Chapter 5 - Always A Weirdo

Ilyara and Silver reached the ground floor, and all heads turned to them. But Ilyara ignored the stares, admiration and envy like a professional.

Silver was also used to being stared at for some odd reason he never came to understand, so he easily ignored the stares like an expert.

When they were about to walk out the revolving building doors, Silver hurriedly grabbed Ilyara, stopping her. Ilyara turned sharply only to melt in Silver's chest when he suddenly hugged her.

Her brushed her smooth hair, whispering, "are you crazy, I might not know much about movies, but I have read a book or two, and I know vampires can't walk in the daylight, are you trying to get yourself killed?"

Ilyara's heart skipped a beat, and a beautiful smile tugged at her lips by his concern. But she was still mad at him so she snorted derisively, "and why would you care?"

'Because of the money, you die and it's gone,' he immediately thought. But he was now an expert when it came to women, he would never make the same mistake twice.

He chuckled, "because I don't want to see you turn into dust. Where am I going to find another beautiful woman to support me?"

Silver was 'gently' pushed, a few feet away from Ilyara. With a frustrated huff, she turned around and walked away.

Silver was dumbstruck, what did he say wrong this time? Shaking his head, he truly came to accept that he would never understand women.

With a sigh, he hurried after her, oblivious to the murmurs of the gossipers who had watched the entire show.

••

Outside the building was Ilyara perfectly unbothered by the sun, but visibly paler and for some odd reason, Silver could swear she was in pain.

Ilyara was talking to another woman, pretty, tall, dark haired, somewhat bulky in frame. As Silver walked up to them, he realised he was at least a few inches shorter than this woman, which was something.

The woman turned to him, expression stern and professional. She was wearing a dark suit, matching the SUV behind her.

Looking up at her, Silver quickly judged Ilyara was infinitely more beautiful. But she also had her own charm.

She reached out her hand, "pleased to meet you, my name is Hanna, Mrs. Lioren's only true friend, bodyguard, driver, butler, lawyer, caretaker, assistant, emotional support, former nanny, financial advisor and more."

Silver absent-mindedly grabbed her hand and they shook, "um, nice to meet you, I guess. My name is Silver, I am Ilyara's soon to be husband."

Silver wanted his hand back, but Hanna held on to it firmly, her dark eyes glaring at him with so much intensity. She applied pressure, and Silver could feel his hand being crushed.

Silver's indifferent expression contorted.

"Hanna let go of him now! Otherwise I won't hesitate to kill you."

Ilyara was now grasping Hanna's hand that had been crushing Silver's, firmly applying pressure, her eyes full blown vampiric and deadly. Hanna was so shocked she had long since loosened her grip.

This was the first time, her young mistress had ever looked at her like that. It was unsettling. She was much stronger than her young mistress but at the moment, she felt something amiss.

She didn't know what it was, but for a split second, she had been paralysed. She knew it was her mind playing tricks, so put it at the back of her mind for now.

She bowed slightly to her young mistress, "I apologize young miss, it won't happen again."

She then gazed at Silver, "I apologize to you too master Silver, I was out of line. If you're good enough for young miss, I should've treated you with the respect you deserve. It won't happen again, I promise."

Silver shrugged, unbothered.

Ilyara looked between the two, and her eyes went back to normal. She smiled innocently at them, as if she didn't just go homicidal a minute ago.

"Now that we got the introductions out of the way, who's driving? I'm late."

Hanna professionally opened the back door, helping her young miss get inside. She then went to the driver's side and entered. Silver sighed, weirdly used to this kind of treatment so he didn't think nothing of it.

He opened the door to the back for himself, and entered.

The car started and drove off.

He opened the window and looked out, seemingly lost in thought. Ilyara gazed at him, wondering what he was thinking about to have that blank expression, thinking it must be something deep.

But in truth, 'Once I get the money, I should buy a really large pizza, the biggest, ever. But make it extremely spicy. Then I would feed it to the homeless. Of course it would not be for free, I'll make them feel indebted to me, by signing a contract, then I would buy a cheap estate land and build hotels using them as free labour.'

At some point Silver started unconsciously evilly chuckling at his brilliant idea. Ilyara misinterpreted that as a sign of him being happy, spending time with her.

She reached out her hand, and held his. Silver turned to her and smiled. Ilyara was blown away but such a handsome smile. In that moment Ilyara knew Silver loved her, he just doesn't know it yet.

'Smile Silver, like what mom used to say, a way to a woman's heart is through a heartfelt smile that will get us married quickly so that I can my hands on that money.'

Hanna had been spying on those two for quite some time, and she didn't get it. What did the young miss see in him? Sure he was handsome that she could admit, but that's all there is to it.

His life was so bleak she wondered how he managed to get up in the morning and not try to kill himself. He had no wealth, family, friends. He was boring, had nothing going for him except work and work and work.

The money he earned ends up paying for his sister's hospital expenses with little left for him to even buy a proper meal. A naive person could say his actions are that of an admirable man. But in Hanna's eye, they are that of a fool.

Even her young miss once said he was being a fool. And at some point, she had been thinking of ending his sister's life.

'So why did young miss look at this man with such love?'

Hanna breathed out a quiet sigh, as she pulled up, finally having reached their destination. The studio, her young miss works at.

'Young miss was always a weirdo, no use thinking too deeply about it.'
