Chapter 10 - Alien

All day long, Bren's mind was exceptionally clear. All the knowledge seemed to have a logical flow, rather than being a tangled mess. He was completely absorbed in his studies, leaving Felicia far behind in his thoughts.

As for after school, something far more important awaited him.

The moment he walked out of the classroom, he ran into Peter, who was rushing out of another classroom in a hurry.

"Hey, Bren!" Peter greeted him, visibly happy. "Did you change your mind and decide to go with me to find Dr. Connors?"

He thought Bren had rushed out to join him.

"You're overthinking it, Peter. I told you, I'm not interested in this." Bren shrugged.

The truth was, he was indeed interested in Connors' biotechnology, since the Omnitrix created by Azmuth was closely related to genetics. But, with his current knowledge, he couldn't comprehend the serum and its formula. If he could transform into a hero, maybe that would be something he could understand, but he couldn't afford to expose himself in front of Peter and Connors.

After all, just this morning, he had killed someone in front of Tony Stark. Fast Flash Star would definitely be listed as a dangerous target.

In this situation, if other aliens appeared, especially those marked with the Omnitrix, it would be hard not to be under suspicion. Not only aliens, but Bren himself had to be careful not to draw attention to the small, worn-out watch on his wrist.

What's more, he didn't need to do this. The knowledge of cross-species genetics was in the briefcase Richard Parker had left for Peter. That was where the true essence of the matter lay.

"I just wanted to remind you, you can go to see Dr. Connors, but don't forget you still need to pick up Aunt May tonight." Bren said sternly.

Peter subconsciously nodded, "Okay, wait, how do you know I'm picking up Aunt May?"

He was surprised. After all, Bren didn't leave the house at the same time as he did this morning. Bren had left much earlier, so how could he possibly know Peter had promised Aunt May to pick her up?

"That's none of your business," Bren said. "By the way, let Uncle Ben and Aunt May know I'll be home late tonight."

After saying goodbye to Peter, Bren exited the school gate and turned towards a convenience store.

After buying a large bucket of cleaning agent, Bren then slipped into a corner of the alley, where there were no cameras.

"Well then—" He rolled up his sleeve, and the Omnitrix's core popped up.

"Fast Flash Star!"

——

"Fast Flash Star..." Tony rubbed his chin, feeling the slight prickliness of his stubble, and had J.A.R.V.I.S. create a brand new document.

The next moment, a virtual projection of a dragon-like humanoid appeared before Tony.

"He says his name is Fast Flash Star. What do you think he is? Did the dinosaurs from billions of years ago not fully go extinct?" Tony asked. Of course, he wasn't really expecting any useful answers from J.A.R.V.I.S.

To him, J.A.R.V.I.S. was more like a handy assistant, while he himself was the real mastermind.

"I don't know, sir. I've searched global databases, and I couldn't find any related data or credible sightings of dinosaur people." J.A.R.V.I.S. responded. "However, there is a group of people who claim to be primitive lizard men, though the data doesn't verify their statements."

"Forget those baseless myths." Tony said, examining the shadow scanned by J.A.R.V.I.S. closely. "He can't have just appeared out of nowhere. We need to build a database on him."

"Understood, sir." J.A.R.V.I.S. quickly created a new file.

"File Name: Fast Flash Star..."

"No, call him Dino Baby." Tony insisted, and a data model of Fast Flash Star was created before him. Using the data from their encounter, J.A.R.V.I.S. had already given a preliminary analysis of his abilities.

"His legs have a roller-like structure," J.A.R.V.I.S. broke down a piece of footage frame by frame, "In less than one second, he moved his legs 16 times. Keep in mind, sir, this is his usual speed, which can reach at least 300 miles per hour. His speed only increases after that."

"When moving at high speeds, his roller-like toes can secrete some kind of lubricant to reduce friction."

J.A.R.V.I.S. brought up a slowed-down video, the surroundings frozen in place, but Fast Flash Star's movement still seemed incredibly fast. At least now, they could see the details.

"The roller structure..." Tony stared at the shadow of Fast Flash Star, deep in thought. "If that's the case, he must be more prone to slipping than regular people..."

He almost immediately identified a weakness in Fast Flash Star.

For a high-IQ genius like Tony, friction was something he had understood thoroughly since he was a child.

"Looks like next time I'll need to add some lubricant to the Mark IV suit, or maybe some foam adhesive, what do you think?"

With a potential way to counter Fast Flash Star, Tony seemed satisfied, but then, other questions arose.

"What's that?" He pointed to the Omnitrix symbol core on Fast Flash Star's chest. "This doesn't look like part of his body, but more like..."

He even thought it resembled his own Arc Reactor.

"Do you think he's a modified organism?" Tony asked.

From his perspective, Fast Flash Star didn't look like a naturally evolved being. His roller-like toes aside, the mask on his face, which could be lowered, seemed anything but biological.

By applying current biological concepts, it was impossible to understand the existence of a different worldview.

"Probability is zero, sir." J.A.R.V.I.S. replied. "X-ray scans didn't detect any signs of internal modifications. The foot's roller structure matches the X-ray of the bones, indicating it's a naturally grown biological structure."

"This is impossible!"

"Though it may sound fantastical, this is the reality." J.A.R.V.I.S. responded emotionlessly. "This is likely a new species that has never been discovered before."

"There's no way a new species would appear with intelligence equal to that of humans, J.A.R.V.I.S. He even speaks English." Tony said seriously. "If he's not a modified organism, then he's at least evolved over millions of years!"

"Keep an eye on all cameras in New York. If Dino Baby or any similar creatures appear, let me know immediately. Also, investigate the person he killed—"

"Sir, do you believe he's not a solitary individual, but part of a group?" J.A.R.V.I.S. immediately understood Tony's line of thought.

"The environment on Earth couldn't have naturally evolved such a creature. If he didn't escape from a lab as an experiment, he's likely from outer space." Tony said.

"So, set up a new file, and name it 'Alien'!"
