Joel, seeing the beast getting more serious, only smiled, not getting the least intimidated by its aura.
The Oni's body began to glow red as its sword pulsed with power. It lunged at Joel, covering a distance of 2km in the blink of an eye. However, Joel remained calm as he circulated his water essence in his spear. When the time was ripe, he used his self-created technique to strike back.

The essence condensed into a bullet-sized glow on the tip of the spear. As the monster approached, he made a lightning-fast thrust that pushed the essence out of his spear. The Oni, seeing no way to avoid the strike, could only sacrifice his left hand. The strike landed on its left shoulder, and the force pulled it apart.
Should I say you are lucky or skilled? Joel said from the side, surprised that the Oni could survive his attack, even though it was at the cost of one arm.
The Oni, however, did not even budge when it saw its arm on the floor. It got up and slashed upright at Joel, making an arc of fire shoot out. Joel, being so close to the attack, had no choice but to bear the full brunt of the attack. He instantly created the toughest armour he could with his earth essence, while reinforcing it with water and wind.
The strike landed on him, breaking the armour with ease and flinging him back. He spat out blood as he stood up while looking at the monster like a hunter. I shouldn't have held back while we were fighting, he said to the monster as he wiped the blood out of his mouth. He dropped the broken spear in his hands and created a new one with all 4 affinities he had.
This was the first time he was using the shadow ability. He walked calmly to the monster while preparing to strike. The monster, feeling the threat oozing from Joel's body, began running, but it was too late. Shadow tendrils bind his leg to the floor firmly, but they were unable to hold him for long.

Joel said as he thrust forward. The monster moved its body limply, allowing the spear to pierce its other shoulder. Joel just smiled when he saw this as he dispelled his spear while facing the Oni with his back.
The Oni, not wanting to lose its chance, ran towards Joel, but as it moved, its whole body shook, and boom. The body of the Oni exploded from the inside.
Joel caught a piece of its body and copied the fire affinity from it directly. After copying the affinity, he sat in a lotus position, as he entered a state of enlightenment to absorb all his gains from the battle.
On the other side, a girl with long blonde hair was fighting with an earth dragon in the core realm.
The battle had already destroyed everything within a 3km radius around them, but the girl was at no disadvantage as she used her time affinity and her dual blades to bully the dragon. Swoosh, the girl cleanly sliced off the head of the dragon as she felt bored with its strength.
