JAY-JAY'S POV
Quiet. It's like an angel is watching.
To Angelo?
That's not an angel. That's just pretending. The two hands blocked his face. The eyes were all around us at the table. I can't help but be nervous. My eyes kept going around them too.
"I'm going to see Jeana." Aunt Gema broke the silence.
I stopped for a moment and looked at her. She's not even me stared at. It's like I just heard that she was going to see Mama. I know they can't agree but Tita Gema is trying to fix what they have.
"Take care." Aries said lifelessly.
"Maybe I'll come home tomorrow." Aunt Gema added, making Kuya stop.
"Is there a problem?" he asked.
Aunt shook her head. "Jeana is just helping me."
About what?
"Can I come?" I asked.
"Don't." Kuya Angelo and Aunt Gema answered quickly and at the same time.
Aries and Tito Julz and I also looked at them.
"Maybe just us. It's not important." Tita said and forced a smile.
I looked at Aries who was also looking at me. Tita quickly finished the food and left the table. Tito Julz followed her to deliver her. There are only three of us at the table. I feel like I know what will happen next.
There's a deluge!
"Jay." Kuya called me.
That's it!
The spoon with the rice I was about to eat was hanging in the air.
"W-what?"
"I talked to Alvin." He started and I dropped the spoon on the plate. "They say you don't follow his orders and you are warned to answer."
What?
"No!" my defended.
Sir Alvin is awesome. I'm being reported to Kuya, I'm not doing anything bad to him. Kuya Angelo raised an eyebrow at me as if he was checking. I couldn't help but be afraid of what he was doing.
"Just once." I answered and bowed.
Kuya quickly hit his palm on the table. Even Aries was surprised by what he did and almost choked on the water he was drinking.
"Why are you treating him like that? You're even proud of him!"
"N-not at all. W-what w-because..." I couldn't find the right answer.
I wanted to cry. This is how he opened up to me this morning. I'm still very happy because it's Friday and tomorrow is a day off. I will never see the face of the pest King of Snakes. I can muster up enough energy to face him next week.
Then the ugly opening of my day.
"It's like you said that you are not taught good manners here! Did we teach you to disrespect your teacher?!" He asked angrily.
I bowed while shaking my head. I still thought he would talk to me because Kei-kwanan was already there. He was going to lecture me because Sir Alvin reported something.
"N-no. Because...what is that...Sir..." I tried to argue but Kuya Angelo saw that my tongue was retreating.
Aries stood up so I looked at him for a moment. I think he's about to take a shower. When he gets ahead of me again, I will rush again. And it's a big sin when we're late because of me.
You thought he would die if he was caught.
"B-brother. I'm going to be late." I said as if talking but slowly stood up.
"What are you planning?" He asked making me stop.
"Going to take a shower."
"About Keifer."
I can't move at all. I couldn't even speak. What am I planning?
How many times did I hear that panic yesterday? It's a good thing that Aries picked me up from the room when I got home because the crazy people were still planning to party.
If I could just avoid it, I would do that. It's not like that because that Kei-kwanan pest doesn't want to stop me. He just got home but he immediately started ruining my day.
It's good and my stiff neck is gone that I blame him for why I had it. Thanks to Aries' strong neck yesterday, when we were coming home. He got angry because he said I was in a hurry and I didn't want him to pick me up. I can only think that they will eat again and then I'm not with them.
"I know you two have a thing." He said calmly.
"What thing? Nothing like that!" I quickly defended because there was none, indeed! "Brother, I was tricked!"
"You were fooled. Does that mean you have no feelings?"
"Yes-no!"
I have to say no. Because that's what it should be and that's what's right. That supposed love will do me no good. Especially in front of my cousin pretending to be an angel who came down from heaven.
Big brother shook his head. "Where are you so he will pick up your nonsense?"
"I will finish school." I said proudly.
"I never said no. Even if you get pregnant now, you will finish."
"Why would I get pregnant?"
"I'm just kidding."
"I don't believe it. It's not your social instinct." I said and was about to turn away from him but I put the rice back on my plate first.
I finished it first and got a hot dog before leaving.
"Jay. Be careful." He chased after me before I could completely leave the dining area.
I ran straight to my room and the bathroom. I acted quickly. I almost forgot to brush my teeth. And while I was getting dressed, my fate came knocking.
"You're so slow!" He complained.
"Yes! Yes!" I just got tired of being annoyed.
Because of the rush, my socks are different again. I just let it go and didn't get criticized often at school. Do they please? Are they washing my socks?
Let them buy soap.
I walked out to make sure all my things were okay. I even said goodbye to the two snorlax.
"It's been a while!" Aries said annoyed before getting into his car.
I didn't say anything and it might just increase his temper. Then he will curse me. I can't, I must have a good day today.
Because today is Friday. Last day before Saturday and Sunday. And what is saturday and week? I rest, my eyes rest, my mind rests and my feelings are crushed by my intense anger at the appearance of that pestilent man.
So there should be good vibes today.
The car stopped in the school parking lot. Aries and I didn't say anything good, because there was no curse. I walked to school. I just keep going even though I notice that other students are looking at me and whispering too.
I seem to know the reason. Of course, the King of Plague Snakes has returned home. I guess the rumor is going around again with us. I just gasped in the air.
It's hard to be beautiful.
When I reached the floor of our classroom, I stopped. Here it is again, I have to extend my patience and increase my pride.
I just sighed before stepping on my feet again and walking into the room. As usual the horns are hyper again and the reason? There is food again.
It's a good thing I had breakfast-french toast I smell?
I peeked at what the turtles were eating. There is fried rice, hotdog, ham, omelette, longganisa, tucino, spam and any other non-Filipino breakfast.
My eyes were still rolling to see what the others were eating, but I stopped when I met Kei-kwanan's eyes. He smiled simply as if he thought I would reciprocate.
I simply raised my middle finger and pretended to use it to frown. Instead of being annoyed by what I did, his smile grew even wider.
I just gave him a hard time and sat in my seat. I stopped for a moment when I noticed what was on the table. A box with a ribbon. It looks like a gift but the box is unwrapped. There should be a wrapper to make it look better even if there is nothing inside.
I adjusted my gear for a moment before focusing on the box,
Is it for me? Or something is just layered.
I turned to Ci to ask but the fool was busy eating. His mouth was so full that he almost couldn't close it. I quickly changed my mind and faced David who was currently enjoying his coffee.
Coffee is a waste. It didn't matter, he was still asleep later.
"David." I called him.
"Hmm?" He answered while sipping coffee but on his eyes on the cellphone.
"Is it for me?" I asked pointing to the box on my desk.
He turned for a moment and looked at what I pointed out. "What do you think?"
"It's on my table, for me." I answered.
He smiled sparingly. "No. It just happened."
I looked at him badly. The real talker. He had coffee but Lintik was in the mood to be pissed again. Is that a result of having a social instinct?
Suddenly I remembered what Kuya said. Not that I believe but I just want to be satisfied. I want to hear what a real person with social instincts has to say.
"David." I called him again and barely came closer. "I just have a question."
He stopped his intention to drink coffee and let his cellphone die just to listen to what I had to ask.
"Do you think I will get pregnant soon?"
His face turned sour quickly as if my question was surprising and annoying. He just doesn't have a place for me.
It's hard to react.
"What the hell? Did you do that....thing?" He asked in shock.
I still blinked while thinking about the thing he was referring to. I quickly realized what he meant.
"No! Just think, it's just based on my personality."
He stared at me for a moment. "Why are you asking me that?"
"Your instincts are social, right?"
He scratched his eyebrows. He doesn't speak anymore so I feel he is thinking. It took a while before he spoke again that I had to decide several times whether to open the box or not.
"For a while..." I whispered that I meant for him to hear.
"I think..." He started so I sat up. "No."
I smiled at what he said. I trust his hunch more than Kuya's hunch.
"As long as Keifer doesn't become your boyfriend." He added which made my smile disappear and he laughed.
"Are you serious?" I asked sarcastically.
He shook his head. "Instincts are usually based on human personality and of course, the common logic around it."
Waooo! I don't understand anything. It's hard to be a shunga.
"What do you want to convey?"
"Based on Keifer's personality, once you become his partner, he won't let you go. So, get pregnant and get married right away," he explained. 😂❤️
He had a point. With the attitude of the scumbag King of the Demon Snakes, it was even less clear than soapy water that he wouldn't do something like that—because he was in a panic.
"What if Kei-kwanan and I don't end up together? What if... it's another man?"
He frowned. "Kei-what?"
"The date."
He frowned even more and gaped. Obviously not getting what I'm saying.
"What does it mean?" he asked.
"It's a pronoun," Ci-N suddenly said, his groin tensing while he still had a finger raised, as if he were a trivia giver. "It is often used as a pronoun to refer to a person, thing, or animal. For example: Kanana's breath is bad. The reference is Calix—"
He couldn't finish his explanation because a notebook hit his head. The accuracy of the throw was undeniable, making it obvious that he was the intended target.
"Ouch." He whispered while scratching the part of his head that was hit.
"There's nothing." David said as he sighed. "What's with the pronoun?"
"Nothing." I answered while playing with the ribbon in the box.
I heard his soft laugh so I just tortured him. Our conversation is getting distant. It should be here, it looks like it has already left the room.
"What am I asking?"
"You can't get pregnant," he answered quickly, which immediately explained my expression. "Especially if I become your boyfriend." I looked at him quickly. Our conversation was serious, yet here he was, coming up with something stupid again. The mischief began when he smiled.
"Can I spank you?" I asked sarcastically.
His only response was laughter. Ci-N suddenly appeared in front of us. His eyes were still wide as he looked back and forth with David.
I feel like I know what's next.
"Keifer!David is forming Jay-jay.....!" He shouted so fast that I barely understood the words.
As long as he reported to their King. David and I turned around almost at the same time. He raised an eyebrow while looking at us evilly. I also met him with a raised eyebrow.
What if I jowa? Well, I think there are many women in London. That's not vague. Honey really didn't want to admit it to me when I said hello to the King of Snakes.
I'm just crazy.
I thought about getting back at that Kei-kwanan pest for teasing me. I also want to know what his reaction will be. I also want to know what is true.
I faced David and touched both cheeks. His eyes literally widened in shock.
"Alright, you're my boyfriend as long as I don't get pregnant soon." I said and he blinked.
"My answer is coffee."
"We have a lot of bread."
"Just cremation, he probably won't be able to recognize his face if he's buried."
I heard the Snakes talking. I know they are watching and their topic is not different from me.
Talk of death!
"What? Are you willing?" I seriously asked David.
I can see him swallowing. His face was full of sweat that you thought his life was at stake in his answer.
"Hello? This is Keifer Watson." I heard the King of Serpents say. "I would like to speak to the Head of Braselton Family."
Braselton Family? His family?
David suddenly removed my hands from his face. I felt like I had an infectious disease. I almost blushed but I just noticed him paleness.
"I value our friendship, but I don't want to die early." He said and suddenly stood up with his cellphone.
He almost ran out while someone was calling on his cell phone. I blinked as I followed him.
What's up?
"Thank you. Maybe some other times." Said the pesky, skinny demon Kei-kwanan who was right next to me.
I simply looked at him. He pressed something on his cellphone before putting it in his pocket.
He slightly bowed close to me. "I never said you're allowed to look for a new boyfriend."
"Who are you to allow me for permission?"
He came even closer so I got away. "Remember? Before I left, I marked you." ❤️
I just blinked. I didn't understand anything he said. What marked? Isn't that him? Mark-Kwanan.
"I don't understand what you're saying."
He grinned arrogantly again. "Would you like me to refresh your memory?" He asked and brought his lips to mine.
I quickly walked away but that caused me to fall off the chair. My hips dropped as one leg was left on the bench.
"Animal... The pain." I said while slowly getting up but I stopped because of someone whistling.
"Such a wonderful view." Said the slinky, shrill animal that was a demonic pest, the King of Snakes, as he extended his hand to me to help me.
My thighs were exposed to him. My cycling shorts are short enough to show my smooth-yes, smooth, thighs. It's worth it.
I quickly shook his hand and immediately stood up even though my hip was aching. I fixed my skirt and dress before standing here.
"You bastard!"
"That's a compliment." He said and closed his eyes for a moment as if he thought of something. "I forgot, you're not used to compliment." His annoying smile peeked out again.
It's like there's a vein in my head that's about to burst due to anger at him. I immediately raised my fist to hit him but stopped because I knew he would avoid it. I just took a bench and was about to hit him but suddenly the snakes took off.
"Hey! Jay!"
"Jay-jay!"
"Oy! Take care!"
They shouted almost at the same time as they approached me. Felix and Edrix quickly grabbed the bench. Denzel and Eren were in the middle. Ci-N hugged me from behind.
"Just relax!" Felix shouted as he tried to grab the bank.
There was no plan to hold back, but Sir Alvin just entered the room. He followed David who was wiping sweat.
"It's alright." Sir answered as if he was not in the mood to joke. I'm not in the mood either. I was reported.
I was forced to return to my place and give the bank to the Ulupongs. Sir first arranged for the attendance. I turned back for a moment when I heard the soft laughter of the crooks.
I stopped when the crazy Kei-kwanan winked at me. It was difficult for me to repay him. I adjusted my seat and looked back at the front. But because the box in front of me grabbed my attention, I couldn't help but think about opening it. That's why Sir Alvin might get angry so I put it aside for now.
Attendance was starting when Yuri suddenly entered the door. The uniform is sweaty and wrinkled. He apologized to Sir before going to his seat. He smiled at me so I did the same but the blood stain on his jaw didn't escape me. I just watched. I intended to show him the blood but Kei-kwanan took the lead.
What happened?
I can't help but be nervous. I know he will never tell what is happening to him again. As time goes on, my hunch doesn't get any better. Even though class has started, Yuri is still on my mind. And when Sir finished teaching, I was still worried about him.
"Mariano." Sir Alvin called me.
"W-what?" I answered a little surprised.
"I'll talk to you." He said and walked out.
Ci-N and I looked at each other before following Sir Alvin. When he came outside, he had stopped and was obviously waiting for me.
"What sir?"
"Help Watson review. Just take the other lesson from my table-."
"I don't want to!" I was quick to reject.
He was really ordering me. There is no 'can't' at all. As long as 'help' was said immediately.
There is a plan! There is a plan!
Sir's eyebrows met immediately. "I command you."
I shook my head even though there was a threat in his voice. I am ready to follow, as long as it has nothing to do with that noise.
"You really don't want to?" He asked again.
I shook my head again. He sighed before grabbing the cellphone from his pocket and pressing it. He put the phone to my ear and I almost screamed when I heard the name of the person he called.
"Angelo...yes. It's Jay-Jay. She doesn't want to follow my orders." He said.
Like a child! Really reported!
"What can I say? She'll hit someone." Sir said while looking at me. "She has a strong voice." I held my head. "You will shave her eyebrows." I held my eyebrows.
"Let him beat me." I grabbed my ass.
Come on! There is a pole with a partner.
"S-sir. I'll be next." I grabbed his attention.
His mischievous smile did not escape my eyes, which quickly disappeared.
"Okay, Angelo. I'll take care of it." He said before hanging up and facing me. "Just pick it up at the faculty office, before you go home. You will take care of him"
I just nodded before he left.
If I could just see my face, I would probably be blushing with anger.
