Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

"Call the police!" Ava said coldly, clearly annoyed. She had been in the middle of explaining something to a customer when this idiot interrupted her.

"How much?" Ryan Thompson replied nonchalantly.

"What the hell are you pretending for? This table is made of Gold and crystal; even if you sold yourself, you couldn't afford it!" Ava scoffed.

"How much?" Ryan repeated, his tone growing firmer. At that moment, the manager heard the commotion and stepped out, his face darkening.

"What's going on?"

"Boss, just wait a sec. I ran into an idiot," Ava said Sweetly, her tone dripping with sarcasm as she addressed the bald man.

"No problem, I was getting bored anyway," the bald man said, lighting a cigarette. Ava walked over, pointing at Ryan with disdain.

"Manager, this idiot just smashed the chair! We should call the police!" The manager frowned and glanced at Ryan. "Do you realize what you've done?" He knew that if they called the police, they might

never recover the losses.

"How much?" Ryan asked again, sticking to his line. The manager raised his hand and scrutinized Ryan for a moment. "This piece of furniture was sourced from our boss's own furniture store, and it's priced at $80,000! That's the price!"

"$80,000? This idiot probably doesn't even have $100 to his name! Manager, I think we should just call the police and not waste any more time! There's no way

this fool has any money!" Ava laughed mockingly, clearly enjoying the drama.

The manager raised his hand, and Ava's face was filled with sarcasm.

"Only 80,000?" Ryan Thompson shook his head in disbelief.

"Seriously? You're just pretending to be rich, huh? If you can pull out a grand, I'll take your last name!" Ava scoffed, her disdain evident.

The other employees joined in, mocking him. How could someone with no money act like this? What a character!

"You might as well stick with your own last name," Ryan replied, shaking his head as he pulled out his card.

"Charge it!" The manager's expression changed as he walked over, taking the card and handing it to the front desk.

In less than Ten seconds, the front desk attendant returned, bowing respectfully as he presented the card and the bill. "Sir, please sign here."

"No need," Ryan said, tossing the bill into the trash can, his eyes narrowing. The manager was taken aback, and the employees were dumbfounded.

Even the bald guy watching the Scene was surprised. What was going on? Did this guy really have money? Ava was stunned and furious. "Are you out of your mind? How could this idiot possibly have 80,000?"

"I'm not mistaken," the front desk attendant shook his head. "This charge can't be wrong."

"'Sir, then what was that about..?" the manager hesitated to ask.

"I was here first," Ryan replied. The manager instantly understood Ryan's implication and coldly turned to Ava. "What's going on, Ava?"

"Manager, this idiot must only have that much in his card! He can't afford a house, no way!" Ava insisted, convinced. She knew people like him too well. When

he swiped the card earlier, he must have felt like he was bleeding inside, but he was just putting on a show.

"Can't afford a house? There are other agencies besides yours!" Ryan shook his head and turned to walk toward the neighboring real estate office.

"Still pretending? The cheapest place in the city costs Over a million. Can he afford that?"

"Of course he can't! Just look at him, he looks so poor he probably can't even buy a bathroom, let alone a house. What a joke!"

"Hey, this kid is pretty clever. He found an excuse to run away." They were all gossiping, eager to see Ryan Thompson make a fool of himself.

After all, they knew the people next door and could easily find out if he had bought a house. Ava sneered, "Still pretending? What an idiot!" She walked over to the bald man and smiled, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, boss." The bald man shook his head.

"No problem. Just show me something in the range two point five million. If I like it, l'll put down a deposit right away."

"Sure thing."Ava, dressed to impress, swayed her long legs as she grabbed the documents. But suddenly, the whole store fell silent.

All the employees were staring outside because Ryan Thompson was getting into their exclusive viewing Bentley, escorted respectfully by the staff from next door.

Was he actually buying?

The people present exchanged glances. "Hmph, just looking at houses. What a show-off," Ava scoffed. At that moment, an employee from next door walked

over with a smile. "Thanks for sending such a big client our way."

"Big client? How big?" The manager's face turned green with envy. "Ha, five hundred thirty thousand, and the customer just put down a hundred thousand deposit. Thanks a lot!" The employee smiled as he headed toward the viewing Bentley, leading Ryan Thompson to see the property.

"Is he really buying?" Ava stared in disbelief as she saw Ryan Thompson calmly looking at her from inside the Bentley, a smile on his face. "No way! That broke loser, how could he possibly have...?"

"Smack!"

The manager angrily raised his hand and slapped Ava across the face, his eyes blazing with fury. "Get

out! You're fired!" Five hundred thirty thousand dollars-just the

commission alone was worth tens of thousands!

And just like that, it was given away to someone else? The manager felt like his heart was bleeding as he

glared at Ava. "Get the hell out of here!"

"No, no... that client is mine, it's mine!" Ava rushed outside, her face plastered with a forced smile as she pleaded, "Sir, please don't leave! We have better properties available, I can give you a discount, sir..."

"No thanks, keep your discount for someone else," Ryan replied as the Bentley roared to life. Ava stumbled and fell to the ground, watching helplessly as the car drove away.

Smack!

The manager threw all of Ava's personal belongings out, shouting at her, "Get lost! I don't want to see you again!" Ava stared blankly at her things scattered on the ground, wondering what she had done wrong.

Meanwhile, Ryan Thompson was very pleased with the property. A three-bedroom, two-living-room

apartment right in the city center-definitely a good investment with great potential for appreciation. He planned to sign the contract with the owner tomorrow.

"Sir, where do you live? l can give you a ride back," the salesperson said with a big smile, feeling the

confidence of Ryan Thompson, who seemed to embody the spirit of the wealthy.

"No, thanks. Just drop me off here," Ryan replied, shaking his head. They were almost at the school, so

it was time to get out.

"Alright, take care. I'll call you tomorrow, and you should be able to move in the day after," the salesperson said.

"Sure," Ryan nodded. That was pretty quick. He planned to go back and pack his things, staying in a

hotel for a couple of days. He was curious to see Andria's reaction when she found out that his new place was three times bigger than hers.

After getting out of the car, Ryan headed to the nearest ATM and withdrew thirty thousand, stuffing

the cash into his backpack before walking into the school. As soon as he entered the classroom, all eyes were on Ryan.

Skipping class?

Bold move!

Jasmine sneered, "Oh look, our richest classmate is back! Let's give him a warm welcome!" The class erupted in laughter. It was true; Ryan looked cheap, wearing what seemed like bargain-bin clothes, and he only had five outfits. What was he doing in school if he was this broke?

"This guy owes me money and still has the nerve to ask for more time. What a loser! If you're broke, why

are you even in college? You should be out working!" Jasmine crossed her arms, looking at Ryan with a

mocking smile.

"My family needs a waiter, and I can get you a job for Ten bucks a day. Just a word from my dad, and you're in. Honestly, you look like you're meant to be a waiter," another classmate chimed in, grinning with derision.

The class burst into laughter again.

"Jasmine, how much does Ryan owe you?" one student asked.

"Five hundred! That's my daily allowance, and he probably takes a month to pay me back. Can you believe it? People like him waste money on education!" Jasmine replied.

Ryan walked over. "Pay up, did you hear me? If you don't pay today, not

only will I send someone after you, but the amount you owe will double! Got it?" Jasmine glared at Ryan, extending her hand and raising her voice, "Pay up!"

The other students watched Ryan Thompson with a look of amusement, clearly enjoying the show. "Thanks for lending me the money," Ryan said earnestly, pulling out five hundred dollars from his

backpack.

Jasmine froze, staring at the cash in her hands, surprised and double-checking to make sure it was real. "Where did you get this money? You didn't steal it, did you? Hey, everyone, check your wallets!

Has anyone lost money?" Jasmine shouted.

The entire class instinctively checked their bags, shaking their heads in response. Jasmine narrowed her eyes at Ryan, suspicion written all over her face.

"Tell me where you got this money! If you got it through some shady means, I'll call the cops!"
