"Chakra is truly an incredible power." Even though Amemiya Kenichi had known about the Tailed Beast Ball for a long time, facing it head-on made him truly feel its immense pressure.
For a split second, Amemiya Kenichi felt like he was back in high school, his heart pounding like when a teacher caught him using his phone in class.
"But the target isn't the village—it's Hokage Rock?" Amemiya Kenichi watched the Tailed Beast Ball soar overhead and noticed its trajectory.
The Tailed Beast Ball didn't explode. Instead, it vanished instantly, followed by a massive explosion in the distance. Amemiya Kenichi understood: the Fourth Hokage had intervened.
The Flying Thunder God Technique is truly a powerful ninjutsu. If it can teleport a Tailed Beast Ball, could it also teleport fuel-air explosives or thermobaric bombs?
Imagine leaving a marker at the target location, instantly teleporting a thermobaric bomb there, and then quickly escaping before detonating it. The destructive potential would be terrifying.
This is a strategic-level ninjutsu. No wonder Namikaze Minato was hailed as the Yellow Flash—extreme speed is indeed a formidable power.
"Have you ever been kicked by light?" For some reason, Amemiya Kenichi couldn't help but imagine Namikaze Minato and Kizaru from next door as the same person, which made him shudder.
Impossible. Minato isn't like Kizaru.
Watching Minato disappear and the Konoha ninja resume their assault on the Nine-Tailed, Amemiya Kenichi yawned. He was destined to be a bystander in this major event.
Wait, there might be something I can do. Uzumaki Naruto had just been born, and his bloodline might hold some secrets.
Amemiya Kenichi desperately wanted to study how Naruto, as the reincarnation of Asura, was influenced by his bloodline.
And could Asura be stripped from Naruto? What kind of person would Naruto become if he were no longer Asura's reincarnation?
Amemiya Kenichi was burning with curiosity.
With that thought, Amemiya Kenichi decided to give it a try. If he didn't, he'd feel like he was missing out.
He could wait until Naruto left Konoha Village on a mission to get his blood, but that would take too long. He didn't want to waste time.
Besides, Amemiya Kenichi remembered that this was the perfect opportunity.
"Fourth Hokage, your son shouldn't be with you right now, right?" Amemiya Kenichi muttered to himself.
He didn't remember much of the plot, but he knew the Fourth Hokage had placed Naruto somewhere else first. This was the perfect time to get Naruto's DNA.
But after searching everywhere, Amemiya Kenichi reluctantly gave up. The Fourth Hokage hadn't left Naruto at his house, and Amemiya Kenichi couldn't find him there.
"Umbilical cord blood would work too, but where did Kushina give birth? Even Teacher doesn't know," Amemiya Kenichi sighed, disappointed that his plan had fallen through.
Without enough information, he had no choice but to abandon it.
He'd just have to wait until Naruto was older and sneak into Konoha to collect it then. It wouldn't be too late by then.
"The funds are almost ready, and I've secured some of the equipment," Amemiya Kenichi said, stroking his chin. He'd originally planned to grab some test subjects, but most of the villagers had already fled.
After searching everywhere, Amemiya Kenichi still couldn't find any suitable materials.
He was a little disappointed, but watching the Nine-Tailed rampage, an idea struck him.
"If I were the Fourth Hokage, I'd definitely hide Naruto somewhere safe—somewhere the Nine-Tailed couldn't reach, somewhere completely hidden," Kenichi thought.
The village was out of the question. Even though the Third Hokage was desperately trying to drive the Nine-Tailed away, even a stray blast could kill Naruto.
So it had to be outside the village, maybe even on the opposite side, as far away as possible—the least likely place for an attack.
With this in mind, Kenichi resolutely headed toward the other side of the village, running as fast as he could. He didn't know how long Obito could hold off the Fourth Hokage; all that mattered was getting there quickly.
"It has to be here somewhere," Kenichi muttered, checking room after room, but finding nothing.
Just as he was about to give up, he spotted it—a room protected by a simple barrier.
The barrier was so well-hidden that Amemiya Kenichi wouldn't have known it existed if he hadn't stumbled upon it. He was almost certain this was where Naruto was being kept.
Fortunately, the barrier hastily set up by the Fourth Hokage wasn't particularly strong. Had he sacrificed some defense for the sake of secrecy?
This made things easier for Amemiya Kenichi.
After breaking through the barrier, he found little Naruto inside the room. Without hesitation, Amemiya Kenichi pulled out a test tube, collected a strand of Naruto's hair and a drop of blood, and then hurried away.
No sooner had Amemiya Kenichi left than Namikaze Minato appeared in the room, panting heavily. He nervously scanned his surroundings before scooping Naruto into his arms.
Seeing his son unharmed, Minato finally let out a sigh of relief.
"Is Uchiha Madara still alive? What a terrifying enemy," Minato muttered, clutching his side. He had sensed the barrier being attacked and rushed back immediately.
But Madara's relentless assault had delayed him. In his haste, Minato had taken a direct hit to return here.
"The barrier's been breached, but Naruto..." Namikaze Minato was confused. He'd been worried about his son's safety, but thankfully, Naruto was unharmed.
He'd noticed someone fleeing earlier, but his priority had been Naruto's safety. Now that Naruto was safe, the person was long gone.
He could only focus on dealing with the suspected Uchiha Madara and the Nine-Tailed Fox.
Amemiya Kenichi returned to his teacher's lab. He didn't need to worry about being watched—everyone was too busy.
Teacher Orochimaru was busy recording the forbidden techniques from the Forbidden Technique Scroll. The Third Hokage was working to drive the Nine-Tailed Fox out of Konoha Village to minimize damage. Danzo and Root were busy surrounding the Uchiha Clan.
Obito was busy beating the crap out of his own teacher.
Amemiya Kenichi thought being a teacher in the Naruto World was truly dangerous. You could be dragged out by a corrupted disciple at any moment to serve as their stepping stone to greatness.
"Being busy is good," Amemiya Kenichi stretched lazily, then slipped into the underground lab. Whatever chaos was unfolding outside had nothing to do with him.
In the manga, Namikaze Minato simply put Naruto down and that was that. But Amemiya Kenichi thought it was too careless not to set up any barrier at all, so he decided to imagine Minato had set up a secret protective barrier.
Don't overthink it.
