Chapter 35: Yugi at His Wit's End
The Monster Hayato gave him, although its ATK was weak, if the Effect on the Card went through, even a powerful Monster like Blue-Eyes would be easily Destroyed.
Did he Draw that Card? Hayato saw something in Yugi's eyes, nodded, and shouted loudly, "Go, Yugi! Let Kaiba see the Power of my Tamashii!"
Yugi didn't Rant about the number of Hayato's Tamashii increasing again. Instead, he nodded seriously in response, then turned his head back to focus on the Duel.
"Unlike you, who are alone, I have the Power my Friends give me! This is the Power of Trust brought by the Resonance of Hearts!" Yugi opened his mouth with a bout of Verbal Persuasion, slapping the Card in his Hand onto the Field. "This is the Power of the heart! I'll show you how I'll surpass your simple and pathetic Power right now."
"Set one Monster, End Turn!"
"Heh hahahaha, you talk a good game, but in the end, aren't you just clinging to life? My Turn!" Looking at the Card he Drew from his Hand, Kaiba laughed excitedly once again. "It seems even Destiny is on my side, Yugi! The second [Blue-Eyes], I Drew it!"
Violent gusts of wind spread out recklessly as its wings unfolded. The powerful [Blue-Eyes White Dragon] appeared again, with two existing simultaneously on Kaiba's Field.
"With this, no matter how many walls you Summon at once, I can easily crush you! Attack that Monster, Blue-Eyes!"
Blue-Eyes Activated its Attack once more, and the blue-white light engulfed the Monster Yugi had just Summoned. But before Kaiba could continue his taunts, a pair of Insect Pincers suddenly emerged from the thick smoke covering the spot where the Destroyed Monster was!
"You've stepped into my Trap, Kaiba!" Yugi's mouth curved upwards. "The Monster I Set was this Card, [Man-Eater Bug]! It has an Effect that Activates when it's Flipped! It can choose any one Monster on the Field to Destroy."
"Nani!? Masaka!"
"That's right, the one I'm Destroying is the Blue-Eyes on your Field! Accept the resentment of the Monsters you've Destroyed and sleep in the Graveyard, Strongest Dragon!"
The Man-Eater Bug emerged from the smoke. Its lower body had been reduced to ashes by Blue-Eyes' Attack just now, but only because of the Insect's strong Life Force could it continue to move.
Although it was only a 2☆ Monster with fragile Stats of 450/600, even when facing the powerful [Blue-Eyes White Dragon], the tiny bug still bravely accepted the challenge.
The giant White Dragon's throat was severed by the [Man-Eater Bug]'s remaining Biting Pincers. Its sacred body turned into fragments and drifted into the Graveyard. Kaiba's Life Points (LP) also dropped from a relatively ample 1800 points to only 300 points because of this Attack.
"Damn it, my Blue-Eyes!" Kaiba gritted his teeth as he looked at Yugi, letting out a cold snort. "Hmph, so you Destroyed one Blue-Eyes, but so what! Not only do I still have one Blue-Eyes on my Field, but a third [Blue-Eyes White Dragon] is also sleeping in my Deck!"
"And you, how many more times can you Summon that annoying Monster?"
Yugi couldn't refute Kaiba's words. The hot blood that had just surged from defeating [Blue-Eyes] quickly cooled down.
That's right. Although he had Destroyed one Blue-Eyes with Hayato's Power, another Blue-Eyes was still on Kaiba's Field, watching him like a tiger. Furthermore, one more Blue-Eyes was sleeping in Kaiba's Deck.
Constantly Setting Monsters in Defense Position wasn't a Solution/Strategy either. Even though his current Life Points were higher than Kaiba's, Blue-Eyes could finish him off with just one Attack. He had to come up with a Solution/Strategy!
Lowering his head to look at his Hand, the worry between Yugi's brows lingered. He had a total of five Cards in his Hand, but aside from [Gaia The Fierce Knight], whose strength was decent, and a Weak Normal Monster with Stats below 2000, there were three other Monsters whose meaning was clearly ☆un☆clear☆ at first glance.
'What was Ji-chan thinking? There were so many much stronger Monsters he could have chosen, so why did he put these kinds of Cards in the Deck?'
'Please, Ji-chan, if you're still watching, show me where the possibility of victory lies!'
"My Turn, Draw a Card!" He flipped over the Card on top of his Deck. It was the Spell Card, [Swords of Revealing Light]!
"Activate [Swords of Revealing Light]!" Yugi played the Card. Three sharp swords shimmering with holy light appeared out of thin air above the head of the sole remaining [Blue-Eyes White Dragon] on the Field, trapping it within a Sword Array. "Kaiba, the [Blue-Eyes White Dragon] on your Field will be trapped for three Turns and cannot Battle!"
"Muda muda muda, [Blue-Eyes White Dragon] is the Strongest Monster Card! Even if it can't Attack, your Monsters can't break through this high wall!" Kaiba laughed confidently. "Useless struggle! Even if I give you three Turns, what can you possibly do?"
"I believe my Deck will respond to my heart!" According to the Rules, if he had no Monsters on his Field at the end of the Turn, he would lose the Match immediately. Yugi Summoned [Gaia] onto the Field, then Ended his Turn.
"Hey, Yugi!" Suddenly, Yugi heard Hayato shouting loudly at him from outside the Field.
"Hayato-kun?"
"Yugi!" Hayato cupped his hands like a megaphone and shouted loudly at Yugi, who was standing on the High Platform. "Believe in your Deck! No Monster is useless! Nobody can guess what the picture is until the Puzzle is complete!"
"Puzzle?" Hayato's loud shout suddenly made Yugi remember something from earlier today—
After Tristan finished writing on the Confession Puzzle, he scrambled it. Joey Wheeler held one of the pieces and said this:
"Just taking out one piece of this Puzzle, you can't tell what Tristan wrote at all."
"That's because with something like a Puzzle, looking at each piece individually isn't very interesting, but it only gains its meaning after the Puzzle is completed."

'Could it be, these Cards are!' Yugi suddenly remembered Ji-chan telling him that among Duel Monsters Cards, there was a special kind of Monster that could only be used when all its pieces were gathered.
"My Turn!"
Kaiba couldn't know what Yugi was thinking. He just Drew a Card from his Deck. Seeing the Ankh, the symbol of resurrection, on the Card's face, Kaiba laughed triumphantly. "Hmph hahahaha! You're finished, Yu↗gi↘!"
"Activate the Spell Card, [Monster Reborn]!"
"This Card's Effect is to revive one Monster sleeping in either player's Graveyard! Of course, the one I'm reviving is my Monster!" Kaiba's face was full of arrogance as he loudly called out the Monster's name:
"Return to my Field, Blue—Eyes—White—Dragon!!!"
