It was not the strongest artifact I've created, but it was the first to respond to my thoughts while I slept.
A charm of etched obsidian, shaped during my third life. I had worn it often but never truly understood it. Upon rediscovery, it sang.
When I soul-linked it again in this life, it whispered its first word: welcome.
This was not a sentient artifact. But it remembered me. Or rather, it remembered the me I used to be. The echo of my soul.
I store it now in the Vault, placed gently on a pedestal that formed when I brought it to mind.
Mana watched. I do not know how I know that, but it did. Perhaps it, too, remembers.
