjoyed helping Ray move in, he felt like this was a huge step in their relationship. He loved the feeling of waking up next to him every day. Of course his feelings were reciprocated just as intensely, with Ray pleased to be with him in Orien's, now their home. He wasn't used to the spacious house, but that was okay. They both looked forward to the future ahead.
