Akira's knees hit the metal floor, sparks flying from the impact.
Yuki gritted her teeth, blood trailing down her cheek as her back slammed into the reactor shield.
Raikus stood tall—unscathed, cloaked in shadow, the symbols on his armor glowing brighter with every strike they landed.
> "Is this all the Bright Star and the Frost Echo have to offer?" he mocked, stepping forward slowly.
"Disappointing. I expected a storm… but found sparks."
Akira forced himself to his feet, blade trembling slightly from the pressure Raikus emitted.
> "What are you…?" Yuki breathed. "No human bleeds light."
Raikus stopped. His smirk faded.
And then, as if answering an unspoken call, the lights dimmed. A vision surged through the room.
A memory—not theirs—but Raikus's.

Flashback – 14 Years Ago
A younger Raikus—then known as Raian—stood in a burning village.
He was a soldier once.
A defender of the weak. A protector.
Until the government he served betrayed him.
> "We're not saving them," his superior had said coldly. "The council ordered a purge. Burn everything."
Raian had watched in horror as innocents screamed and died under the very flag he once saluted.
Something broke inside him.
And then… the darkness answered.
A voice from beyond the rift:
> "If your light is broken… let me give you new power."
He accepted it.
He became Raikus.

> "So that's it…" Akira whispered. "You weren't always like this."
Raikus chuckled bitterly.
> "No one ever is."
His arms spread.

The runes on his body began to glow white-hot.
A wind like thunder screamed through the chamber.
Yuki's eyes widened.
> "Akira—his body—!"
Raikus's armor shattered.
And from within emerged his true form:
Silver-white skin, eyes of molten gold, runes etched like fire scars across his chest and arms. A pair of spectral wings—half flame, half void—unfolded behind him.
> "Let me show you," he whispered, voice layered with a second, deeper resonance,
"what happens… when light falls and is reborn in darkness."
