Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

As the days passed, Victoria began to open up to Amanda about her past. She shared stories of pain and struggle, of family conflicts and personal demons. Amanda listened intently, offering empathy and understanding.

Victoria`s words painted a picture of a difficult childhood, marked by neglect and emotional abuse. Amanda`s heart went out to her friend, and she felt a deep sense of compassion.

As Victoria shared her experiences, Amanda realized that her friend`s prickly exterior had been a defense mechanism. Victoria had built walls around herself to protect herself from the pain and vulnerability of her past.

Amanda`s understanding and empathy helped Victoria feel seen and heard. For the first time in her life, Victoria felt like someone truly understood her.

As their friendship grew, Amanda started to notice some similarities between Victoria`s past and her own family`s history. She brushed it off as a coincidence at first, but the more she learned about Victoria`s life she felt like she was looking at a reflection of her own family`s struggles.

One day, while going through old family photos, Amanda stumbled upon a picture of her twin sister Emma, who had passed away when they were kids. As she looked at the photo, she felt a shiver run down her spine. The girl looked identical to Victoria.

Amanda`s mind was racing with questions. Was it possible that Victoria was somehow connected to her family? And if so, how?
