Chapter 234 - Chapter 234: How Dare You Lay a Hand on My Sisters?

Kate panicked.

She was just a woman with lingering gunshot wounds—weak and vulnerable. If she stayed, she'd only drag Angela down.

So, she made a split-second decision.

Run!

While fleeing, she desperately tried to contact John.

But...

No answer.

Her calls went straight to voicemail.

Anxiety overwhelmed her. Her hands trembled. Her chest tightened with helplessness.

Then suddenly, a thought struck her—

The amulet!

After she'd barely escaped from Texas a few days ago, John had told her the amulet she wore was actually a Mind Circle. In times of danger, all she had to do was call his name.

She hadn't expected to use it again so soon.

"John! Come back quickly! Little sister's going to be killed!"

Meanwhile, in his River Apartment, John was fast asleep.

He had muted his phone, hoping for some rest after fleeing from Kate. But instead of peace, he'd been "tortured" by Alice all night long.

Exhausted, he had only fallen asleep at dawn.

Kate's voice suddenly echoed inside his mind—urgent and panicked.

John stirred.

His brows furrowed.

It didn't sound like a joke.

Then again, if it was, Kate's acting skills were good enough to land her a voiceover job at a major TV station.

Still, the Mind Circle wasn't something to take lightly. If she'd used it, he had to investigate.

Without hesitation, he activated the Circle.

A vision flashed into his mind: Kate, running. Behind her, a black-robed figure gaining fast.

Demonism!

John recognized them instantly.

They weren't here for Kate—they were after Angela.

But they'd found Kate instead.

His eyes turned cold.

He wouldn't let anything happen to his sisters.

They were precious to him.

Without even saying goodbye to Alice, John leapt out of bed, summoned his bike, and raced back to New York.

Back at Greenland Villa, the situation had deteriorated.

Kate had been captured by the grand protector of Demonism.

Angela, overwhelmed by numbers, had also been restrained.

A few of the disciples sneered as they looked at the sisters.

"Grand protector, once we bring these two beauties back, the leader will reward us handsomely!"

"Hmph, forget the reward—let's get a taste first. These two are on a whole different level than what we've had before."

"You're right. This trip's already worth it."

"But what if the leader doesn't get tired of them? He might keep them for himself."

"Hey, don't jinx it! What a buzzkill."

Laughter and vulgar comments echoed around them.

Kate and Angela were sickened.

Kate couldn't stand it any longer.

Spat!

She hawked a wad of spit right into a disciple's face.

To her shock, he grinned and licked it off.

"Mmm... sweet. One more, please, beautiful."

Kate recoiled, disgusted.

"You're disgusting! Freak!"

She wanted to vomit.

These men were absolute filth.

The grand protector frowned. "Enough jokes. Take them and move. We don't want trouble."

"Yes, sir!"

But just as the words left his mouth, a cold voice rang out from the distance—

"Too late."

All heads turned.

Their eyes widened in disbelief.

A man was approaching—on a bike that flew through the air.

Slap!

Before anyone could react, a sharp beam of light pierced straight through a disciple's skull.

The body collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

"Cultivator!" someone gasped.

Only cultivators could wield such power!

Angela hadn't been bluffing. There really was a cultivator in the villa!

The disciples froze in terror.

Kate's eyes lit up with joy.

"John! Hurry up and beat these bastards! They bullied me and hurt little sis!"

She didn't need to say another word.

John's aura had already transformed.

He was no longer the smiling, laid-back man they knew.

He was a god of wrath.

A devil incarnate.

With a flick of his hand, he tossed his bike aside and blurred into motion.

It was like watching a phantom slice through weeds.

One by one, the disciples dropped.

Within moments, they all lay lifeless on the ground—except for the grand protector.

John stepped forward and glared coldly at him.

"How dare you lay a hand on my sisters?" he growled, his voice thick with killing intent.

"How. Dare. You."

He raised a single finger and pointed at the grand protector's chest.

Boom!

The man's body convulsed violently, lifted from the ground, and flew backward like a ragdoll. Blood sprayed in a trail behind him as he slammed into the earth.

Just one finger.

That was all it took.

The grand protector vomited blood, his limbs twitching. He lay on the ground, dying—completely broken, powerless to even scream.

Kate walked over, stepping on a dead disciple's face. She spit on him again and again.

"Didn't you like it when I spit? I'll give you plenty now!"

"Kate, stop playing around," John said, slightly exasperated.

He gently pulled her back, then summoned fire from his fingertips. In seconds, he burned the corpses to ashes.

Turning to the sisters, he said, "Stay home. I'm taking this guy to their lair."

He glanced at the twitching grand protector.

Angela suddenly perked up. "I'll go with you! I want to rob their leader's tomb again. I know where Demonism's base is."

"Didn't you get hurt?"

"It's nothing. Just a scratch," Angela said cheerfully, shaking her Spirit Calling Bell. "Besides, it's thirsty!"

Her eyes gleamed with obsession. She was clearly fixated on collecting Demon Spirit Devices.

John hesitated, then nodded. "If you know the location, I don't need him."

Without another word, he grabbed the grand protector by the neck and snapped it.

Then, like the others, he burned the corpse to ash.

Kate stepped forward. "I want to go too!"

"Why the hell would you come?" John frowned.

"You're still recovering from a gunshot wound. Stay home, don't go anywhere, and wait for us."

He smacked her lightly on the butt.

Kate let out a yelp, pouting.

But she stayed.
