Chapter 5 - My Ability is to Foresee the Future

Tobirama's residence wasn't far from the prison cell. It was a standalone two-story building across the street from the interrogation room, typical of the Hokage's architectural style—yellow walls and red tiles, resembling two stacked red umbrella mushrooms.

When they reached the door, Kagura clung to the doorframe, refusing to enter. Kagami, with his remarkably patient temperament, didn't rush her. He simply stood by, watching silently, occasionally smiling.

"Lord Tobirama has his own principles. There's no need to be afraid, miss."

Kagura shot him a glance that clearly said,

"Of course you're not scared, you're a man! I'm different—I'm a woman!"

After the two of them dawdled at the door for nearly five minutes, the entrance door was suddenly yanked open from the inside. Tobirama stood there, glaring at the two outside.

"Why aren't you coming in?"

Kagami smiled and glanced at Kagura. Tobirama followed his gaze and immediately understood when he saw Kagura's expression of utter despair.

"You can go back."

"Can I leave now?" Kagura turned to run as soon as she heard Tobirama words, but before she could take a step, the collar of her clothes was grabbed by a large hand.

She was petite and slender, often mistaken for a high school student—a euphemism for being underdeveloped and lightweight.

With just a slight tug, the man effortlessly lifted her off the ground.

"I was talking about him. Why are you running?"

Kagami nodded slightly and then turned to leave. Kagura was certain that Kagami was snickering as he walked away—what a jerk!

The door behind her closed, and the next second, Tobirama released his grip. Caught off guard, Kagura fell flat on the floor.

Seemingly disgusted, the man behind her spoke coldly, "You're filthy. Do you have fleas? Hey, you, go take a bath. The bathroom is on the left."

If Kagura had been thinking clearly, her last bath has been—half a month? Twenty days? Comforting than the thought of her own pure.

he couldn't remember how many days it had been nind, hearing the word "bathroom" felt more to the bathroom at full speed.

The bathroom was modern, with a bathtub and person. The sink counter was stocked with mu item for women.

isn't too big or too small, just the right size for one or—everything a man might need, but not a single

Tsk tsk. Kagura shook her head once again confirming that Tobirama was a perpetual bachelor.

She pitied him. As the saying goes, one single dog sympathizing with another single dog—it was laughable just thinking about it.

She washed her face and hair, lathered up with body wash twice, rummaged through the cabinets to find an unopened toothbrush, and finally cleaned herself thoroughly. Only then did she realize she had no clean clothes to wear.

The clothes she had been wearing when she crossed over were now so filthy that throwing them in the trash would be too slow. There was no way she was putting them back on. What could she do now?

Kagura glanced around once more and finally found a clean yukata in the corner cabinet. The dark blue men yukata had been washed spotless and still carried a faint scent of soap. It was indeed large—so large that its length nearly reached Kagura's height. She held it up against herself, and it draped over her like an oversized sack. But, something was better than nothing, so she decided to put it on for now. After all, she couldn't stay hidden in the bathroom forever.

Just as Tobirama took a sip of water, he heard the bathroom door open. He turned around, and in an instant, the water he had just swallowed sprayed out in its entirety.

There stood a petite woman wrapped in his yukata, looking like a child who had sneaked into an adult's wardrobe. Her slender frame was swallowed by the oversized garment, making the scene utterly comical.

"Hey, why are you wearing my clothes?!" Tobirama exclaimed.

Kagura, knowing she was in the wrong, couldn't muster much confidence. She muttered softly,

"I don't have any clothes to wear. The ones I had before are ruined. How about you lend me some money so I can buy a new set?"

Tobirama was speechless. Lately, it seemed like everyone was trying to get money out of him—his older brother Hashirama, his students, and now even this stranger.

The woman who seemed to appear out of nowhere—was it because he looked wealthy, or did everyone just see him as an easy target? Tobirama couldn't figure it out.

"We'll talk about money later. We have other things to do. Come here," he said, patting the empty spot beside him, signaling Kagura to sit down.

At that moment, Kagura suddenly grew wary. Tobirama words resurfaced in her mind.

Back when she was obsessed with anime, she had often fantasized about transmigrating into various worlds, imagining all sorts of romantic scenarios with countless handsome men and beautiful women.

But now, with a real person sitting right in front of her, the reality of it all made her hesitate. Thinking and doing were two entirely different things. Though she talked a big game, she had never been in a relationship or done anything remotely intimate. Now, she was panicking.

She clutched the collar of her yukata, trying to cover herself more tightly. Cold sweat dripped from her forehead as she glanced at Tobirama and then at the entrance not far away. Was it still possible to make a run for it?

Tobirama saw right through her thoughts. He smiled and said, "My Flying Thunder God Technique is incredibly fast. Have you heard of it?"

"Yes, yes. In a few years, someone even faster than you will appear. But, uh, isn't it a bit awkward for a man to brag about being fast?"

Ugh, now wasn't the time for banter.

Tobirama face turned pale, then red, then green, and finally black. He was about to lose his temper, but when he saw Kagura frowning, eyes closed, looking as if she were waiting for her doom, he sighed and swallowed his anger.

"Alright, come sit here. I won't scare you anymore. I'm not interested in a little girl like you. I'm much older than you, after all. I won't do anything inappropriate."

Hearing this, Kagura suddenly realized that Tobirama was probably around forty years old at this time, which was indeed much older than her.

She could even call him "uncle." However, as a famous fictional character drawn by Kishimoto, he looked young and handsome, which made her unconsciously overlook his age.

"Then why did you call me over?" she asked tentatively, still keeping as far away from him as possible.

"You haven't committed any crime, so I can't just keep you locked up forever. But I still need to clarify your identity."

"Ah, I understand. But I really can't remember much. I only know my name—Kagura."

"What do you do? I can't sense any chakra from you. Are you not a ninja?"

"Are you kidding? How could I have something like that?" Seeing Tobirama puzzled expression, Kagura quickly corrected herself, "I mean, I'm not a ninja. I'm just an ordinary person. If I had to say what's special about me, it's that I know everything. I have the ability to foresee the future."

"Huh?" His red eyes filled with disbelief.

"It's true, I'm not lying. Here's the deal," Kagura said confidently, trying to convince him, "I can definitely tell you some things about yourself—things that only you or those very close to you would know."

Seeing her so confident, Tobirama curiosity was piqued. He narrowed his eyes and looked at her with interest.

"Oh?"

Kagura laughed inwardly. You wouldn't expect it, would you? I've watched the entire series. There's nothing I don't know. Whatever you want to know, I can tell you.

"Alright then, do you know when my mother passed away?"

"Huh?" The first question stumped Kagura. The original work didn't even mention who his mother was. How could she possibly know that?

Tobirama sneered, as if to say, I knew you were bluffing.

"Let's try another one. How old is my eldest brother son, Aomatsu, this year?"

"Aomatsu?" Kagura looked utterly confused. "Who's Aomatsu?"

"You don't even know who Aomatsu is?" Tobirama raised an eyebrow. "Well, now I can at least confirm that you're definitely not from Konoha. Otherwise, you wouldn't be unaware of my eldest brother firstborn."

Kagura was furious. What kind of nonsense questions was this guy asking? Your family is just as weird as you are.

The older generation of four brothers combined to form a house, and their sons and grandsons were like trees. What was the purpose of this? To grow up and cut down the trees to continue building houses?

You're all so strange!

"I've already told you I'm from China..."

"Then why did you lie? Lies are usually meant to cover up something else. So, what exactly are you hiding?"

"I didn't lie!"

"But you can't even answer these two questions. How could you possibly foresee the future?"

"You call that the future? That's clearly the past!"

Sophistry.

The veins on his forehead were about to pop out. Tobirama let out a cold snort, feeling deeply annoyed that he had been outsmarted by her.

"Lord Tobirama, why don't we talk about the future instead? You... hid Madara Uchiha body, didn't you?"

Kagura suddenly brought up Madara, which Tobirama hadn't expected. He looked at her in surprise, testing the confident smile on her face.

"How do you know?"

"...I also know you want to study the Mangekyō Sharingan."

"I also know that you were actually deceived by Madara. That body was a fake. He understood your personality perfectly and used the fact that you wouldn't destroy his body to fake his death and escape."

"That's quite interesting, but I don't believe it."

"Then let me say something else. Right now, the Nine-Tails should be sealed inside Mito Uzumaki, right? I guess in the near future, you and your brother will set out to capture the Tailed Beasts, won't you?"

It wasn't until Kagura mentioned this that a glimmer of surprise flashed in Tobirama eyes. Two days ago, Hashirama had held a small meeting with him, just the two of them. The battle at the Valley of the End had made Hashirama realize the power of the Nine-Tails, and he came up with the idea of capturing the Tailed Beasts scattered across the world. As chakra entities, the Tailed Beasts could become formidable weapons.

By capturing them and distributing them among the other nations, they could maintain a balance of power, potentially leading to peace in the shinobi world.

However, this meeting was extremely confidential. Even the students who had always been by his side didn't know about it. How could this woman, locked up in a cell, possibly know?

"Hey, you..."

"Foreseeing the future. I told you I have the ability to foresee the future. You can think of me as... a witch?" Kagura shook her head. "A sorceress. I'm a wandering sorceress, able to divine fortunes and foresee the future."

Tobirama was half-convinced. He was a cautious and pragmatic man, and it wasn't easy to persuade him with just a few words.

"I know a lot. I know you'll capture all the Tailed Beasts except for Shukaku, the One-Tail. I also know your brother wants to convene the Five Kage Summit, right?"

These were all secrets. How on earth did she know?

Tobirama was suffocating with curiosity. The more he listened, the more curious he became. He was human, after all, and humans are naturally curious. She claimed she could foresee the future, and Tobirama genuinely wanted to know whether the future she spoke of was true or false.

"You don't need to waste your efforts on me. I'm not a spy, just an ordinary witch who tells fortunes and predicts futures for people, nothing more. If you're worried, I can leave Konoha. If you want to keep an eye on me, I can stay in Konoha. It makes no difference to me."

"..."

"So, what's your choice?"

Holding a water cup, Tobirama pondered Kagura proposal, weighing it carefully for a long time before finally making a decision.

"Stay in Konoha. If you truly have this ability, I don't want to let you go to another country."

"Then I have my own conditions."

She dares to bargain!

"Go on."

"Give me a shop in the shopping district. I'm not a ninja, so I won't be taking on missions. If you don't give me something to do, I'll starve to death at your doorstep."

Three black lines appeared on Tobirama forehead. After a long sigh, he nodded.

"I'll rent it to you, but you'll have to pay rent if you make money."

Kagura rolled her eyes and pouted. No wonder the idea of selling Tailed Beasts was proposed at the Five Kage Summit not long after. This guy is the epitome of a capitalist in the ninja world!
