Chapter 9

Tian Dou Royal Academy, Office of the Education Committee.

Led by a teacher, Li Chang'an arrived here.

This place was located in the center of the academy's main campus and was the largest building on the entire campus. Though it appeared to be a single-story structure, its highest point reached more than ten meters. Getting closer, it looked quite spectacular.

"The three members of the Education Committee are inside. Don't be nervous when you go in. Just answer whatever the committee asks," the teacher who brought him here said kindly.

"Understood, thank you, teacher," Li Chang'an nodded, putting on a well-behaved and sensible appearance.

The teacher smiled and patted his head before leaving.

He pushed the door open and entered the Education Committee's office.

Li Chang'an was surprised to find that the Education Committee's interior wasn't as lavish as he'd imagined. On the contrary, the place where the three Soul Douluo members of the committee worked and lived was very simple, with only the necessary furnishings and a few simple green plants for decoration.

At that moment, the three members of the committee were working in their respective offices. When they saw him enter, their eyes lit up, and each of their old faces broke into a smile, exuding a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

"Greetings, esteemed members of the Education Committee."

Li Chang'an took the lead in greeting them, performing the formal etiquette expected of the younger generation in the soul master world. Although, as the emperor's son-in-law, he didn't need to go that far, it was always good to appear polite and well-behaved.

"No need for formalities,"

As expected, the three members of the committee, who were all over ninety years old, smiled warmly at him. One of them got up from his seat and approached, his tone unusually amiable. "No wonder His Majesty spoke so highly of you. You are indeed a talented individual, humble and polite. Please, sit down and let's talk."

The member who had spoken was the head of the Education Committee, Meng Shenji, a control-type Soul Douluo with a martial soul called the Black Demon. He was an eighty-sixth-level, eight-ringed powerhouse.

The other two members were Bai Baoshan, the second seat of the Education Committee, a Soul Douluo whose martial soul was the Heavenly Star Furnace, a defense-type eighty-fifth-level, eight-ringed Soul Douluo, and Zhi Lin, the third seat, a Soul Douluo whose martial soul was the Azure Vine, a control-type eighty-third-level, eight-ringed artifact Soul Douluo.

These three were some of the most powerful individuals in the Heaven Dou Empire. With their Soul Douluo strength, they could wield immense power even in the midst of thousands of soldiers. The Soul Douluo were considered the top powerhouses in the soul master world when the Title Douluo were absent.

With three Soul Douluo-level powerhouses at the helm, it was clear that the Heaven Dou Royal Academy had a deep foundation. If it weren't for the academy's policy of only admitting nobles, which led to a lax and indulgent student atmosphere, it would have been much stronger, a true competitor to other top factions.

As a Baron and the emperor's son-in-law, Li Chang'an was obviously well-qualified to join the academy. Moreover, with his prodigious talent, even without his noble status, he would've had no trouble being accepted. After all, no academy would refuse a genius student.

The students of the Heaven Dou Royal Academy were divided into three levels:

Tianwei level for those below level 25, Tianzhi level for those between level 25 and 30, Tiandou level for those above level 30.

Li Chang'an, currently only at level fourteen, would be placed in the Tianwei level. But this didn't bother him. After all, he had just awakened his martial soul, was only six years old, and still had plenty of room for growth.

For now, his focus was on studying. He aimed to learn all the knowledge necessary for a soul master.

While the world described in the Douluo Continent novels was only a rough framework, this was a real world with its own logic and a soul master system passed down for millennia. There were many details and intricacies that weren't covered in the books. And it was precisely this knowledge that Li Chang'an lacked.

Anyone who thought they knew everything about soul masters from reading the novels would be gravely mistaken. In fact, failing to learn everything properly could lead to dangerous cultivation errors.

Li Chang'an quickly realized that the world he was in operated according to real, complex rules. The cultivation of soul masters was anything but simple.
