Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

That night, the sky was covered by a radiant full moon, the same one that seemed to silently bless the newly sealed union between the couple: Noah and Theo. The celebration of their wedding had ended hours before, and now they were in the presidential suite of a luxurious hotel, where they would spend their first night as husbands.

Before the ceremony took place, Theo had spent long private conversations with Black, Noah's father. Although the bond between them wasn't something common, Theo had proven to be much more than an exception. Intelligent, sensible, and with a natural talent for business, he had managed to gain the approval of the imposing patriarch of the Everhart family.

Black, who led the country's most important airline, Everhart Air Lines, didn't take long to offer him an important position within the company. The idea of having Theo not just as a son-in-law, but also as a strategic partner, seemed like a privilege. Even days before the wedding, he had personally taken him to tour the facilities and meet the executive team.

Meanwhile, in the shadows, Hera —one of the goddesses in charge of the balance between humans and supernatural beings— kept a close eye on him. Theo's presence, a fox spirit, represented a threat. Hera had orders to eliminate him, but she had to do it without involving humans and without raising suspicion. A mistake could unleash a tragedy of immeasurable proportions.

—Noah —Theo called softly as he closed the suite's door.

The omega, still dressed in his long white ceremonial suit, turned at the sound. His white hair shimmered under the dim chandelier light.

—Yes, Theo? —he answered calmly. The room was decorated with rose petals scattered across the bed.

—Let me help you take off your suit.

—I can do it myself.

—From now on, we share everything, remember? Just like you always help me with my tie every morning, I want to help with this too —Theo murmured, walking until he stood behind him.

Noah lowered his gaze and smiled, feeling a familiar warmth in his chest. Although Theo was an alpha with supernatural powers, his way of loving was simple and tender. He treated him as if he were something precious, fragile… even if Noah wasn't.

With careful hands, Theo began unbuttoning his husband's suit. The subtle sound of the fabric sliding echoed in the silent room.

—Noah… —Theo whispered—. I'm not like the others. In me runs both human and animal blood… I'm a hybrid, a spirit. That's why… I can't touch you the way I want. I'm terrified that our bond might create another being like me. And being like me… isn't easy.

Noah's smile slowly faded. The revelation was unexpected, but understandable. He hadn't expected anything physical for that night either. But Theo's words, filled with sincerity and fear, struck deeply in his heart.

Theo took a kimono-style robe, made of white silk, and carefully placed it over Noah's shoulders, tying it with a ribbon around his waist. Then he hugged him gently from behind, burying his face in his neck.

—You're a good person, Noah… I'll always take care of you.

Noah lightly gripped his hands, feeling the alpha's comforting warmth.

—Thank you, Theo —he whispered.

—Go take a bath, before the night gets too late —Theo said with a slight smile, releasing him gently.

Noah nodded and walked toward the bathroom. Theo watched until his figure disappeared behind the door, then turned around.

But just as he was about to sit on the bed, he felt it: a shift in energy.

And there she was.

Hera.

She had materialized in front of him, frowning with eyes glowing in fury.

—You! —she shouted as she launched a lightning-like attack.

Theo dodged it with agility, letting his tails appear and his eyes turn golden like the sun. Hera attacked with precision, but he wouldn't fall easily.

—Damn treacherous fox! Disappear from this world! —the goddess screamed, launching herself at him again.

—Wow… —Theo smiled while defending himself—. It's the first time I see a goddess so angry. And it turns out you're quite beautiful… —he joked.

Using two of his tails, Theo trapped her, immobilizing her quickly.

—Now leave. My husband will be out of the bathroom any minute, and I don't want him to see you —he growled.

CRACK!

With a swift and violent movement, Theo hurled Hera forcefully through the window. The sound of breaking glass echoed like thunder. He didn't know where she fell, nor did he care. And with a snap, Theo repaired the window.

Just then, Noah came out of the bathroom, wearing only the robe.

His eyes widened upon seeing Theo's tails extended and floating with a fierce aura. He instinctively took a step back.

—Theo…

Theo turned around immediately and, noticing Noah's expression, his tails vanished in a breath, and his eyes returned to their human shade, dark and serene.

—Noah… did I scare you? —he asked, approaching slowly.

Noah swallowed.

—No… I was just surprised. It's been a while since I've seen your tails —he admitted honestly.

Theo smiled gently, and when he reached him, he caressed his face tenderly.

—Sorry. Next time I have to show them, I'll let you know first.

Noah smiled softly again.

—Then… show them to me now.

—They're not toys, Noah —Theo replied with a playful smile.

Noah just laughed, hugging him confidently.

And so, the night was just beginning.
