[Timeskip – Naruto, Age 13]

Now let me tell you what happened during the five years that passed.

At thirteen, Naruto was already a member of the ANBU. Over the years, his name had spread like wildfire across the Elemental Nations, earning him the infamous title "The Demonic Flash." Most who engaged him in battle never lived to tell the tale—only flashes of his attacks were ever witnessed.

Many enemy forces believed that attacking him in large numbers would be enough to overpower him. That theory was proven deadly wrong.

When Naruto was just nine years old, Kumogakure, in alliance with Iwagakure, decided to eliminate him, seeing him as a growing threat. With the Raikage's approval, a joint ANBU strike force was deployed to take him out swiftly, and if possible, deal a blow to Konoha's rising power.

To the Raikage's utter horror, none of the elite shinobi returned. The entire force was annihilated.

Enraged by the loss, the Raikage attempted to protest, but Minato—now clearly seeing his son's terrifying potential—personally threatened him. If he dared make another attempt, Konoha would respond with devastating consequences. The Raikage backed off immediately, recognizing the risk was too great.

Meanwhile, Naruto's reputation continued to grow. His name became legend throughout all five Elemental Nations. Even Orochimaru took notice.

As we fast-forward to the present, Naruto was returning from yet another successful mission with his ANBU squad. To be honest, most of the ANBU operatives looked at him with a mixture of awe and futility—on every mission, they were reduced to bystanders. Naruto ended each battle so swiftly and brutally, they were barely needed.

In the five years since, Naruto's strength had grown to near-unimaginable levels. His training had gone beyond what most shinobi could even conceptualize. He was now capable of training under 50,000 times gravity, and could increase it even further if he wished. His control over ki, the mysterious energy source beyond chakra, had advanced to a degree that defied logic.

During this time, Menma and Mito were being trained by their family. Jiraiya, still convinced that they were the true Children of Prophecy, poured all his efforts into teaching them every jutsu he knew.

However, Minato had begun to doubt Jiraiya's claims.

Even if he tried to deny it, the feats of his firstborn, Naruto, could no longer be ignored. His achievements were not only celebrated across the village but known throughout the entire Fire Country. Even the Fire Daimyo himself had requested Naruto as his personal bodyguard.

But Minato had declined.

"It's Naruto's choice," he said.

Naruto, however, didn't want to be tied down by anyone—his goal was to keep growing stronger.

At the moment, Naruto was extremely bored. Very bored. So, to alleviate the monotony, he decided to officially join ANBU.

Currently, he was standing with his squad in front of the full Konoha Council. Itachi was present as well, though he mostly worked alone these days. In truth, any team that included Naruto was practically guaranteed to succeed, no matter the mission.

Standing before the council, Hiashi Hyuga gave a small, respectful smile to Naruto. At just thirteen years old, Naruto had reached elite shinobi status. Many whispered that he could already rival Minato Namikaze himself—especially when Naruto used his full speed. Minato, to be honest, was immensely proud of his son, even if he hadn't personally trained him. Still, he watched Naruto with a father's pride glowing in his eyes.

Minato turned to the assembled team and spoke, "Team, today we have a special mission. A high-priority assignment."

The ANBU members gave their attention, standing still in silent readiness. Minato continued, "The council has decided to accept an offer from the rebellion forces in Kirigakure—the Hidden Mist Village."

A few surprised expressions flickered beneath ANBU masks, though none of them showed it outwardly. Naruto, however, stared at Minato with a bored look, barely masking his disinterest.

Minato was used to this attitude from Naruto by now. He'd even considered sparring with his son just for the challenge—though something always came up to interrupt that idea. At this point, Minato even suspected that Naruto might give him a serious run for his money in a real fight.

After all, he had seen that strange speed technique Naruto used. Minato still believed it was some kind of custom jutsu Naruto had developed—something that allowed him to move at blinding speeds. It was fast. Far faster than anything Minato had seen in the village.

And if they were ever to fight, it would come down to two things: speed and power.

Minato didn't doubt that Naruto might surpass him in terms of raw power, though he still believed—or rather, hoped—that his speed could remain unmatched. With that thought in mind, he turned to Naruto and continued:

"We've decided to support the rebellion forces in Kirigakure. Therefore, we're assigning your squad to the mission. Itachi will also be joining your team."

Naruto simply nodded at the announcement. Minato then looked directly at him and said, "Naruto, step forward—Dragon "

Naruto, whose ANBU mask was that of a dragon, stepped forward without hesitation.

"You'll be the squad leader for this mission," Minato declared.

Naruto nodded again in silent acknowledgment.

"Your main objective," Minato continued, "is to ensure that the rebellion forces win. Aid Mei Terumi in becoming the next Mizukage, and secure the scroll that will establish a permanent alliance between our villages. Do you understand?"

Naruto gave a curt nod. He had already figured out the mechanics of such missions years ago. To him, this one was simple: go in, crush the Mizukage's loyalist forces, and help Mei Terumi ascend. Easy enough.

"It shall be done, Lord Hokage," Naruto replied firmly.

Minato gave a slight nod, silently hoping that this mission might provide some form of entertainment for his son.

This squad was no ordinary ANBU team—two of its members, Naruto and Itachi, were classified as S-rank shinobi. The other members, while not as renowned, were still elite ANBU operatives. The moment Minato dismissed them, the team vanished from the room.

As the room quieted, Minato let out a breath and turned to face the rest of the council.

Shikaku Nara was the first to speak up. "Lord Hokage, I don't question your choice. This team has the most accomplished mission record in ANBU history. However, sending only a single squad into the middle of what is essentially a civil war—do you think that's wise?"

Minato gave a knowing smirk. "Don't worry. This mission will be nothing for them. After all, we're sending in two S-rank shinobi."

He leaned forward slightly. "You and I both know that S-rank is only awarded to those capable of wiping out an entire battalion of shinobi single-handedly. And if I'm not mistaken, a battalion consists of about 200 shinobi, correct?"

Shikaku nodded reluctantly. "Correct."

"Well then," Minato said with quiet confidence, "both Itachi and Naruto could each take out a battalion by themselves—easily."
