My name is Bell Lestrade.
Or at least, that's what I think it is.
It was four years ago, or maybe five. I don't really remember.
I had woken up in a dark alley, with nothing on my person except for the clothes on my body, and a photo of me with the name of Bell Lestrade on its back.
And mysteriously, I had also lost all of my memories. Everything from my childhood to whatever I did before waking up that day.
Since then, I've been searching for my memories of what happened on that confusing day. But one fact soon became certain…
The fact that when I woke up, despite its similarities, the world that I was in was not my own.
***
Today was the 16th of March. The sky was dark, and the moon was hidden behind the clouds.
It was 7 PM. I'd just finished my shift early and was going to meet up with one of my friends. We had something important planned for today, something that I couldn't miss.
Something that might possibly be related to my memories.
I was beelining nearly straight to my friend's home. But as I was passing down Yenoybe street and took a shortcut through a small alley, the air suddenly felt extremely chilly, and I felt the presence of someone following me.
Throwing a quick glance behind me, I noticed a person in a gray hoodie. From their build, it seemed to be an average-sized man, but I couldn't be certain. I quickened my pace a bit and turned a corner to another path to see if they would follow me.
They did. And as if their pursuit couldn't get any more obvious, they started accelerating in their chase, to which I responded in kind. Even so, they were faster than me. At this rate, I was going to be caught.
I cursed myself in my mind: 'Damnit, I didn't have any talismans or charms for this. I knew I shouldn't have left them at home. Stupid, stupid, stupid.'
I took a gamble and changed paths as many times as I could. The brick walls to my side felt like they were repeating again and again, and I felt like just falling to the ground for a minute, but they were hot on my heels, and in the end, I lost a bet along the way and ended up backed to a dead end.
The mysterious figure closed up to me, and I was getting ready to try to fight back in case they got violent, when they suddenly stopped getting closer and pulled down their hood to reveal an unfamiliar man's face.
"What do you want?!" I yelled at him.
But he didn't reply. Just then… I noticed a straight red line go up the middle of his face, and blood started dripping out of the line. Then, his face started to slowly split open, with the two split sides opening like the gates of a mansion as if it was trying to reveal the pale visage hidden behind it.
And as the crimson blood streamed down the face, and the bone came into view…
I saw an unmistakable smirk on the skull's face.
"I got you good, didn't I?" the skull said.
It took me a second to process what just happened, before getting a bit closer to it…
"Oh, Calibri, it's you…" I muttered,
…And punching it right in its jaw.
"Ow ow ow! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, ok?"
"You nearly made me have a heart attack! I thought I was going to get kidnapped or murdered or something!"
"Alright, alright, it's my fault I got it, I'm sorry ok? Really. And also, I wanted to remind you to always take at least some protective measures while out and about, you know?" said Calibri with some desperation.
"I am mere inches away from grinding up your whole body and sprinkling the powder on my garden." I retorted with some exasperation.
***
Well, in that case, I guess it's time for introductions now, isn't it?
This insensitive idiot over here is Calibri. He was one of the first people I met in this world, and also the reason I could confirm that I was now in another world.
How could that be? Why, it's because he's a talking skeleton who wears a meat suit.
I had met him while I was walking on the streets on that day four years ago. He noticed how out of it I was and asked me if I was ok. I'd told him that I didn't know where I was and that I had no memory of anything. A bit odd of me to do to a total stranger, I know, but it is what it is.
He seemed to feel a bit bad for me, and I guess he took pity on my plight because he let me crash at his place for some time so that I could figure my situation out.
But one night, while I was rummaging through the kitchen at midnight, I heard the door open, thinking it was probably Calibro coming back from his shift at the security place he worked at.
I just greeted him like I usually did, before turning the lights on and looking at him, when instead of seeing that slightly thin young man as I expected… I saw a skeleton wearing crimson red robes with weird designs on it.
The two of us just froze for a minute before he seemed to finish processing what happened. He started stuttering something about how he could explain it and stuff, but in the end, he seemed to just give up trying to think of a reason for why he was a skeleton wearing a robe and just told me the truth.
"So, Bell… I'm a Skeleton. Natural-born too, none of that weird necromancy pseudo-magic. And… I guess I should just spill everything, eh?" Calibri said.
I listened quietly with what I can only assume was an incredulous expression plastered on my face.
"Basically, there's another, spiritual side to the world. The kind that has magic, and talismans, and ghosts and vampires and werewolves and stuff." He explained.
He paused for a minute before continuing: "The supernatural side of the world isn't really known by the majority of people, and those who do know it tend to keep it a secret."
I must've blurted something like "that's so cool" because he seemed to have this surprised expression (well, as surprised as a skull could look) on him.
"Huh, really? I would've thought you'd react a bit more… you know, negatively to this. Or at least with a lot more reaction." He said with curiosity and a hint of… disappointment(?) in his voice. Which, by the way, when I asked him how he made sound sometime later, he explained with 'bone magic'.
Anyways, apart from this little shock, he'd also brought pizza home.
Oh yeah, and the reason he was wearing red robes and wasn't in his meatsuit was because
"I forgot that I had to do my laundry today and just dropped it off at my usual."
He thought I'd already be sleeping by now, so he could just sneak in quietly. Unluckily for him, my biological sleeping clock was totally out of whack for some reason.
From here on, he started helping with stuff related to magic and the mystical side of the world, while trying to help me get my memories back. He taught me chants for the basics of spells, and also tried to teach me how to draw a talisman, which I sucked at because of my utter lack of skill with calligraphy.
Apparently, the Skeleton people were supposed to be the best in terms of talismans, so Calibri's inability to fix my chicken scratch seemed to drive him mad sometimes. In the end, he just gave up trying to teach me the art and just provided me with the end results when I needed them. In return, I'd help him with stuff like chores and act as his assistant during his experiments.
But even over the past half a decade, we couldn't find any leads relating to me. Nothing related to my name, who I was, or what I was doing. Nil, zilch, nada.
A year or so ago, though, he eventually got a lead that might relate to me losing memories.
There was apparently a bi-monthly auction that sold the memories of people. Before the auction, certain groups would collect memories in order to sell them as memory crystals for profit at the event. From what I had gathered, buyers wanted memories for a variety of reasons. From simply living someone's memory, or maybe experiencing something new, to information gathering and acquiring knowledge.
The people who had their memories taken wouldn't remember a thing. They wouldn't even realise that something had happened to them, and rarely would they ever notice, even until the death of their lives, unless the memory was important to them.
Some of the dreamstealers would even replace the stolen memories with fake constructs to make it all the more unnoticeable.
Considering how it was related to memories, Cal and I decided to join the auction as prospective buyers. Apart from that, Calibri also wanted to see if any of the memories on auction could be of interest to him.
The only problem was that it was bloody annoying to enter the auction. First of all, you had to use certain special lucid dreaming techniques so that you could enter the collective dreamscape. From there, you had to find the Midnight Bazaar.
Next, you had to find the Dream World Auction House inside the market. This wasn't that bad so far, but the next part was.
The last thing you needed was an invitation to the auction. To get one, you either needed to be recommended by someone who had already attended the auction, or you could pay an exorbitant amount of money to get one directly from the auction house. Which by the way, you could buy from their official website.
The last part took us a while. We eventually managed to get in contact with an attendee(who looked as if an elephant had its head attached to a horse's body with the claws of a wolf) and they let us participate in the next auction in exchange for some of Cal's finest talismans and pasta.
Did I ever mention that Calibri made damn good food when he has the time?
Anyways, today was the day of the next auction. Or night, I guess. We had to prepare for the rituals for quite some time before entering the dreamscape, so I started heading to his place as soon as I could.
Well, you know what happened then.
***
After I scolded the ears off of his suit for nearly killing me with fright, we went to his place and started preparing the necessary rituals.
He drew the diagrams on the walls with some kind of reddish paint while I set up dreamcatchers, some magic crystals (for currency), scented candles, and the weird smelling magic oils. Before long, we had everything ready.
Now all that was left was to chant some magic words and fall asleep.
"So, are you ready? Fully prepared? Got your stomach and mind filled?" Calibri asked one last time, as he lay on the sofa.
"Yeah, all ready," I replied, while lying on the honestly really comfortable rug.
"Don't forget to say your half of the locator spell once you enter, or we won't be able to find each other ."
"Gotcha."
After hearing this, Calibri started instructing me on saying the dream chant: "Alright then, now repeat after me."
"To the Twin Spirits of The Dreams, Numit Mang and Wakhal Mang, I beseech thee to guide me through the path of dreams."
I repeated after him.
"I pray for thee to help me through the misty lands of dreams, and to help me keep my way through the dense fog of the vast Dreamscape."
I repeated, this time feeling some drowsiness as I did so.
"I hope that you will help me keep my Self and my Will as I traverse through the grand lands made up of the dreams and desires of every living being."
The drowsiness caused me to nearly drop as I continued, and as I finished reciting after the skeleton, I fell into a deep sleep.
***
It was dark.
I was on a flat, gray rock.
It was in the middle of an endless ocean, which was more black than the darkest shade of it I could ever conjure. It seemed as though it would swallow me whole, never to see the light again. But even so, for some reason, I did not fear it.
The raging waves crashed against the little island while I stared into the bleak horizon. There was nothing in any direction, no matter how much I looked.
I stared up into the sky.
It was a blinding white.
It hurt my eyes even to stare at it.
But for some unknown reason, deep down, I knew that this was where I needed to go.
It gave me hope.
But I had no way to reach it. It felt so close, but it was so far.
But I closed my eyes, and I wished for a way to reach it.
And when I opened my eyes, I felt the wings on my back.
Large wings that could encompass my whole body.
And so I flew. Higher, higher, and higher. Until I was within an arm's reach of the bright light.
I reached out for it, and I pulled myself toward it.
And then finally, I entered it.
***
I opened my eyes.
I was lying on some grass.
I got up to look around me, to figure out where I was, and I noticed that I was standing in the middle of a flat grassland.
As I tried to understand where I was, I remembered the last thing I was doing.
I thought to myself: 'That's right! The dream ritual! Then… I must be in the Dreamscape right now. In that case, I should say my half of the locator spell. I need to get in contact with Calibri.'
I recited my portion of the spell, but I got no response. I must've said it wrong somewhere.
I said it again, still nothing.
I repeated it again and again, and was losing hope, until I finally got a response.
"...-ey Bell, is that you on the other side? Hello? Hello?" Calibri's voice finally crackled through the connection.
"Yeah, it's me, I'm here. Do you copy?" I replied.
"Alright, that's good. I'm going to try to come over to your position, okay? Just stay still." He instructed, before I faintly heard him whispering something, presumably a chant to teleport to where I was in the Dreamscape.
As I waited for him to come, I suddenly heard something from behind me. I immediately turned around and saw-
"Hey-!"
A naked skeleton.
I yelped.
Calibri seemed shocked by me, and started saying something.
"Huh?! What is it? Did something happen? I don–"
Then, he noticed. And immediately tried to cover himself up.
"Oh! Shit! Don't look! I'm going to fix it!" He muttered in rapid succession.
"I'm not trying to peek!" I retorted as I covered my eyes with my hands.
An awkward minute passed as I just stood there blind, hearing sounds of what I can only presume to be a skeleton dressing up as fast as it could.
"Alright, you can open your eyes now." Calibri finally said after the gruelling wait.
As I opened my eyes, I saw the skeleton dressed up in a tuxedo and a tophat, and I stopped myself from saying anything about that experience, and instead started asking about the plan.
"...Alright then, how are we going to go about this? How do we enter that market? And that auction?" I questioned him, since he didn't tell me anything about the process beforehand.
Calibri smiled(I think), and said to me: "I'm going to chant a spell that'll take us through the Dreamscape, and directly into the marketplace. From there, we'll just use the invitation we got to find and enter the auction house. By the way, this particular market isn't exactly above board, per se. So don't go wandering off. Got it?"
"Loud and clear, Commando," I replied.
"You've got your magic crystals?" He asked.
"Yes, all 60 of them," I replied.
"Then we're… Oh, right, one last thing: You need to cover up your face. We wouldn't want anyone to keep track of your face." He cautiously warned me.
"Alright, but how will I get a mask?" I asked him.
"Just imagine it into existence. It's that simple." He told me.
I did as he told, and closed my eyes and imagined a thin, featureless, gray mask with holes for my eyes in my hand. After opening my eyes again, I felt it between my features. It was cold, and I felt a metallic texture on it.
As I put it on, I asked Calibri if it was fine.
"It's good. Alright then, steady yourself. Travel spells of nearly all kinds always cause some kind of upset."
I hummed back in response to his statement.
He let out a little sigh before uttering some words that I couldn't understand.
Then, it hit. That sudden jolt of the body as I just flew past a million miles rattled every bone I had. I bent over as I felt like puking, but I couldn't.
Luckily for me, Calibri straightened me up before I could fall over.
He comforted me a bit: "The first time traveling is always the worst."
"Anyways, we're here. The Midnight Bazaar."
I looked around me and saw a variety of stalls in the dimly lit surroundings. Some had small crystals on their stand, while others had books. Some didn't have anything at all. There were also a few people who were on the road itself, trying to talk to passersby.
"Sir, sir! Why not take a look at what I have? It's state-of-the-art technology! Well, at least some info on it."
"Ah, traveler! You seem thoroughly worn out from your journeys! Why not take a rest with some of my special wares?"
And so on. But this wasn't what we were here for, and it probably wasn't what most of the other people were here for either, considering that everybody ignored these advertisers who didn't even bother hiding their faces.
Another thing that was easily noticeable… was the fact that a lot of the people here weren't exactly human. There was a person with glowing veins that they were trying to hide, albeit poorly; a person with tentacles for hair; someone entirely covered in fur; and so on. But that also wasn't what we were for.
Calibri took out the invitation and told me the way to find the auction house as we walked along the brick paved road. The crescent moon shone with little light through the cloudless sky.
"...and then we just have to take a left turn here, walk for a bit, reach the empty plot of land, and say the code word: 'Abrakadabra'."
I followed after him, going past the stalls under the dim moonlight, until we eventually reached the aforementioned empty plot.
I said the code word, and after I blinked, a large building appeared as though it was always there.
"Well then, I guess I should do the honours," Calibri said with a chuckle, and he entered through the open gates.
"Wait up for me," I said as I trailed after him into a large hallway.
The hallway was vast and had a gloomy atmosphere. There were no windows in the hall, and the only form of lighting was the torches that lined the wall and lit up the room with a yellowish glow.
Throughout the hall, I could see quite a few others. Other than that, there was nearly nothing else of note in the hallway.
But by what appeared to be the main entrance to the auction hall was a golden ticket booth.
Me and Calibri started walking up to it, while he handed me my invitation.
"From what I could learn, before we enter the hall, we need to show our invitations at the ticket booth. From there, we'll get an entry pass to get inside." He explained as we paced towards the booth.
I got the paper ready as I walked up to right in front of the booth.
The booth was made up of a yellowish, fully opaque glass that didn't allow anything of its insides to show. Apart from that, there was also a thin rectangular slit into which I assumed that I had to deposit my invitation.
Calibri went first. It was very simple, really. Nothing to describe. He put in his invitation, and out came a pass and what I presumed was a pamphlet. He turned back to wave at me before going into the auction room.
I did the same, and got my entry pass with the number 257 and a pamphlet that described how the auction worked for first-timers.
_______________________________

You seem new to the auction!
Let me explain some basic things!
Firstly, Do you see the number on the pass? Well, that's your seat number! It's randomly assigned for first-timers, but return customers can reserve a specific seat. You will find a sign with the number on your seat, which you will use to place a bid when you want to.
Second, A demo of some of the memories will be provided before the bidding starts. Potential buyers and purview these demos at any time.
Third, Items that you purchase will be given to you once the auction ends. Simply enter the room at the back of the auction hall and you'll get it! It's hard to miss.
Fourth, All transactions will be done in the form of exchanging memory crystals for magic crystals.
Fifth, Theft of any kind in the establishment is highly prohibited. Violators will be punished.
Sixth, No violence, fighting, or anything of the sort in this establishment. Violators will be severely punished.

Eighth, Don't forget to have fun!
_______________________________
Damnit, the seats are random? I was planning to ask Calibri about things during the auction. So much for that idea.
Putting the pamphlet in my pocket, I entered the auction room, and found myself magically already at my seat, with a sign with the number 257 on it. The room itself was large and spacious, with a large stage on the opposite side of the seats and a number of chandeliers and lamps brightly lighting up the area.. Speaking of which, the seats were somewhat large and soft, with some intricate designs on them. They were comfortable to lie in, and you could freely move the chair up or down a couple of feet.
After examining my seating, I gave the place a quick look around, trying to find Calibri, to no avail. What I did notice was that the person sitting next to me seemed to be rather out of this world. They had a head that was made up of glass and had some gooey stuff inside of it, along with a brain and some eyes.
The person right to me was also a bit odd. They seemed to, in fact, have a… Rubik's cube for a head. It just floated above the neck, where the head should've been. It spun around and seemed to be randomly making some turns as well. It was nowhere near solved.
But just when I was thinking of my seating neighbours, the lights from the surroundings dimmed, and what seemed like spotlights suddenly shone on the main stage, revealing a figure wearing a suit and top hat.
The person had a prim and proper air to them, and seemed to be highly professional. But what really stuck out was the fact that their head was just a huge eyeball. Despite the lack of any other facial organs, the being began to speak.
"Good evening my Ladies and Gentlemen, and welcome to the Dream World Auction House, where we auction off only the finest of memories and skills!" The gentleman spoke with a masculine accent.
"My name is Rayting, and I will be your host and auctioneer for today! I hope that you will all enjoy this auction as much as I will! Now, let us begin!" The crowd cheered. Wait, it wasn't the crowd, it was a pre-recorded message.
"Thank You, everyone! Now, first and foremost, I would like to disclose the number of items in this auction. There will be 4 non-spiritual memory shards, 2 magical ones, and one very special shard.
The host moved around on the stage like a dancer, before a box was brought out from behind the stage.
The host with the nose for the head started explaining: "For the starting item of this night, we have an ethically sourced memory. The memory involves the last moments before the death of an individual."
The host continued, "While not particularly valuable, it could prove as a useful aid in the research of the minutes before the end, or as plain entertainment. As always, a demo will be provided if you desire. Simply check under your seat for the preview of the memory."
I was actually quite curious about how this would work. I bent over on my chair and reached below it. It didn't feel dusty at all, and eventually I felt something. I pulled it out and found a plain brown wood box labelled "Preview—130-1".
'This must be it, I wonder what's inside'
I opened the box and saw a small, cloudy octahedron made out of a glassy material. I picked it up and felt a little tug on my consciousness. Was this how I was supposed to view them?
I let the pull take me in.
***
I'm lying down on my bed in the hospital.
I have no family to visit, no friends either.
My life was filled with regrets, but even as I lay on my deathbed, I didn't feel any worry. Rather, there is a certain calmness that is pervading throughout my body..
The ceiling is cracking from age. The hospital has been in disrepair for quite a while. The window is out of my sight, a little down the room.
'Well, this is the end anyway. Might as well take one last look at the Sun.'
I got up and started to slowly walk towards where I remembered the window to be. Along the way, I spotted a mirror.
From inside the mirror, an old, wrinkly mess gazed at me. The days really went by fast, didn't they?
I turned away from it. The window was just around the corner, I could see its light.
I coughed a little as I slowly ambled my way around the corner. And what greeted me was a clear glass window.
As I turned the corner, I saw—
***
I opened my eyes.
'Ugh, that was trippy. I felt like I was the person in the memory. Definitely a bit disorientating.
At then at the end, it also just cut out… I guess it's because it was a demo."
As I steadied myself, the host with the lips for a head already started talking again.
"Alright then, bidding starts at 3 magic crystals. So, who's starting it?"
"Do I hear a bid anywhere?"
"3 magic crystals," started someone. I think they were in the 300s section.
"Alright, 3 magic crystals from the gentleman at 358. Is anyone bidding for a four? A four, anyone?"
"Four magic crystals." I heard a feminine voice say.
"Four magic crystals from the lady in 682, any bids for five? Anyone?" the host with the yellow ball for a head asked the audience.
…
"And the first memory of the night is SOLD for 10 magic crystals crystals" said the host.
"Next up, a memory of a murder. This item involves the killing and dissection of a body. While it is of poor taste, the extremely detailed dissection is sure to prove useful for anyone in need of practical experience with working on the insides of a body. The demo is provided, albeit it is a bit hazy as well."
I was still feeling a bit dizzy, and I also didn't want to see someone die, so I didn't enter this one. I gave a little look around the area, and noticed that my neighbour to the left seemed a bit spirited. Their gooey head fluid was sloshing around, and the brain was spinning sideways.
The host started the bidding,"In any case, bidding starts at 5 magic crystals."
My gooey neighbour was the first to bid.
Then came a second bid from somewhere, then a third, and a fourth, you get it.
The person next to me eventually got the item after another bid at 16 magic crystals. They seemed rather elated because their eyes also wrapped their optic nerves around each other.
The third and fourth items on auction were that of a person's love turned obsession, and of the completion of a final painting masterpiece, respectively. The former sold for 12 magic crystals, while the latter sold for 15.
The host with the heart for head started doing excessive gestures, before he proclaimed, "Now begins the second act! Up next, we have two items that are both related to the mystical world."
"The first item on this list is a memory of a personal tutoring in the field of aeromancy. Our team here can confirm that the teachings in this memory, while not particularly high-level, are very in-depth with the basics. As such, no demo will be provided either."
A quiet whisper spread.
'No demo? I was looking forward to it a bit. But it makes sense, I guess.'
"Bidding starts at 80 magic crystals! So, who's up?" The host with the hand for a head asked. "80 magic crystals," boomed an ominous voice from the right side of the seating.
"Number 727 with 80 magic crystals. Anyone with an 85? A 90?"
"90 magic crystals." whispered a voice from nowhere.
"Number 125 with 90 magic crystals! Anyone with 100? Anyone?"
…
"Number 419 with 115 magic crystals! Anyone else? Going once, going twice, and SOLD to the man with the handsome moustache."
There was a pause. The host with the head for a head stopped for a second before he went on.
"Up next is a rather special memory. It is not a memory of a specific time, but rather a full historical memory. That's right, the whole life. And not just any old life, but one spent entirely in the Dreamscape! Due to its length, we have not been able to create a demo, but I am sure that everyone here can still understand its worth. As such, bidding starts from 100 magic crystals. So, who's first?"
'A full history memory? Was that the whole life? Does this mean that one could take someone's whole lifetime? Could this be… what happened to me?'
"100 magic crystals." Said an ethereal voice from right next to me. It was the Rubik's cube headed individual.
"100 magic crystals by No. 258! Anyone with a 110? 110?"
"120magiccrystals!" Squeaked a voice from somewhere.
"120 by Number 134! 130, anyone? Going once…" The host started counting down.
"180 magic crystals." Said a gentle voice from the leftmost seat.
"180 magic crystals from the lady at 021! 190, anyone? 180 going once, going twice, and SOLD to Number 021." The host with no eyes, no body, no nose, no face, no mouth, no ears, no hair on the head finished.
The cube-headed person next to me didn't seem particularly agitated.
There was a long pause by the host before he continued.
"Now then, next up is the final item of the night, and also the most valuable."
There was a quiet murmur.
"The memory involves the last moments of a dimensional wizard before inner collapse. No demo will be provided. Bidding starts at 300 magic crystals, minimum increment of 100."
The murmuring was so quiet anymore.
The whole room seemed to be in a state of shock.
The person to the left of me didn't seem to have much of a reaction, but the person to the right… Considering the sheer speed at which the parts of the cube moved around, they seemed to be having an especially surprised reaction.
"Bidding starts now." The host with the eye for a head said.
"300!"
"400!"
"600."
"750."
"900."
…
"...1800 magic crystals.", said the person next to me, after some time spent thinking. They seemed extremely happy when no one else bid, but then…
"2000 magic crystals," said a very familiar voice. Shockingly familiar. It was Calibri. Holy shit, two thousand magic crystals?
"2000 going once, and going twice, and sold, to No. 212." The host said with faint emotions. Maybe they were a bit tired?
"And that, ladies and gentlemen, brings an end to our lovely event. I hope that everyone has had a wonderful time! If anyone has any questions, they can ask me backstage. Toodles!" And with that, the host simply vanished from the stage.
I got up from my seat and started to walk over to Calibri.
I waved at him and he waved back, so I got up close to him and started whispering, "My god, two thousand? I didn't know you had that kind of money."
Calibri let out a little, slight embarrassed chuckle.
"Well, let's just say I stumbled across a fortune in the form of my grandfather's inheritance. Don't look at me like that! I swear! I was gonna tell you!" He hurriedly tried explaining in a hushed whisper.
"Its alright, everyone has their own skeletons in their closet." I replied while rolling my eyes. "Really? Skeleton puns? Ah, forget about it. Let's just get back- wait… move, quick!" He suddenly said.
I did as he said and turned around, only to see the Rubik's cube attendee suddenly show up behind me. They seemed mad.
But just as I was about to get out of the way, they suddenly grabbed me by the collar and stared into my eyes. I tried to get away, but to no avail.
"Hey, get off 'em!" Calibri said while trying to free me.
The rubik's cube headed person just stared right at me and-

"Stop that! Immediately!" Came a voice from the stage.
I let out a gasp of air as the gaze loosened.
It was the host.
"Violence is NOT permitted on these grounds! Leave this establishment immediately, or else, I will have to deal with you!" He ordered.
The cube headed asshole let me down, and left.
"Dear guest, are you ok? I hope that this did not ruin your experience here." apologised the host.
"No, no, it's fine." I replied, still shaken a bit.
The host seemed glad to have heard this, and gave some small apologies before he started leaving.
"Wait!" I shouted. "I needed to ask you something."
"Hmm? What is it, guest?" the host inquired.
"Ah, you see, I had a question regarding memories. Would it be ok for me to ask you?"
"Of course, guest! It's the last I could do."
"Ah, alright then. So, if a person was to say, lose all of their memories, then would it be possible for them to get their memories back?"
"Hmm," the host pondered for a second, "it could be possible, but… losing all of their memories would just leave a person in a vegetative stage, in nearly all cases. It would still be possible, but it would be extremely hard even if one has the full history memory crystals."
"Ah, I see… then, what if the person has lost all of their memories but isn't in a vegetative state?"
"Then… I guess it would theoretically be easy as long as one has the memory crystal." replied the host.
"Oh, and… and have there been any full history memory crystals sold in the past five years?"
"Yes, plenty. But… I don't think that any of them were what you would be looking for, respected guest." The host answered with a smile in his eye.
"...Then, thank you for your time." I bade goodbye.
"My pleasure!" The host said, before disappearing.
"Well, that was a great experience." Calibri said sarcastically.
"Mhm, it was. Although I didn't get anything much, it still was a good time. Also, you've got to explain things a bit more when we get home." I said in return.
"I get it." Calibri replied
Well, between everything that happened today, I guess the end result was still positive. I had some of my questions answered, some that weren't. There were still many things that I wanted to know, but I didn't have the means for it.
But I guess that's just how it is. I just have to keep on searching for answers, no matter what. In the end, I'm sure that I will find the truth.
