Is been a week since the incident and the whole of Crescent fall high was like a graveyard, students moved like zombies and the time seems to be ever so slow.
Every student had heard of what happened well half of it, what they had heard was 'Alex Paris was stabbed and found bleeding in the middle of the park, late at night'. They also heard she's currently being hospitalized and in coma right now.
Alex wasn't even social or friendly with other students but yet she was popular and greatly admired, people visited her and dropped flowers and get well soon card. Her locker was also decorated with stickers and cards sticking out of it.
Mari and the gang were greatly affected by it, mostly Mari cause she took Alex as a sister. Arielle was the worst of them all, she was a mess and wouldn't leave her twin side not once, she didn't even attend school throughout the week cause she was a sobbing mess.
Mari remembered the day of the incident so vividly. Her and Arielle were bouncing with excitement and waiting for Alex to come back from her date and gist them how it went. They were sitting patiently on Arielle bed chatting away about random things to pass time. But Alex never came home that night, she didn't walk through the Paris gate, she didn't walk through her room door not even through her window. It was unlike her to stay that late, then they thought she had gone home with Jason but that's not also not like Alex, they had thought. After an hour or so of waiting, their elder sister, Amelia had called to meet her at the hospital.
She couldn't even get the image of Alex out of her head. Alex looked so pale and lifeless on her hospital bed with the weird wires connected on her body and then the oxygen pipe going down her throat. Mari cried seeing her best friend in that state, Alex heart was beating really fast and sometimes it would beat so faintly it made Mari scared but the doctors reassured her that Alex would be ok.
The doctors had said they found a substance that was coated on the body of the dagger, and apparently it's not good for the human system so it acts like a mild poison to them more like an allergy, which also causes the shutting down of their system.
They reassured her that they have drained out the poison in her blood stream all she needs was rest. Thankfully none of her organs was affected except the liver, it was pure luck that her liver wasn't damaged.
Alex had been in coma for eight days.
At that point in time she wished Alex was a werewolf so she would heal faster.
The police has also been on the case ever since trying to find out who did it. They questioned Jason since he was the last person to be seen with her that day, but he manipulated his way out of it.
Mari knew who did it, it wasn't a hunch or she suspects, she knows Jason was the one who tried to kill her. Who else would have access to the emerald dagger other than Carla and who also was the last person to be with Alex.
Mari also noticed Jason's emotion throughout the week, other students may think his grieving because his obsessed with Alex. But Mari also sense guilt beneath that grief, she hated Jason for that.

"How's Alex doing", Hannah asked. They were all settling down on their seats for class.
"Same thing. The doctors said her heartbeat is becoming stable now", Mari said. They all nodded. The girls looked tired but Mari looked worse, she looked so worn out, with her unbrushed hair and eye bags.
Noah was worried about his mate and kept on dotting on her.
"I heard there's a new girl in school", said Cleo trying to lighten the mood up.
"Oh yeah, she's a sophomore though and she's really pretty and her name is Jasmine", said Liv who took out a brush from her bag to brush Mari's hair.
"Thank you", Mari whispered tiredly.
"No worries", Liv said with a smile.
"The girl is weird", Hannah said licking her lollipop.
"All that by just seeing the girl", Cleo mused.
"Am serious I felt bad energy from her she looks like all those silent divas with a secret intent", said Hannah licking her lollipop.
"Hannah's just jealous that Scott talked and walked her to class", said Liv. She was already braiding Mari's hair.
Scott was fire fairy, tall, hazel eyes and brown curly hair. Hannah has had a massive crush on him since freshman year. Surprisingly never had the courage to talk to him even once.
"Please don't remind me of that awful image", Hannah groaned making the girls to laugh.
"Hey are you sure Jason's the one who stabbed Alex", Cleo asked Mari. She had told her friends about her suspicion from the incident but she hasn't told them she confronted Jason the other day.
"Yeah. I talked to him yesterday"
"He confessed", Cleo asked shocked.
"His mum forced him, both thought she was a royal until when she was half dead did they realize she's human" Mari said gritting her teeth. "the thing is if you stab a royal with an emerald dagger it doesn't make them to bleed, instead it spreads the poison round the body till it reaches the heart. The poison looks like a green vein like structure connecting to the heart on the body. And when you remove the dagger the wound closes immediately. It's a quick death within an hour well not so quick, there's no cure, well that's what I gathered", she said. The girls were stunned by the information.
"You can't injure a royal but can poison them to kill them", Hannah asked. Mari nodded at that.
*~*FLASHBACK TO YESTERDAY*~*~
After school hours
"I know your behind what happened to Alex, Jason", said Mari. She was finally able to corner him in the hockey pitch, the boy have been dodging her for the past week. He was currently sitting on the bleachers.
"You know if it was a movie you will be dead by now for confronting the killer", said Jason giving her a side glance.
"At least you didn't deny it was you", Mari said. There was silence for a minute before she spoke again "why did you do it", she asked.
"My mum made me", he said barely above a whisper.
"So your mum controls you or what, I thought you loved her Jason or where you just doing that to get close to her....what were you even thinking", Mari said then paused, "you thought she's a royal didn't you", she whispered to which he nodded. She had also had that thought when they started researching on Royals. At first growing up she thought she was a vampire because of her beauty.
"My mum told me what the royals did to her family and I hated them for it. When she found out about Alex and then she told me she was a royal, I couldn't believe it, didn't want to, after the stories I've heard. Their monsters you know", he said and sighed deeply.
"I tried my best to hate her but couldn't, mum saw my reluctance...", he scoffed then chuckled dryly. "I was supposed to do it on our first date, when I didn't do it, mum threatened to kill my sister...I've never seen my mum like that she looked so scary, crazy even....I had no choice Mari"
"But Alex isn't "
"I know, I made a mistake. Mum misread the signs she didn't even have a royal crest on her"
"If you felt so guilty why didn't you help her, why did you let her bleed on the ground huh", Mari yelled.
"I was scared ok", Jason yelled back, his eyes were red already and his claws coming out.
"Scared" Mari scoffed "your the fucking alpha of Moon pack and your scared of saving a girl's life"
"The way she looked at me Mari....so confused, hurt, heartbroken...I couldn't bring myself to help. I just couldn't look at her eyes Mari", Jason said trying to calm his rage.
"You haven't even visited her, have you", she asked but was met with silence "answer me Jason", she yelled.
"I doubt a killer has the right to visit their victim", he said.
"Did you even love her"
"You know I did Mari", he said then carried his school bag and walking out.
"Stop believing the bullshit your mum's feeding you cause where the ones at fault not them", Mari yelled at his retreating figure "they were never at fault", she softly whispered to herself.

Mari turned her head to the sound of the door opening to reveal their teacher walking in.
"Good morning class. Settle down please", Mr Albert said walking towards his desk and dropping his brief case on it.
"Gawd I hate chemistry", Cleo whined then layed her head on her desk "wake me up when the next period bell rings", she said closing her eyes
"Sit up Miss Oberlin, this topic is very important", Mr. Albert said causing her to groan and grumble as she raised her head. Her friends chuckled at her reaction.

Mari was pacing back and forth on the hospital hallway in front of Alex room. She couldn't go in, well not that she couldn't, she wasn't allowed to go into the room. Apparently the Paris had added extra security to her room ever since she was hospitalized and right now there were men in black standing at both sides of Alex's hospital room door. So now only if a Paris was in the room is she allowed to go in and which apparently Arielle was out for a coffee.
"Oh come on, you guys have literally seen me everyday for the past one week, just let me in", whined Mari. The guards looked ahead and didn't respond. One could mistake them as statues.
"Now I feel like a fool talking to myself", Mari said smacking her face. She heard a familiar angelic giggle behind her and looked to see Arielle. She hadn't seen the girl smile or laugh since the incident, so seeing this brought a smile on Mari's face.
"Hey, sorry for keeping you waiting", Ari said.
"No worries, I had company", Mari smiled towards the two human statue who made no movement whatsoever.
They both entered the room, Arielle smiled at Mari's shocked face.
"What...when....how....why didn't you tell me", Mari stuttered.
"Surprise", Arielle laughed doing the jazz hands. Mari looked from Arielle to Alex and back to Alex. Here is the thing, the wires and pipes that were connected to Alex body was no longer there, but that isn't the best part nuh uh. Alex Paris was freaking playing video games on her phone.
Mari rolled her eyes at that 'typical Alex', she thought.
She marched towards her best friend and dragged her phone out "I can't believe you chose to give your attention to your phone instead of me", she said with a pout.
"Oh Mari", Alex said with a smile now noticing her best friend. Mari smiled back at her.
"Hey you", Mari said then hugged her lightly not to cause pain.
"Someone misses me", Alex said with a smirk.
"Shut up", Mari rolled her eyes and punched Alex lightly on the shoulders.
"Ouch that hurts", Alex whined then pouted "the doctor said not to move anyhow", Mari just rolled her eyes at her best friend again.
"Yes I obviously miss you", Mari said with a smile then turned and smiled at Arielle who happily smiled back and shrugged.
"I guess were having a party", Arielle said excitedly.
"Urgh not again", Alex said and laid her head back on the bed.
Arielle and Mari just chuckled at that. Mari texted the rest of the girls to meet her at the hospital, without giving any information.
