Chapter 3 - Strange Feelings

The girl in front of him smashed the wolf's skull until it cracked, and the blood splashed out of it (The bones were weakened by the poison). Even after that, she continued to smash it until the head of the wolf turned into a bloody pulp of brain matter, bones and poisonous blood.

Gregory was disgusted and terrified of the scene in front of him. He has never seen so much blood before and a person messing with gore.

The girl then stared at the bloody mess hatefully and used her hands to scoop out some of it, then closed it to her mouth.

'What the fuck are you doing, girl? That's poisonous.'

As soon as the poisonous thought appeared, the familiar sensation of losing control of his body appeared, and he instantly appeared in front of her.

It felt like he was teleporting.

With one hand, he held her two hands together, then slapped them with his other hand, causing the gore to fall to the floor.

She looked at the bloody mess on the floor, then at Gregory with hateful eyes. She was so angry, it felt like she was going to rip his eyes apart.

"Don't eat that, it is poisonous."

After hearing that she pulled her hands out and said in a furious tone.

"I don't care."

After saying that she tried to get some again, but Gregory stopped her, this time because he wanted to.

"I won't let you do that; it will kill you."

She shrugged his hand again and glanced at him. This time she was more furious than ever. She gritted her teeth to calm herself down a little and asked.

"Why do you care? You no nothing about what happened."

"I do care...about you at least. I don't know why, why, but I don't want you to die...I care about you."

Gregory felt embarrassed; he had never let his feelings out like this. In a normal situation, he would never do this, but for some reason, he felt like he could talk to her about anything; he felt close to her, and he wanted to protect her. And to protect her right now, he has to console her and let her know that he is on her side.

That's why he said it or was forced to.

The girl looked at him, surprised by his sudden statement; she looked deep into his eyes, trying to figure out If it was the truth. In her heart, she wished it to be the truth.

After a couple of seconds of looking, her surprised expression was gone, replaced with a sad expression. She shrugged and looked away.

"It doesn't matter."

Gregory was surprised at her reply but didn't get too worked up. He kept his cool and questioned her.

"Why?"

"Because they aren't real." Gregory frowned and asked in a curious tone.

"What aren't real?"

She glanced at him again, suppressed anger had reappeared again. She snarled at his face.

"You, Your feelings, acting as you care. All of these are because of my skill, not because you care for me."

Gregory frowned. 'Skill'

But before he could ask what a skill is, she continued.

"Nobody cares, nobody cares, everybody hates me. All of them, Villagers, students and that damn academy professor...Everybody hates me. There was only one person who cared...I-it was my father."

She then looked at the dead wolf and said in an angry tone.

"But this bastard killed him. It a-ate him while he was telling me to run."

After saying that, the girl's anger disappeared again, and It was replaced by utter sadness, a feeling of longing and loneliness.

"It killed my...my dad."

After saying that tears started to stream down her face. She covered his face as more and more tears fell down her cheeks. Unable to control the sadness, she sniffed and cried loudly.

"Sniff, nobody was with me but he was...Now he is gone too."

When Gregory saw the girl in front of him crying, a wave of anger and sadness spread through his body. He wanted to hug her and tell her that everything would be alright, and he also wanted to torture the people or animals who were responsible for making her cry.

These feelings he was feeling were very alien, and he felt like they were forced. Nonetheless, he embraced them; he pulled the beautiful girl into a deep embrace and said in a calm, soothing tone.

"Don't worry….I-I am here now.."

The girl was surprised by the sudden embrace, but after hearing his response,e, her surprise left. After a few seconds, she asked sincerely.

"You will stay with me?" She asked; she seemed vulnerable even asking that question.

Gregory still held onto her; he wanted to say no, but it was impossible.

"Yes, I will stay with you and protect you."

After hearing that the girl wrapped her arms around him, returning the embrace. Then she started lightly shedding tears on his shoulder. She wanted to share the sadness with him and he let her, unwillingly.

Half an hour had already passed when she stopped crying. After that she broke the embrace, glanced at the wolf corpse for one last time and walked away from it toward the tree line, Gregory following her without a command.

She sat under the shade cast from the canopy of leaves and gestured for him to sit in front of her.

After he sat down, she started to stare at the corpse as if thinking something. While she was thinking, he decided to ask her questions.

Of course, Gregory has a lot of questions about the bizarre things that happened to him after him, and he wants to get answers to those from her. He chose to ask her all the questions because of two things.

One is he felt very close to her and was willing to trust her. Second, she is the only one here who he could have a meaningful conversation with.

He can't ask wild beasts, after all.

He calmed the violent thoughts in his mind and asked her the first question.

"So, who are you??"
