Chapter 10 - The Sun's Whisper and the Soul's Awakening

Chapter 10: The Sun's Whisper and the Soul's Awakening

The morning sun shone gently over the village. It was warm, calm, and peaceful.

Inside their small but clean home, Radha was lighting a lamp in front of the small altar, while Adhiratha stood just outside, preparing to feed the cows.

Today was Karna's third birthday.

Radha turned and smiled at her son, who was still rubbing his eyes as he walked out of his room.

> "Good morning, Karna," she said warmly. "Did you sleep well?"

Karna nodded, yawning.

> "Yes, Ma… but I saw a strange dream again."

Adhiratha walked in, chuckling.

> "Another dream? What was it this time, son?"

Karna sat down slowly, looking thoughtful.

> "A tall man with light around him… and a lady standing beside him. I couldn't hear them, but they looked kind."

Radha paused. Her hand stopped mid-motion while pouring milk into a small bowl.

> "Maybe… they're gods who like you," she said softly, hiding her unease.

Karna didn't respond. He only stared at the floor.

Something had changed.

He didn't feel like the same boy anymore. Something inside him… opened.

---

Later that day, while Radha went to fetch water and Adhiratha tended to the horses, Karna sat alone beneath the tree behind their house.

He closed his eyes, breathing calmly.

Then, it happened.

A warm light filled his mind.

He wasn't scared.

Karna opened his eyes slowly. He didn't speak. He just sat quietly for a long time.

His memories rushed back… his past life… his knowledge of the Mahabharata.

> "I remember… everything."

He stood up and looked at the sky.

But the more he remembered, the more confused he became.

> "Wait… this world isn't the same."

He recalled how in the Mahabharata story, King Pandu had ruled the Kuru Kingdom while Dhritarashtra, the blind prince, was denied the throne.

But here, King Dhritarashtra sat on the throne. He had met him already.

And Queen Gandhari had taken him into her arms.

> "It was supposed to be Pandu… not Dhritarashtra," Karna muttered.

He remembered that Vidura had become the mahamantri and stopped dhritarashtra from becoming king to kuru kingdom for he is blind and suggest pandu to become king.

But in this world, dhritarashtra becomes king first and Vidura becomes mahamantri after king's ceremony.

> "So… the events are different. This world is not the same Mahabharata."

Karna also recalled another event:

> "When I was two years old… Pandu married Kunti. I saw her once, but she left with Pandu shortly after."

He closed his eyes, focusing.

> "Soon after, Pandu went to war and married another woman there. That's not how I remember the story…"

He clenched his small fists.

> "Why are things changing?"

---

That evening, Radha called him inside for food.

Karna smiled and sat beside her.

> "Ma… why did you and Baba never tell me where I came from?"

Radha looked surprised.

> "What do you mean, Karna?"

Karna gave her a gentle smile and shook his head.

> "Never mind. You're my Ma. That's all I need."

Radha stared at him, feeling something had changed.

But she didn't press.

---

That night, Karna stood outside, looking up at the stars.

> "Surya Deva… I know you're my father. You may not say it because of curse but I will find a way."

He raised his hand, and for a moment, the sun symbol glowed faintly on his forehead, visible only to the Trimurtis and Tridevis.

It faded quickly.

> "This world… this story… it's different. But I'm still Karna. And I'll live this life… better."

He turned around and walked back into his home.

He was not just a charioteer's son.

He was the child of the sun.

And now, he remembered everything.
