Chapter 3 - Chapter 1 The Thread unravels

Prologue

In the great loom of time, where moments spin and destinies tangle, one name echoes across lifetimes—Yue XianYing.

She wasn't born special. She became it—when the universe dared to take her sister from her. Again. And again.

One life, she bled on her wedding gown.

Another, she leapt through fire and steel.

Now? She's trapped in a second chance that's more cursed than blessed. A fiancé who murdered her in a previous life. A sister fated to die over and over. And a man—half myth, half memory—who claims she's his wife from centuries past.

This isn't a reincarnation story. It's a war against fate.

Chapter 1: Blood in the Water

The street pulsed around her like a living beast—blaring horns, blinking signs, faces that blurred in motion. Yue Lusi stood frozen in the middle of a crosswalk, heart pounding like a trapped animal.

Where am I in this life?

The question stabbed into her as the sky dimmed unnaturally. Shadows stretched long—too long.

An eclipse? Now?

"You're not new to this," a voice rasped.

She turned.

An old woman. Wrinkled hands. Eyes that saw through centuries.

"You've crossed lifetimes, child. This isn't your first death."

Yue Lusi's lips parted. "What do you mean death?"

But fate, impatient and cruel, cut in.

A black van screeched to a halt.

The door burst open. A woman—her personal assistant, Mira Mu—rushed forward.

"Miss Yue...where the hell have you been?"

Yue Lusi blinked. Her name. Not Yue Lusi. Not yet but Yue Xianying

Four Hours Earlier

At the edge of the city, where secrets slept under concrete, Yue Lusi slammed her fists against the police desk.

"My sister would never kill herself!"

The officer didn't flinch. "Open-and-shut. Suicide."

"But the bruises—"

"Case closed."

Fu Shen appeared behind her like a phantom. Calm. Handsome. Calculated.

He took her elbow. "Come on, Lusi. This won't help."

In the car, he was silent. He didn't take the road home.

"Where are we going?"

"My penthouse. You're not safe at yours."

Safety. The word clanged in her chest like a warning bell.

Inside the glass fortress of his penthouse, the air chilled.

Fu shen poured wine with the grace of a predator.

"Do you still have it?"

"What?"

"The USB. The one Yue Lu gave you before she died."

Her blood turned to ice.

"What USB?"

He didn't smile. "The one with names. Faces. Secrets. Mine."

She backed away.

"Search her," he told his bodyguard.

They tore through her bag, her pockets, her coat.

"Nothing," the man said.

Fu Shen's voice dropped, cold and final. "Then get rid of her."

And they did.

The sea was silent when she hit the water.

But death made a mistake that night.

It forgot she'd already died once before.

Two Months Before Yu Lu's Death

Harper & Co. shimmered in glass and ambition. Yue Lusi, the executive assistant with fire behind her eyes, balanced her dreams and a secret heartbreak—her boss,Fu shen.

When Yue Lu failed her semester, Yue Lusi begged him for help.

He agreed, curious at first.

Then intrigued.

Then...something darker.

That night, as the sisters cleaned the dishes, Yue Lu glanced up and said softly:

"He's different when you're not around."

A thousand miles away, in a hospital where miracles and monsters roam, Li Xuanyin paused mid-step.

His immortal heart stuttered.

Her.

There she was. Alive.

Not a hallucination. Not a dream.

Yue Lusi turned. Their eyes met.

She didn't recognize him.

Not yet.

But time did. The universe did. Somewhere inside her, the crescent-shaped scar on her wrist pulsed.

"Dr. Li," a nurse barked.

Duty called.

Love could wait.

But not for long.
