Chapter 2: The First Step of Cultivation (Continued)

"Let's see how long you can survive."

Li Feng's cold voice echoed in Jin Yue's mind as the male lead turned on his heels and walked away without a second glance. Those words, sharp and final, hung in the air, leaving a chill that Jin Yue couldn't shake off.

He stood there, watching Li Feng's retreating figure, the weight of the challenge settling over him. Survive? The words stung more than he cared to admit. Li Feng, the perfect prodigy, the one who held the sect's future in his hands, didn't believe in weakness. And in the world of cultivation, weakness meant death. How are my suppose to survive in this fucked up story? Dear lord any Lord that is up there get me out of story, Jin Yue prayer internally.

Jin Yue clenched his fists, trying to contain the surge of emotions threatening to overwhelm him. He had been a spectator in this world long enough, and now, he was a part of it. A part of a world that didn't care about weakness, about people who didn't fit the mold. He wasn't the villain anymore; he was Jin Yue, and he would fight to survive.

"Don't mind him," a voice broke through his thoughts, and his internal monologue, warm and comforting. Jin Yue turned to see Lan Shuyin walking up beside him. She had a soft smile on her face, though there was a trace of sadness in her eyes. She had been kind to him ever since his arrival at the sect, offering advice and gentle encouragement.

"I know Li Feng can be... intimidating," she said, her voice low. "But he's not the only one in this sect. There are others who'll help you."

Jin Yue nodded, though his mind was still racing. Help? The idea of relying on others in this cutthroat world felt foreign, yet he knew deep down that survival wasn't just about strength. It was about alliances, and Lan Shuyin was offering him just that.

"Thanks, Shuyin," he replied, his voice steady. "I'll keep that in mind."

As the two of them walked back toward the sect's main hall, Jin Yue couldn't help but glance back one last time at the direction Li Feng had gone. There was something about the way the male lead carried himself, the way he seemed untouchable, that both intrigued and terrified him. Jin Yue knew he had to be careful. Li Feng wasn't just powerful — he was dangerous in ways Jin Yue didn't fully understand yet and that frightened him.
