Chapter 3 The first obstacle [2]
"It says here that reinforcements will be coming and upon the reinforcements arrive, we will proceed with the strategy."
"Its good news this time" Mathieu thought.
"Thank god reinforcements are coming"
The other major generals looked relieved upon hearing a reinforcement was coming.
"But what about the new strategy, what is it about Lieutenant General Mathieu?"
The other major generals questioned.
"His majesty the Emperor called his new proposed strategy Blitzkrieg" Mathieu replied.
"It's about scouts moving in the front followed by light to medium tanks making the wall"
"And the center lies our main forces which delivers supplies and other things" Mathieu explained.
"The new strategy proposed by himself majesty the Emperor is us moving fast in short and getting them caught off guard"
Mathieu concluded.
500,000 men had been deployed since the war had begun and a portion of that had been isolated.
Which was roughly estimated about 90,000 men. Mathieu thought.
He was worried that this new strategy that was unheard of might even work or worse it might just lead their army to their deaths.
But he had no choice but to follow the order from his superiors.
A day had passed since the paper arrived and there Mathieu could see the reinforcements at the distance coming.
An hour later… One of the military suv moved forward and stopped.
The reinforcements had arrived.
"I'm Lieutenant General Lucia, the one in command of the reinforcements" Lucia introduced herself.
"I have received orders to cooperate with you Lieutenant General Mathieu" Lucia informed.
"There's about a 100,000 men in the reinforcements, 300 tanks total but they vary in quality and build"
"Also more food provisions, ammunitions"
"Lastly different types of guns ranging from heavy to light around 20,000 of them" Lucia added.
"That's nice to hear" Mathieu replied.
Mathieu looked at Lucia, she was a beautiful woman in a military uniform with blue hair, blue eyes with an average height.
"She's the most beautiful woman I have ever seen" Mathieu thought
"There's about 410,100 estimated of my men left in the battle and 500 tanks ranging from heavy to light"
"We still have enough ammunitions and food provisions to provide us for about a month"
"And combining all of our total current forces adds up to 510,000 men, 800 tanks varying in quality and build"
"And more than enough food provisions to last us for a total of 2 months"
"The extra guns given to us are a nice addition incase we have any weapons that's damaged"
"And need immediate replacement" Mathieu explained.
"I heard that his majesty the Emperor personally intervened"
"And proposed a new strategy called Blitzkrieg by his terms, Am I right Lieutenant General Lucia?" Mathieu asked.
"You are correct Lieutenant General Mathieu" Lucia replied.
"Now as me and the other major generals already know the details, I will be direct to the point"
"I assume you also already know the details Lieutenant General Lucia?" Mathieu asked.
"That's correct Lieutenant General Mathieu, have you already made preparations?" Lucia questioned.
"The other major generals and me have already made preparations"
"We are ready to depart by tomorrow" Mathieu explained.
"As planned we will depart tomorrow" Lucia informed.
A day had passed.
In the frontlines, The Allied Nation's army continued their patrol at their trenches everyday as usual.
The trench was in a zig zag appearance and was comprised of 3 layers of defense and the last layer of defense layed the artillery.
Then suddenly a fast moving force could be seen at the distances.
The scouts began to alarm and shouted "Enemy Attack!" "Be prepared!"
"Prepare the artillery bombardments!"
"Hurry up, get into your positions!"
There were countless noise as people began to be ready for the battle.
The scouts looking back again noticed the unusual army composition.
In the distance they could see the Empire's forces.
Rapidly moving through the barren land filled with countless holes by artillery bombardments.
They could see forces in the front followed by fast moving tanks.
An unconventional strategy, they thought.
The Empire's forces looked like an arrow shooting their way.
After observing they quickly left the battle.
The scouts quickly returned back at the allied nation command outpost.
Meanwhile as the battle raged on.
Countless bullets stormed through the battle and artillery bombardments could be heard every minute.
Then suddenly, an engine could be heard breaking something.
It was the Empire's forces breaking through the first line of defense.
"Enemy breach!" "Hold your positions!"
"Don't let them get to the second layer of defense!"
Countless shouts could be heard as the officers was trying to control the situation.
While trying to control the situation, engines could be heard breaking through the first line of the defense.
"Enemy breach!"
"We can't hold off anymore!"
"Damn it what do we do!?"
The allied soldiers were panicking, trying to gain control of the situation.
Until an officer shouted "Retreat to the second layer of defense!"
"Retreat!"
Countless allied soldiers quickly followed suit and retreated to the second layer of defense.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Another breakthrough was made again.
Countless bullets raged throughout the battle.
"Prepare armor piercing rounds and prepare anti tank rounds!"
The officers commanded.
Boom! A sound could be heard, it was the tank breaking.
"Quick prepare more!"
"We can't let them get through!"
Screech! Another tank was hit.
"Artillery bombardment incoming!"
"Everyone hide!" the allied soldiers shouted.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Countless holes were formed after the bombardment.
After a few minutes, silence filled the atmosphere.
Suddenly countless noise of engines were roaring through the second layer of the defense.
The second layer of the defense had been broken through.
"Shit!" One of the officers shouted
"Quick, retreat to the last layer of the defense!"
"We must hold them off here or else they will go straight to our capital!"
"Everyone who retreats here will be terminated!"
The officers shouted angrily.
"Damn it!" "Do they want us to die here!?"
The allied soldiers shouted back.
Artillery bombardments were no longer effective at close distance.
The allied soldiers fought fiercely at the trenches trying to hold them off.
As the battle continued, they could hear an incoming artillery sound.
It wasn't from their side but from the enemy.
"Enemy artillery incoming!"
"Run!"
"Everyone hide!"
"We're not gonna hold on anymore!"
"Ahhh!"
"I don't care anymore, let's run!"
One of the allied soldiers revolted.
"Everyone retreat!"
"We must hold them off at the capital!" The officers shouted.
