Since Yul had left for the office, Liya and Inu got busy in checking out the house. They hadn't got the time to do it properly yesterday. SO they began exploring the new haven they obtained.
In the front there was a lawn and landscaped garden; nothing sophisticated, simple but elegant. The lawn extended through both the sideways to the back of the house, thus separating the house from the rest of the plot. In the backyard there was an empty area which seemed to be a vegetable garden or something. Then there was again the lawn which extended all the way to the bushes that bordered the plot. Liya couldn't understand if the bushes marked the boundary or not, because there was no clear marking and beyond the bushes, it seemed to be a human made forest.
There was only one more area that Liya hadn't checked out in the ground floor. It was the common space which was separated from the dining hall by a wide corridor. Inu liked the space as soon as he entered. It was unlike the aura of the whole house, as if it was separately planned by someone specially.
There was a big couch placed at its centre facing the large glass window which could be opened to the backyard. There was an old book shelf but without any books, a cupboard full of crockery items, which were very unique in designs as if kept as a collection and the desk had knitting materials carefully covered under sheets.
The whole area had an antique touch to it which didn't suit Yul. There was someone else who used this space. As Inu looked through the desk drawers, he found an old crocheted doll inside, probably of the owner of this space. It was a small rabbit which obviously had gone through some wear and tear. Inu took it and showed it to Liya. Liya just looked at it and then asked Inu to keep it back in its position which he did.
Like Inu, Liya also liked that hall. It was perfect to relax in the afternoon, watching the twilight in the forest. But something made Liya feel that Yul might not like them intrude in here considering how it was maintained. So she took Inu and went to check out the first floor. It was same as below; contemporary designed two more rooms, a hall and a balcony that opened to the front.
Liya and Inu was disappointed by that and they returned to the kitchen to prepare for the lunch. Walking around the house and the forest made then really hungry.
At the same time, something extraordinary was happening at Yul's side. Devin had given a file of reports to Yul and he was inspecting all those with great care. Actually it had been few times since he had read through it, but Yul was still not satisfied and hence scrutinized it again and again.
Unable to stand this behaviour, Devin pulled the file out of Yul's hand forcefully and kept it with him.
"Give me that." Yul ordered to Devin.
"It's enough boss. You have clearly read what was written in it. It's not going to change even if you read it again." Devin clearly stated the facts.
Yul just smiled childishly and laid back on the chair relaxed. Devin was right. Nothing is going to change now and the truth was in his hands.
"So what's the next step?" Devin asked after sitting down on the chair in front of Yul's table, in his office. Now Devin was his friend and not the assistant. And they were about to discuss things that no one outside that room knew about, or should ever find out.
"We will of course bury everything. No one is to know anything other than us." Yul became serious again and sat straight up.
"Then what about Liya? Aren't you going to ask her?" Devin asked in return.
"She had clearly said that she doesn't know Yaniv. So what's there more to ask?" Yul said it as an excuse because he also knew there were many things that only Liya could explain. He just wanted to give Liya some more time to become friendly before questioning her again.
"I agree…she had said that she doesn't know your brother. Then the question comes, whose son is Inu? Don't you want to know about it?" Devin couldn't agree with Yul and wanted to clear everything as soon as possible.
"Of course it's Yaniv's. We have the DNA report." Yul was dodging the question purposefully.
Devin could guess why Yul was avoiding the obvious, but he knew that this isn't the time for that. A storm was coming and they had a lot of things to prepare. So he pushed again, "But he isn't Liya's son. What about that? Shouldn't we find out Inu's real mother? And how did Liya became his mother is a question she needs to answer. Go and show this report to her and ask her!"
The file had another DNA report that showed that Liya and Inu weren't blood related. Yul already had his suspicions about Inu's birth and had done the test in secret without Liya's knowledge. Although he hoped that the results to be negative, which made Liya in a more questionable spot, he had more reasons to hide this for now from Liya itself.
"Isn't it obvious? Inu's mother wouldn't have wanted him, probably after hearing about what happened with Yaniv. And somehow he ended up with Liya. Why should we probe into something unnecessary?" Yul tried to reason with Devin but in vain.
"Yul!..." Devin raised his voice and stood up in anger. Yul had no plan to change his mind and this made Devin lose his temper. "Are you even making any sense now?" He asked.
Yul saw how mad Devin was now and it was all reasonable. But he didn't want to go with Devin's idea. Yul stood up and went to Devin. He made Devin sit down again to pacify him.
And then he said, "I understand what you are saying. I get it. I totally do. But I don't want to make her afraid of me again. Nor do I want to push her and make her leave me. I lost her once and I can't afford to do that again. Now that fate had brought her in front of me again, I don't want to let go of her, no matter what."
Devin saw how solemn Yul was and hence asked, "Are you sure about this? This is huge risk…and it can spiral out of our hands…"
"I have never been this sure about anything else before, Devin. So stand with me. Will you?" It was a request which was very unlikely to be heard from someone as mighty and powerful as Yul.
