Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Research

Shajin didn't need to guess what Sandrone wanted; every time they met, she and The Doctor always looked at him with hungry eyes, like wolves eyeing prey, as if he were a delicious piece of meat, ready to be pounced on and torn apart at any moment.

Life was tough. Shajin sighed, feeling helpless and bitter.

Shajin took out a Cecilia flower and handed it to Sandrone. The flower was pure white, gleaming like a brilliant pearl.

"I hope Puppet-sama can be a bit gentler with me," Shajin's voice was low and gentle, as if pleading for Sandrone's mercy.

"Heh, I will be," Sandrone replied, casually tucking the flower into the book beside her, as if it were just an ordinary piece of paper.

Sandrone eagerly grabbed Shajin's hand and started walking towards the laboratory, her steps light and urgent.

Sandrone first drew a blood sample from Shajin for analysis, then conducted various tests.

"Strange, although everything looks excellent, there doesn't seem to be anything unusual about him."

Sandrone furrowed her brows, staring at the data in front of her, deep in thought, her eyes filled with doubt and confusion.

She had originally thought that the man in front of her must have something special, but now, it didn't seem that way.

Could it be that her research methods were flawed? Or was this person truly just an ordinary human?

Sandrone decided to try again, this time conducting a more thorough examination of Shajin's body structure and genetic sequence.

She brought out the most advanced equipment and began conducting a full-body scan.

As time passed, Sandrone's furrowed brow deepened, as though the lines on her face were carved deeper by her growing frustration.

Finally, she reached a conclusion: "This person truly has no abnormalities. Aside from his physical abilities being far superior to the average person, there is nothing extraordinary about him."

Sandrone felt a bit disappointed. She had thought she would discover something new.

But she didn't give up. She decided to continue searching for other clues to see if she could find more information about this person.

After all, as a scientist, she wouldn't easily give up on any possible lead.

After a while.

Sandrone stared at the data, her brows tightly knit, as if faced with a difficult puzzle.

Meanwhile, Shajin, sitting with his shirt off, leisurely chewed on some jerky from the far north, looking relaxed and carefree.

"Are you trying to study where my Imaginary powers come from?" Shajin spoke up.

Sandrone nodded, "Mm, I've never seen this kind of power. It's like…"

She paused, seemingly searching for the right words.

"…like it doesn't belong to Teyvat, right?" Shajin finished her sentence, a slight smile curling at the corner of his mouth, revealing a mysterious grin.

"Yes, that's exactly it." Sandrone's eyes brightened.

"Your intuition is spot on. This power indeed does not belong to Teyvat. It comes from beyond Teyvat."

Shajin's gaze deepened, as though he could see through the endless void to a distant, unknown world.

"When I first grasped this power, I understood its origin."

"I walk the 'Path of Preservation,' as a 'Traveler,' and I can feel that many others walk this same path. But there are none on this Teyvat continent who do."

Shajin continued, his eyes shimmering with thoughtful light, like two brilliant stars.

Sandrone fell silent for a moment, then slowly spoke, "Is it because of this false sky?"

As an executive, Sandrone knew some secrets that ordinary people couldn't even imagine, even though she rarely left her quarters.

She was aware that Teyvat's sky didn't truly exist, but was rather covered by some powerful force.

Shajin nodded, "I believe that's the case."

"Then why are you different?"

"This is also the reason I agreed to become a Harbinger~"

"I see."
