Chapter 1 - coming to this world

Mo Yan blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of the swirling chaos around him. One moment, he was immersed in the pages of a gripping novel, and the next, he found himself standing in a lush, verdant landscape that seemed to stretch endlessly before him. The air was thick with the scent of blooming flowers and the distant sound of rushing water. He looked down, startled to find that he was no longer in his own body but had instead transmigrated into the body of a young man in his twenties.

"What in the world..." he muttered, his voice a low rumble that echoed in the stillness. As he tried to gather his thoughts, a sudden wave of dizziness washed over him. Memories that were not his own flooded his mind—fragments of a life lived in a world he recognized from the pages of a fantasy series he had devoured: the Battle Through the Heavens.

"So this is the Duo Qi continent," he murmured, piecing together the memories of the body he now inhabited. The name Xiao Yan rang a bell, and he recalled the three-year agreement between Xiao Yan and Nalan Yanran, a pivotal moment in the story that had captivated him.

Mo Yan shook his head, trying to dispel the confusion. "This is incredible, but also terrifying. I'm in a fantasy world, but I'm not strong enough to protect myself. I don't want to get involved in the ancient clans' power struggles. I just want to live a peaceful life here."

He took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the world settle on his shoulders. The memories of the original Mo yan revealed that this body had no potential for cultivation, a fact that made Mo Yan sigh in relief. Yes this body owner has same name as Mo yan "If I can't cultivate, then I'll just be a small fisherman. That sounds perfect. I can live comfortably, away from all the chaos."

With a newfound determination, he steadied himself and picked up a fishing rod that leaned against a nearby tree. The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the landscape, and he felt a sense of calm wash over him. He made his way to a tranquil pond, the water shimmering like a thousand diamonds under the fading light.

As he settled down by the water's edge, he felt a sense of familiarity wash over him. Fishing had always been a pastime he enjoyed, and the memories of the original Mo yan experiences only enhanced his skills. He cast his line into the water, feeling the gentle tug of the current as he waited patiently.

Time seemed to slip away as he lost himself in the rhythm of fishing. With each catch, he felt a thrill of excitement. The fish were plentiful, and his expertise shone through as he skillfully reeled in nearly thirty fish, their scales glistening in the sunlight.

"This is easier than I thought," he chuckled to himself, a sense of pride swelling in his chest. He gathered the fish, placing them in a woven basket that he had brought along. The weight of the basket felt reassuring, a tangible reminder of his success.

On his way back home, he decided to sell twenty of the fish at a nearby market. The bustling atmosphere was alive with vendors calling out to potential customers, the air filled with the aroma of various foods. Mo Yan approached a stall, his heart racing with excitement as he exchanged the fish for a handful of coins.

"You've got quite the catch there!" the vendor exclaimed, eyeing the fish with appreciation. Mo Yan smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment.

With the coins jingling in his pocket, he made his way back home, the remaining fish nestled safely in his basket. The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple. As he walked, he couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment.

Arriving at his modest home, he prepared a simple meal with the fish he had kept. The aroma filled the air, and as he sat down to eat, he reflected on his new life.

"This isn't so bad after all," he thought, savoring the flavors of the meal. "I may not have power, but I have peace, and that's enough for me. I'll watch the battles from the sidelines, enjoying the show while I live my life as a humble fisherman."

With a smile on his face and a full belly, Mo Yan embraced his new reality, ready to face whatever adventures lay ahead in this fantastical world.
