Chapter 253 - Chapter 253: Too Calm Sisters

After the conversation between John and Jeff, the latter left with his disciples without saying another word. He didn't cause any more trouble for Tracy.

Jeff had more important matters to attend to—he needed to go to Australia as soon as possible and report everything to the deputy leader of the League.

Once Jeff was gone, Tracy immediately found John, her face filled with confusion.

"Little brother, what did you say to that man? Why did they leave so easily?"

"I told him the Australian man went back to his homeland on his own," John said casually.

Tracy narrowed her eyes. "Do you think I'm stupid enough to believe that?"

John smiled faintly. "Jeff believed it."

Tracy stomped her foot angrily. "John, do you think I'm that gullible?"

She might be soft-hearted, but she wasn't stupid. There was no way Jeff had believed such a ridiculous explanation.

It was obvious John was lying.

"Tracy, it's over now. Don't worry about it. Those people won't bother you again, and I'll be just fine," John said reassuringly.

He hadn't meant to hide things from her, but…

Tracy was too kind. He wasn't sure how she'd react if she knew he had killed someone. For now, it seemed better to lie—badly, but still.

If she kept asking, he'd just refuse to answer.

At worst, she'd be angry for a few days.

And she was angry.

This was the first time Tracy had ever truly been mad at him. She could tell something had happened while she was asleep that night, but he clearly didn't want her involved.

That frustrated her even more.

When they got home, Tracy didn't speak to John once. Her expression was cold and distant.

She had made up her mind—if he wouldn't tell her the truth, then she wouldn't talk to him either.

Seeing her like that, Alice raised an eyebrow in surprise. "What's wrong with you, my gentle and lovely second sister? What did little John do to make you so upset?"

She glanced at John sitting thoughtfully on the other end of the sofa and smirked to herself.

This little bastard really stirred up trouble. How did he manage to piss off Tracy? That's rare.

Kate chimed in too. "Exactly. Second Sister, aren't you known for your great temper? Why are you so mad today?"

"Don't ask me," Tracy replied in a wounded tone. "I'm just a fool. If you want to know what happened, ask John. He's the clever one."

Oof.

She even changed the way she addressed him—from "little brother" to "John." That stung.

Alice leaned in, grinning. Her full chest practically pressed against John's arm as she teased, "Spill it, little bastard. Did you get too handsy and scare her off?"

John sighed inwardly. If only that were the case. She wouldn't even resist if I crossed a line like that. She wouldn't be this angry.

No, this was something much more serious.

Realizing he couldn't hide it from the other sisters, John decided to tell Alice and Kate the truth—but only part of it. He didn't explicitly say he killed the Australian man, but it was enough.

And the two sisters caught on instantly.

They understood.

The Australian man had been killed—by John.

Alice's narrow, seductive eyes briefly turned cold.

If I had known earlier, I would've killed that bastard myself, she thought.

But the cold glint in her eyes vanished quickly, replaced with a flirtatious smile. She turned to Tracy and said, "Second Sister, since John said he's fine, then he's fine. Don't be mad at him anymore."

"That's right," Kate added. "We should trust John unconditionally."

Tracy was taken aback by how calm they were. She frowned and said, "Can't you two see that he's obviously hiding something? He's not telling the truth at all!"

"Oh, come on, sis. You're just overthinking it."

"Yeah, yeah, you're imagining things."

Their nonchalance was suspicious.

Tracy grew even more frustrated. When Queenie finally came home, she rushed over and told her the whole story, hoping for backup.

Queenie was always calm and rational. Surely she'd see through John's flimsy excuse and help get the truth out of him.

But to Tracy's shock…

After quietly listening to everything, Queenie simply said, "Stop overthinking, girl."

She took off her blazer, revealing the fitted white lining underneath, which hugged her graceful figure. Then she grabbed her nightgown and walked into the bathroom without another word.

Tracy was left stunned.

What was going on with her sisters today?

Why were they all so indifferent?

She could only retreat to her room alone, sulking. She shut the door behind her.

In the living room, Alice gave John a sly wink and leaned in, whispering, "Tell me, John—did you torture that guy before you killed him?"

"Of course I did. He dared to covet my sister—I wasn't going to let him off easy," John replied coldly. "But his background isn't simple. His father's supposedly a vice leader in the Australian Ninja League."

"Oh, don't play innocent with us," Alice said with a smirk. "If his identity isn't simple, then yours definitely isn't either."

She leaned closer, unconsciously shifting her ample curves more firmly against John's arm.

John was speechless.

Kate muttered to herself, "I've got a feeling… that League is about to suffer."
