Chapter 6 - Arriving at Okhema

Seeing Derick covered in blood, Jason quickly found him another set of clean clothes to change into and gave him a waterskin so he could wash off the bloodstains.

Watching the refreshed Derick, Castorice couldn't help but glance at him a couple more times. Tribbie crossed her arms, her small head bobbing uncontrollably.

"Little Derick really is cute. Cuter than Little Mydei and Little Phainon."

Derick felt that 'cute' wasn't really the right word to describe Mydei and Phainon.

Jason then said to Derick and Tribbie, "Let's go, Lady Tribbie, Derick. You get on the Earth Beast first. We've wasted too much time here; we need to hurry back to Okhema."

"Okay." Tribbie nodded, then looked at Derick. "Little Derick, come up with me."

"Alright, Lady Tribbie."

On the way over, Castorice had briefly introduced Tribbie and the others from Okhema to Derick, saving him the trouble of going through introductions again.

The two climbed up the Earth Beast's neck onto its back. Tribbie sat down directly, her chubby legs spread out, her round little face puffing up as she looked down, resembling a sticky rice ball. Derick felt an urge to reach out and pinch her cheek, but considering Okhema's laws, he restrained himself.

"Let's move out!"

Jason shouted, and then he and the others started walking towards Okhema. Hearing the command, the Earth Beast also began to move its thick limbs, following Jason slowly.

Castorice kept some distance from the others to avoid affecting them.

Sitting on the Earth Beast, Tribbie asked Derick, "Little Derick, where are you from?"

"Me? From a remote little village called Crete..."

Derick used his previous story again. After all, in this era, countless city-states in Amphoreus had fallen into ruin, let alone small villages with only a few hundred people. Investigating his origins would be practically impossible.

At this moment, he couldn't help but feel fortunate that he had transmigrated without any clothes or belongings. Anything obviously different from Amphoreus creations would arouse suspicion. If his non-Amphoreus origins were ever revealed, causing panic, Aglaea would definitely not be lenient in dealing with him.

Hearing Derick's words, Tribbie's face showed sympathy. She patted Derick's calf comfortingly and said, "I see. Don't worry, from now on, Okhema is your new home."

"Mm, thank you, Lady Tribbie."

Hearing Tribbie's comforting words, Derick subconsciously wanted to reach out and pat her head. But catching her gaze, Derick quickly pulled his hand back.

"Little Derick, don't think about doing anything improper. Although I'm small, in terms of age, I'm old enough to be your great-great-great... Ouch, bit my tongue... Anyway, I'm old enough to be your great-great-grandmother." Tribbie put her hands on her hips, speaking to Derick in a dissatisfied tone.

"Understood, Lady Tribbie."

"That's more like it." Tribbie nodded with satisfaction.

Jason, walking below the Earth Beast, said to Derick, "By the way, Derick, you don't have a place to live in Okhema, right? As it happens, I have an empty house in the city. You can stay there for now."

Derick had arguably saved all of them this time, so Jason naturally wanted to reward him properly.

"Thank you so much, Jason," Derick quickly expressed his gratitude.

With his avatar ability, surviving in Okhema shouldn't be a problem. But having a place to live first was essential. Jason's help made his start in Okhema much easier.

"Don't thank me; we should be the ones thanking you."

Castorice listened quietly nearby, wanting to memorize the address Jason mentioned. Derick was the only person she could touch, and Castorice still cherished the feeling of contact.

As the group chatted, the caravan finally reached the urban area of Okhema.

Okhema's daytime sky made Derick, who had been in darkness for so long, feel much better. Being in the dark for extended periods inevitably weighs on one's mood; people need to see light.

On the stone-paved road, besides the caravan members, Tribbie, Castorice, and the others, many other pedestrians appeared. In this city, the last bastion of light for humanity in this apocalyptic world, people's faces showed relatively peaceful smiles. Dressed in light, Greek-style clothing, they seemed quite relaxed.

Looking towards the other side of the road, Derick saw a giant humanoid figure in the distance.

The tall giant carried a round, luminous object on its back, providing light for the city.

"That is the world-bearing Titan, Kephale."

Tribbie pointed at the giant, explaining to Derick. At the same time, she glanced sideways at Derick, observing his expression.

"Mm, I've heard of him before. I didn't expect him to be so magnificent."

"Little Derick, Okhema has many fun places. When you have time, Tribbie will definitely take you around." Tribbie simply stood up on the Earth Beast, excitedly telling Derick.

Another equally small figure climbed onto the Earth Beast, saw Tribbie standing like that, and immediately said to her:

"Tribbie, standing on the Earth Beast like that is very dangerous."

"I know, Tining." Seeing the red-haired girl with her eyes covered, Tribbie obediently sat down. But she still pointed at Derick and said, "Come, Tining, this is Little Derick."

"Little Derick?" Tining tilted her head and greeted Derick.

"Greetings, Lady Tining."

After the greeting, Tining asked Tribbie, "By the way, did you encounter anything unusual during your patrol outside earlier?"

"Mm-hmm." Tribbie nodded vigorously. "I have something important to tell Aya. Let's go, Tining, let's go see Aya first."

Saying this, she took Tining's hand and started to walk down from the Earth Beast.

Before getting off, she glanced back at Derick.

"Little Derick, you guys wander around Okhema for a while first. We might see each other again later."

"Mm."

Derick nodded.

He knew that the situation between him and Castorice would definitely attract Aglaea's attention.

"Little Castorice, come with us to see Aya." After getting down, Tribbie called Castorice to leave with them.

Castorice followed behind Tribbie and Tining. Before leaving, she glanced back at Derick and waved slightly to say goodbye.

After the three of them left, Jason also breathed a sigh of relief.

"Being around those important figures from the Golden Ones is really stressful. Let's go, Derick. I'll deliver the goods first, and then I'll show you around Okhema properly."
