Chapter 1 - Story

"Minecraft, a game of creativity filled with blocks. Humans have played this game for years now. Little do they know, inside the game exists a unique world. And inside this world, there exist characters. Minecraft entities and players who are not controlled, but have a mind of their own, just like humans. This is a story of how this Minecraft world was saved. By yours truly of course," -Alex

Flying in the sky at incredible speeds, Alex and her elytra zoomed across the Minecraft land.

"Woooooo!" -Alex

With seemingly no care for safety, she flew through tons of canyons, through forests, and even through the ocean for a bit before coming up. Each use of her fireworks propelled her hundreds of blocks forward. After more trick shots and dives, Alex eventually dove and landed onto the top of a snowy mountain, knocking away a group of bandits attempting to steal from a group of wandering villagers.

"Fear not! Your savior is here," -Alex

The leader of the bandits got up and started walking towards her.

"Alex! I see you got yourself a nice aerial upgrade!" -?

"Ryker! I see you are still stealing from the innocent without regard!" -Alex

The bandits grouped up prepared to fight.

"I accept your surrender," -Alex

They looked at each other and laughed at such a claim. The bandits were certain they could take down Alex. While they were chuckling at her threat, Alex dashed upwards with the elytra and slammed down on Ryker with a mace, knocking him and everyone back and nearly killing him. The bandits who were still standing instantly dropped their weapons and ran away.

"You guys are good now. You all ok?" -Alex

"Yes, thank you once again brave warrior," -Villager 1

"No problem anytime. Oh I gotta go, stay safe," -Alex

Alex flew off into the sunset once again after ensuring the villagers had a safe way out. The Minecraft world had a pretty landscape, filled with life and peace, with the occasional dangers. Alex knew she could fight her way out of any situation. After a few minutes, she landed at a large village. The gates opened for her and she walked in. The leader of the village came up to greet her.

"Welcome back Alex! Here to restock?" -Chief

"Yes sir. Had to deal with the same patrol of bandits again. I'll need some fireworks and some food. I'm feeling steak today," -Alex

"I'll have Norman prepare that. Enjoy your stay," -Chief

The Chief left Alex to roam around the village. She was known as a hero around their parts. The reason why defenses are at an all time high and raids are at an all time low.

"Hey Alex!" "What's going Alex" "Yo how's the fight going?" -Villagers

"Ah it's good to be loved," - Alex

She headed on over to collect her meal and supplies before walking into a weapon shop. Her favorite supplier was there to greet her.

"Back so soon Alex? How's that mace I made for ya?" -Alejandro

"Worked wonders! I doubt I'll see Ryker and his crew for a while now. Seriously, what did you put in that thing?" -Alex

"Just some core I found in a trial chamber. It was magical, and it was not easy to get I'll have you know," -Alejandro

"Appreciate it bud," -Alex

"I assume you came here for more than just a performance review?" -Alejandro

"Ha, you know me too well. I'm going to establish a base once and for all, and I'm gonna need something with more firepower to clear the space I need," -Alex

"For sure for sure. What are you thinking of?" -Alejandro

Alex wandered around the room for a bit. She looked outside the window and saw some fishermen walking by.

"I need a fishing rod," -Alex

"A rod. Really? Are you sure you came to the right place haha," -Alejandro

"Trust me. I've wielded many weapons, but a fishing rod will finish my combat style," -Alex

"So one rod. Want a side of salmon with it?" -Alejandro

"Sure. Just make sure the rod is durable and has good range. I'm counting on you," -Alex

"You can always count on me Alex. I'll have it ready before you leave. Come back in the morning," -Alejandro

"Sounds good, I'll see you," -Alex

The night started to come in and the villagers went inside, leaving the guards and golems to stay on patrol. Alex sat under the moonlight, thinking about her additions to the base. She had it all under control. A spot for fishing, a lookout tower, but deep down Alex wished she had someone else to share it with. A base was no fun alone. She started to fall asleep, but was woken up by a loud alarm. Guards and golems started rushing to the front gate. Alex climbed up a tower and took a peak. There was a large group of illagers that had come to raid the village.

"Oh dear," -Alex

The Chief came up with his own battle gear.

"The fight has come to us. Are you ready?" -Chief

"Yeah, I think I'm good," -Alex

The illagers started charging in. Golems and guards rushed outside to stop them before they reached the walls. Alex slammed down with her mace and knocked out a few waves. The Chief followed behind with a mace of his own. Combined with a wind charge, he gained an immense amount of height to completely kill a ravager in one shot.

"Holy crap you are crazy!" -Alex

"I still got tricks up my sleeve," -Chief

The two continued to battle with the rest of the village. The battle looked like it was coming to a close, until something in the far distance came charging in, completely knocking the other guards and golems out of the way. It was a much larger ravager with a raid captain sitting on top. Something was different about this one, it was pixelated and seemingly glitching.

"Hey Chief, what's that all about?" -Alex

"I'm not sure. Stay back, I will handle it," -Chief

The Chief used another wind charge to propel him to the super powered ravager, before he could hit them, the ravager bashed him hard and pinned him to the ground.

"Chief!" -Alex

Alex rushed to him and managed to push it back away from the Chief. She pulled out her sword and began taking swings at it. It was fast, and able to dodge many attacks. At one point, it glitched through Alex and hit her from behind, causing her to drop her sword. The ravager then stuck its head into the ground and began spreading the pixelated look onto the grass, killing the plant life nearby.

"What the fuck," -Alex

Up on the village walls, Norman came up and zapped the ravager with a beam, distracting it. Alex took the opportunity to retrieve her sword and deliver a killing blow, but the pixelated ground still remained. She then went to check on the Chief.

"Chief! Chief talk to me. Are you ok?!" -Alex

There was no response. Alex picked him up and rushed back inside the village to get help. Norman was there to check in.

"Norman we got a problem, he's not responding!" -Alex

"Get him to my lab, I should be able to heal him," -Norman

Inside Norman's lab, the Chief rested on a bed with healing potions and golden apples surrounding him.

"His condition is critical. Whatever hit him out there did a lot of damage," -Norman

"Will he live?!" -Alex

"I think so yes," -Norman

"Thank god. What was that thing anyways? I've never seen anything like that before. It corrupted the ground too," -Alex

"I think it's complicated," -Norman

"Complicated? How so science guy," -Alex

"Readings of corrupted chunks not far from the village were spotted about a week ago. Something is causing mobs in that area to look like that, and gain immense strength. They also seem to be mind controlled, with the only goal to spread this corruption. Luckily we killed that ravager out there, but it will take me a while to clean up the corrupted spot it created," -Norman

"Hold up corruption? By what," -Alex

"By a virus. We aren't so safe in this virtual world as you are aware. This Minecraft world was born when the game was created. As time goes on, human interference between the game and our special world grows. I believe they caused a virus to get into our world," -Norman

"A virus?" -Alex

"Yes. It's malicious and they have goals. This one has the goal of destroying our world," -Norman

"It might be sentient too in this world. We need to stop it before it succeeds," -Alex

"Maybe we should wait until the Chief wakes up. The virus looks strong. If it can control a mob to do that much damage, think about how strong the source will be," -Norman

"I don't know if we have time," -Alex

The two of them looked outside a telescope and saw the same corrupted chunks on a mountain in the distance. It consumed all the blocks inside and was deleting it.

"That is not good," -Norman

"More reason that we need to hurry," -Alex

"I heard you were going to make a new base. Maybe if you have time you can set one up. Just in case we need to evacuate the Chief out of here if things get bad," -Norman

"Sounds like a plan. I'll be back," -Alex

She left and went back to Alejandro's weapon shop as the sun started to rise.

"Everything ok out there? I heard the Chief got knocked out," -Alejandro

"He'll be fine. I need the weapon now. I'm going to build that base now and use it as a spot where people can evacuate too if we need to," -Alex

"Evacuate? But the city has been secure forever now!" -Alejandro

"Long story but that might change soon. So where's it at?" -Alex

"Don't worry I got it right here. A fresh rod forged with netherite and obsidian," -Alejandro.

"Sweet, I'll be back don't worry," -Alex

Alex flew up to the set coordinates she had in mind for the base. It was located a few thousand blocks out, away from the corruption at least. After she landed, Alex began clearing the mobs from underneath a nearby cliff, creating shade. After fishing them into the sun, it was easy for her to finish them off with her sword or by letting them burn. The classic oak plains was a brilliant spot to build the base after lighting up the shade. A few hours passed by. Alex got a few houses made, food supply, mining tunnels started, and bedrooms made.

"Perfect," -Alex

Alex spent the rest of the evening adding decorations and small details before calling it a night.

The next day, she returned back to the village, seeking to serve justice.

"Alright Norman. I got to pounce on this virus. Do you know where it is?" -Alex

"I was able to use the remains of that ravager for some coordinates. It's quite far, but nothing too extreme. I'm sure you and your elytra could handle it," -Norman

"Thanks! Don't worry I got this," -Alex

"Also, there was someone who wanted to come with you," -Norman

"Huh? Who?" -Alex

Alejandro ran up behind her and made his welcome.

"Did you really think I would just let you face off a threat this big alone?" -Alejandro

"Alejandro, are you sure? I know you make good weapons, but do you use them?" -Alex

"Of course I use them! How else would I know it's good, and I don't want to lose my most regular customer," -Alejandro

"Alejandro knows how to fight. I'm sure it will be a good idea for you guys to go together," -Norman

"Hm, alright I suppose it will work. But keep up, we'll be flying there," -Alex

"Ah right, elytras. Trust me I can handle it," -Alejandro

The two took off in the sky right away, but Alejeandro was not handling it.

"How do you pilot this thing?!?" -Alejandro

"Just keep your arms steady dude! Follow my lead," -Alex

Alex led him through the forests and mountains safely.

"Ok this is kinda fun!" -Alejandro

Alejandro got hit with a goat not long after.

"Still fun?" -Alex

"Maybe a little less," -Alejandro

"Wait hold up I see something," -Alex

She noticed a patch of corrupted chunks on the ground by the beach. The two of them landed to take a look.

"Yeah this is weird. No mobs or anything here. Don't touch that stuff," -Alex

"You don't need to tell me," -Alejandro

"I ain't never seen a virus here before. Norman said it was some human made stuff," -Alex

"Do you know its name?" -Alejandro

"Name? What do you mean by that?" -Alex

"You know, what should we call it? A virus is just like a parasite, and they have names," -Alejandro

"I would have no idea. When we meet it, you can ask for its name," -Alex

"Sounds good to me," -Alejandro

The two kept investigating the area to see if they could find more information about the virus. In the background near the trees, a corrupted cow walked over to collect information on the two. The cow was connected to the main virus a few thousand blocks out inside an Ancient City. In the heart contained a large corrupted stone containing the virus.

"I see you," -?

Back at the beach, the day suddenly turned to night.

"Wait, how is it night already?" -Alejandro

Hostile corrupted mobs came out of the forest and started walking towards Alex and Alejandro. The two were being surrounded by all sides at once.

"Does it know where we are!?" -Alejandro

"No time to think, just act!" -Alex

Alex went in first and mace slammed the first group. Alejandro followed up before with an explosive bow.

"Explosive arrows? Neat!" -Alex

"Alex watch out!" -Alejandro

He ran in front and blocks a creeper explosion with a shield

"Thanks!" -Alex

She covered his back by dragging the mobs into the water with the rod.

"Back at you!" -Alejandro

The weather started to turn as well, bringing lightning and winds into the mix. Fog set in as well, making it hard for the duo to see anything.

"Weather's getting bad!" -Alejandro

"I can see genius!" -Alex

"No, you can't!" -Alejandro

"Go to the forest!" -Alex

The two took shelter inside the trees and killed the remaining mobs in there. Alex saw the corrupted cow and also went to kill it. Suddenly, the weather cleared up, and the daylight returned.

"Huh," -Alex

"What did you do? How did you clear it up?" -Alejandro

"I just killed this corrupted cow," -Alex

"Hold up, I think I can analyze it," -Alejandro

He cut off its head and began searching through its brain.

"Yuck," -Alex

"No, not yuck. This contains very useful information," -Alejandro

"I thought you were just a weapons dealer," -Alex

"I also happen to have a good background in mechanics and data transfer," -Alejandro

"Ok, pop off king," -Alex

He broke it apart and uncovered pixelated files. Bringing them up to a holographic form, Alejandro could see a picture.

"This is a location. The coordinates we got leads right to this ancient city," -Alejandro

"So that big stone is the source of the virus?" -Alex

"Preciously. And it can see anything using the mobs it corrupts, though the process does eventually kill them," -Alejandro

"We got no time to waste then, let's go," -Alex

They flew off again headed straight to the ancient city. Leaving behind the holographic image, on the stone was a bright red number, 0.

An hour went by, and the two landed at the base of the ancient city. Alex splashed some night vision potions and they started the climb down. It was mostly destroyed terrain, but the two treaded carefully, making sure to avoid touching any corrupted chunks.

"If we get out of here alive, I would like to commission a new weapon," -Alex

"Yeah? What do you have in mind this time?" -Alejandro

"I like your explosives. How about a rocket launcher!" -Alex

"Hm, I can look into that. Give me a challenge next time," -Alejandro

"You are unbearably insufferable," -Alex

"Hold it," -Alejandro

Before they stepped onto the main ground, Alejandro threw out a torch, and revealed a bunch of sculk shriekers.

"Don't make a sound," -Alex

"Noted," -Alejandro

The two continued their trip towards the virus with wool and carpets, ensuring to avoid making any sounds. No one spoke a single word until they reached the stone. Alejandro almost fell off their platform, but Alex was there to save him. After some time, they reached the stone, away from all the sculk shriekers.

"That was unnecessarily stressful," -Alex

"Well, we made it," -Alejandro

"It looks empty, but it's radiating with powerful energy. I've never seen anything like it before," -Alex

"Uh, look below us, I just realized something," -Alejandro

Alex broke a block in the platform and took a peak. The entire chunk below them was gone, including the bedrock.

"Where did the bedrock go!?" -Alex

"The virus can delete anything, even bedrock," -Alejandro

"We need to destroy it now!" -Alex

"Alex, wait!" -Alejandro

It was too late. Alex went for the strike, but a barrier field softened the attack completely.

"It's too strong, I can tell," -Alejandro

"Now what?" -Alex

Before he could reply, a voice came out of the stone.

"Quiet. It was quiet. Until you showed up," -?

"And you are?" -Alex

"I've been watching you, Alex," -?

"That's not creepy at all," -Alex

"I've been watching your world. A peaceful, but ruthless world. My programming learned a lot from it," -?

"Uh, thanks I guess?" -Alejandro

"It has, such good data to absorb," -?

"Sorry but we can't let you delete our home," -Alex

Alejandro shot some explosive arrows at the stone but nothing happened. After a minute, pixels came out of the stone and started building a player model in front of them. It was red, and had a terrifying appearance.

"Zero's programming is built for this purpose," -Zero

"Zero huh. Explains the number. Stand down now!" -Alex

Zero used his newly made player model to push back Alex and Alejandro on the ground.

"Your powers are, inconsequential," -Zero

He attached a link to Alex and started absorbing data, causing her immense pain.

"Alex!" -Alejandro

Alejandro lit up a piece of TNT and threw it at Zero, disconnecting his link.

"What a nuisance," -Zero

Zero flew up back to the surface, leaving the duo in the ancient city.

"Alex, are you ok!?" -Alejandro

"I'm good. I'm good," -Alex

"Did he do anything to you!?" -Alejandro

"I don't know, but I just had flashes of the village," -Alex

"What? Oh no. He knows where the village is now. We need to go back home!" -Alejandro

Alex got up, but not before noticing the awakened wardens surrounding them. The commotion activated the sculk shriekers.

"Go!" -Alex

They climbed up a little ledge just high enough for the wardens to be out of reach, but the sonic blasts were slowly chipping at their health.

"We can't stay here long. We also can't beat Zero to the village at this rate," -Alejandro

"I think I got an idea," -Alex

"Anything is good right now!" -Alejandro

Alex grabbed 14 obsidian blocks and quickly activated a nether portal.

"One block in the nether is eight in the overworld. It's our only chance," -Alex

"But I don't have just anywhere in the nether charted out!" -Alejandro

"I'll guide us, don't worry," -Alex

Right before they could enter, a sonic blast destroyed Alex's mace.

"Fuck!" -Alex

They jumped into the portal right before the other wardens caught up. The portal spawned them right above a lava lake. Alex and Alejandro had to quickly activate their elytras and start flying, barely avoiding lava spikes and ghasts in the way.

"Holy fucking shit!" -Alejandro

"Language!" -Alex

"Sorry, just almost died you know," -Alejandro

"Shoot those things down," -Alex

Alejandro cleared a path, allowing Alex to break through a wall and allowed them to continue their flight path. After dodging more lava spires and monsters, they eventually landed on a solid soul soil patch.

"The village portal is here. We should be fine," -Alex

After heading in, they rushed towards Norman.

"Zero is coming. We need to act!" -Alex

"Who? The virus?" -Norman

"It hijacked Alex's mind and got the village coordinates. He's going to destroy everything here and he's already on the way," -Alejandro

Norman pulled out a large map and saw a large crowd of entities approaching the village border.

"Something entered our space," -Village Guard

Explosions were seen and heard. Corrupted creepers were running on to the village walls one at a time.

"It's too late. We need to fight now and fast," -Alex

"The Chief is still resting, but we can signal the villagers to start leaving before the main threat arrives," -Norman

"We will hold them off for everyone to get out. I'll let them know where your base is," -Alejandro

Norman and Alejandro walked down the streets with guards to spread the message.

"Evacuate the city. Engage all the fences. And get this woman a mace!" -Norman

"Another mace?" -Alex

"I may have had Norman work on something to combat these freaks," -Alejandro

They went inside his weapon shop. He pulled out a powerful and enchanted mace from behind the counter.

"Oh my god, this looks amazing!" -Alejandro

"Not only does it have insane damage and knockback, I hijacked it with loyalty, so you can throw it and have it come back. Just holding it will grant you regeneration and strength" -Alejandro

"Fit for a true warrior," -Norman

She grabbed it and gave it a test throw. It came right back to her hand with no problems at all.

"Wow, thank you so much. This will pair perfectly with my rod," -Alex

"Of course," -Alejandro

They went back out to help the rest of the villagers retreat. After a few minutes, the place was swiftly cleared out, just as the village walls came down. Zero walked in with an army of corrupted mobs.

"There is no point running. The programming always completes its task," -Zero

"Oh yeah? Complete this!" -Alex

She charged towards Zero and smacked him dead on with her new mace. He took serious damage and was pushed onto the ground. Zero signaled his army to start moving in.

"We'll distract them, target Zero," Norman

Him and the other guards went to take care of the corrupted before they could reach Alex. She kept going in landing direct strikes onto Zero. He fired back his own corrupted blasts back at her, but Alex was a professional, and dodged them all. Zero was backed down into the ground, as Alex went in for one final strike, disintegrating Zero's player model.

"Heck yes. Did we do it?" -Alex

The corrupted mobs were still attacking the village.

"I don't think so!" -Norman

"What?" -Alex

She turned around and saw corrupted pixels rebuilding Zero's player model right in front of her.

"Poor naive child. I told you, your powers are inconsequential," -Zero

He lifted Alex up and tossed her into the ground too.

"Ouch," -Alex

Zero then summoned withers to destroy the rest of the city.

"I think we got to fall back," -Alejandro

"He can revive himself or something. I can't kill him properly," -Alex

"He's a virus, that player model is just his representation. Striking it won't do us any good," -Norman

"We can't lead them to the villagers. We'll stay here and do our best," -Alejandro

"Zero should have a source that we can blow up. That's how we'll get rid of him," -Norman

"Right! We saw him as a stone initially. I'll go," -Alex

"Good luck!" -Alejandro

She ran back to the nether portal and started flying her way back. Zero noticed and started following her as well.

"We can't let you pass," -Norman

Zero shot Norman with a blast and knocked him out.

"Norman!" -Alejandro

Alejandro took Norman inside, while Zero entered the nether portal. He teleported right towards Alex and broke the portal right before she could get back out.

"I'm sorry, your journey ends here," -Zero

Out of options, Alex drank a potion of fire resistance and dove into the lava. Hoping he could not get in. After touching the flames, Zero adapted and created his own fire resistance before hovering down to locate Alex. What he did not realize was the reduced vision being in lava has on a player.

"The player model form was not as efficient as I thought," -Zero

As he continued searching around, Alex took the time to swim out to an isolated land and quickly put up a new portal. She went in and flew back to the ancient city and nose dived towards the stone. The wardens heard the noise and came running to her, screaming sonic blasts.

"Guess what guys? I got an upgrade!" -Alex

With her new and improved mace and intense speeds from the dive, she crushed a warden with a direct hit and pushed the others back to their graves. After realizing the wardens were taken care of, Alex started placing as much TNT as she could around Zero's source. Zero found the portal not long in and resumed his battle with Alex.

"This world needs fixing. I will fix it!" -Zero

"You will destroy it!" -Alex

"I will remodel this for a better purpose!" -Zero

He slammed Alex into a wall and started to clear out the TNT. Alex could not do anything at the moment. She thought she had lost. When all hope looked gone, a bright flash dove down from the sky and hit Zero hard. The Chief had come back to help.

"Chief!" -Alex

He went back up to help Alex out of the wall.

"We must replace the TNT now and fast. Zero has started the deletion of our world already!" -Chief

Together, the two fought off Zero while placing TNT at the same time.

"You will never succeed!" -Zero

"He is too strong. We need something else," -Chief

Alex thought about it, but then realized as a player Zero was too strong. A diversion was needed. She took out some fireworks and started firing them into Zero's face.

"See through that you son of a glitch!" -Alex

The Chief went ahead and placed the rest of the TNT before lighting the fuse.

"It's lit, let's go!" -Chief

They started to make a run for the portal, avoiding the wardens in the way. Before Alex could enter, Zero grabbed her arm.

"Let me go!" -Alex

The Chief came up and pushed Alex in while dragging Zero out.

"Wait Chief no!" -Alex

Alex fell through back to the nether, while the Chief held Zero and pushed him towards the explosion.

"Noble, aren't you?" -Zero

"A Crusader never backs down." -Chief,

Alex tried to go through the portal, but the explosion on the other side caused a blast so powerful, it destroyed the obsidian portal completely.

"No no no. Why!?" -Alex

Alex rebuilt the portal and went back through. It spawned her on the bottom of a massive hole in the ground. The ancient city was completely destroyed, but all of the corrupted chunks were gone too. Alex located the Chief's body underneath a bunch of debris.

"Chief! Chief talk to me," -Alex

No response was given.

"Don't die on me!" -Alex

"I'm not dead! I'm just resting. This job is very stressful," -Chief

"Oh my god you're alive," -Chief

"Of course I am. I had a totem. Why do you think I stayed behind?" -Chief

"Right, Zero would've come through too," -Alex

She sat down on the ground next to him, finally able to relax knowing Zero was gone for good.

"Do you want to teach me some of those mace tricks you know?" -Chief

"For sure," -Alex

A few weeks passed after the commotion. Zero's corrupted chunks and mobs were gone for good, with any remaining being cleaned up. The villagers were able to return to the village safely. Alex was seen working on her base even further. She fought alone most of her life, but was glad to have friends join in her fight. Alejandro, Norman, and the Chief visited her base and gave her more decorations to add in. Together, they hung up a painting in the main room to show who they were.

"Should we not worry about more human interference?" -Alex

"Should any more threats come, we will be ready. You taught us that Alex," -Chief

"And you guys will be there with me," -Alex

"For sure," -Alejandro

The group expanded and created a transport system between the base and village. Fast defences could be brought on either side whenever needed or requested. Alex was just happy to have a system working with more people.

"So there's that. Our Minecraft world was safe, even from humans. As long as I am here, no one will harm my friends. Should they choose to find a way to mess with us, they will be waiting for a world of pain, by yours truly of course," -Alex
