Chapter 13 - Trials(6)

June POV

what a retarded situation to be in.This god-awful beast had been attacking relentlessly.

June had been fighting anything that moved since being dumped into this nightmare zone. At first, he tried to play smart building alliances Etc Etc but then he came to a very simple realization:

He didn't need to.

He could eliminate every student under Class A on his own.And the others? The A-Ranks? He could outlast them.Easily.

But right now?

Right now, he was locked in combat with a monster so massive and grotesque that it looked like the forest had grown teeth, rage, and a deep hatred for everything beautiful like himself

This thing wasn't a beast.

It was a siege engine wearing flesh.

A relic of the wilds

It towered over the forest like an ancient curse brought to life. Bark twisted into crude armor, limbs layered in knotted vines, eyes hollow glowing with cruel green fire.

June exhaled slowly.

He could feel it: the pressure in the air, the hum of mana rippling across reality like static. The ground groaned beneath the creature's weight.

And then

It moved.

No build up. No roar Just violence.

A massive limb more club than arm smashed toward him, trailing wind like a comet.

June didn't blink.

"Mana Art: Dragon Heart."

The world shifted.

Natural Mana converged on him. It surged into his chest, carved into his heart. It felt like drowning in fire as all the mana was being pumped out as his own He clenched his jaw as power flooded every vein. The air warped. His muscles screamed.

Then a beam came from the things mouth

A concentrated shot of condensed green mana, burning hotter than fire and heavier than steel.

"Mana Art: Flashstep."

He vanished.

Air cracked. Bark exploded behind him. His afterimage was burned into the forest wall.

He reappeared on the creature's flank, blade already moving.

But the creature turned.

The bark-arm slammed into him like a wrecking ball.

June felt his ribs give way before the pain hit.

Crack.

He was airborne.

His body twisted. Leaves tore at his skin. He barely caught his balance mid-spin before crashing into a tree, snapping it in half.

He hit the ground. Rolled. Bounced.

His sword slid across the earth, embedding into a rock.

June groaned.

He couldn't breathe for a moment.

Then

He moved.

No pause.

No hesitation.

His body acted.

"Sword Magic: Sword and Mind Separation."

The world dulled.

Color faded. Sound vanished.

Only motion remained.

Time fractured. He could see lines intersections of momentum, where limbs would swing,

Each step calculated.

The creature hadn't turned yet.

June dashed up its leg, launched off its thigh, twisted mid-air

His foot connected with its jaw.

CRACK.

The bone wood? split.

June landed, crouched.

Green light pulsed from the crack.

He saw it a second too late.

BOOM.

The explosion launched him skyward.

He tried to stabilize, but his arm wouldn't respond.

Burnt. Numb.

Then

Three beams.

He saw them from above, like divine punishment from below.

FLASH.

First beam hit his shoulder flesh scorched.

FLASH.

Second slammed into his chest Armor vaporized.

FLASH.

Third tagged his back his vision went white.

He fell.

Spinning. Falling.

But he didn't scream.

He clenched his teeth.

"Flashstep."

He disappeared mid-fall.

Reappeared directly in front of the monster's exposed chest.

It was already turning its arm to intercept.

He was faster.

His sword screamed.

He drove it in deep between roots, through core bark, all the way into that pulsing, corrupted heart.

The creature staggered.

And then the ground beneath him cracked.

No something was rising.

Dozens of limbs.

Thick. Rooted. Writhing with corrupted mana.

They shot out like serpents. Grabbed his ankles. His arms. His waist.

SLAM.

His back hit a rock.

SLAM.

His head bounced off bark.

SLAM.

A root drove into his side like a lance.

Blood spattered.

SLAM.

He was thrown into a tree. Then another.

Branches cracked under him.

The last throw sent him through the trunk and into a ditch.

He didn't move.

His breathing was ragged. Shallow. Wet.

The creature paused.

Its wounds glowed. Its eyes searched.

June's body twitched.

His fingers curled.

His eyes snapped open.

I actually have to use this again

Dragon Heart.

It pulsed again. Weaker, but still there. Like a dying ember refusing to fade.

He rolled to his knees.

Spat blood.

Stood.

His legs barely held.

But he lifted his sword.

And walked forward.

Step.

The creature turned toward him.

Step.

A boulder of bark-arm descended.

June raised his blade.

CLANG.

The impact echoed through the valley.

June held the blow.

His arms shook violently. Bones cracked. His knees buckled.

He screamed.

The sword burned in his grip.

Mana surged.

He roared and twisted, redirecting the momentum just enough for the arm to slide past.

He ducked low. Drove his blade upward into the joint.

The monster flailed.

It tried to retreat.

He didn't let it.

He lunged—driving his shoulder into its leg, then using his weight to twist his blade in deeper.

The monster shrieked.

Then it retaliated.

A whip of vines lashed across his face.

He spun, barely dodging a second strike.

One caught his arm tearing muscle from bone.

He dropped the sword.

hmph as if i would lose to a beast

He reached. Gripped it with his left.

Sloppy. Weak.

Didn't matter.

He spun.

"Sword Magic: Severance Spiral."

He unleashed everything left.

The blade howled. A vortex of cutting force formed at the edge.

He let it rip.

The spiral carved through bark, through arms, through the glowing heart.

The impact made the ground quake.

For a second

Silence.

Then—The heart ruptered

Green light burst outward like wildfire. The force sent June flying again, but this time He was laughing.

Broken. Bleeding.

But laughing.

He hit the ground like a corpse.

Didn't move.

The creature

Collapsed.

The glow fading

The forest fell quiet.

as a black haired came soaring through the skies blade aimed at the creatures heart

who? What are you doing June screamed

but he boy did not listen as a black arc of mana surged out his curved a spell that weak yet June couldn't do shit about it

it sliced the heart open and didn't burst it was to weak for that it flickered out instead

yet the boy screamed and shouted like he had killed a Dragon
