Chapter 247 - Contact

Kael'thas is good in every way, but his personality is too soft. To put it nicely, it's a gentle personality, but you're a royal heir—what's with being so gentle? Moreover, you are the prince of the High Elf kingdom! If you inherit the throne like this, wouldn't you be bullied to death by the other council members of the Silvermoon Council? When that time comes, your old father won't be able to rest in his coffin; he'll be so angry he'll jump out... literally.

Galen and Kael'thas's relationship was very close, so, out of disappointment, he directly confronted him.

Kael'thas turned his head to look behind him. Thankfully, no one was there; otherwise, it would have been too embarrassing for his subordinates to see him being confronted by Galen just now. Unfortunately, he forgot that while no one was behind him, the two Windrunners were behind Galen. Although their family had always been neutral, not participating in the struggles between the royal family and the councilors, they were still nobles loyal to the royal family.

Sylvanas and Alleria quietly moved to the side, trying to get out of the projection range of the video.

"Alright, I'll teach you a trick," Galen said, helpless. Who told Kael to be his friend? He had to help when he could.

"Galen, please teach me."

"Who do you have under your command right now? I mean, those sent by Silvermoon City."

"The commanders of the Sunfury Legion and the Flameweaver Legion, as well as Councilor Dar'khan and Councilor Dawnseeker," Kael'thas replied after a moment's thought.

"Dar'khan? That Dar'khan? Tomorrow, issue a mandatory evacuation order, and let Dar'khan lead the soldiers to carry out this order."

"That's it?"

"That's it! Kael, what did you learn in those palace courses? I know more than you, and I slept through them!" Galen was puzzled. Had Kael'thas only increased his strength and forgotten everything else the palace teachers taught?

"Galen, I've been in Dalaran for over a hundred years, and the Archmage of the Kirin Tor has changed three times!" Kael'thas said, seemingly saying something, yet also saying nothing. But the implication was enough for Galen to understand.

"This is an opportunity, Kael—an opportunity to return to Silvermoon City, to the center of power in Quel'Thalas!" Galen reminded him.

"Yes, an opportunity. My exile is about to end," Kael'thas said, a little excited. "The power struggle between the Silvermoon Council and the Sunstrider royal family is fierce. To protect me, my father made me responsible for Silvermoon City's affairs in Dalaran, to accumulate merit. But Galen, it's still exile!" Kael'thas was helpless. "The mages of Dalaran are of no help to my magical development. If I had met Archmage Gandalf earlier, perhaps I would have enjoyed the relaxed and comfortable life in Violet Citadel."

"The fastest way to accumulate merit is war, Kael. The Holy Light Cathedral has completed the training of the first batch of students you sent. About twenty have passed the paladin's baptism. Now is the time for them to play a role. You must firmly grasp this opportunity!"

"Thank you, Galen." Kael'thas thanked him sincerely. The power in Silvermoon City had long been allocated. If he wanted to gain something, he could only extract it from the power held by the royal family, which wouldn't increase the royal family's power. The emergence of the Holy Knights provided an opportunity for Kael'thas.

Many High Elves believe in the Holy Light, such as the highly respected High Priest Vanderol, the Archbishop of Silvermoon City's Holy Light Cathedral, who leads the priests to remain neutral and not participate in the kingdom's power struggles.

Although the High Elves' belief in the Holy Light isn't as pure as that of humans, due to the presence of the Sunwell, the priests save lives, heal the wounded, and enjoy a great reputation among the people. If Kael'thas holds the Holy Knights, he can easily obtain Vanderol's support.

"Also, Kael, do you think two legions can resist an army of 100,000 Orcs and at least 50,000 Amani trolls?" Galen solemnly warned Kael'thas. "I think you still need to get some reinforcements from Silvermoon City! Also, have the Sun King ask the Alliance for help. Quel'Thalas can't handle this alone. Don't insist on your so-called pride!"

"I understand. The Golden Mist Village incident a few months ago greatly changed my father's thinking. He has been tougher with the council lately and isn't just blindly compromising. I believe he will ask the Alliance for help. After all, we've officially joined the Alliance!" Kael'thas said, noting that his father's tougher stance was why he had recalled his son to the kingdom.

"You'd better hurry. The Orcs will appear outside your magical barrier in five, maybe seven days at most. I don't want to be treated as an invader by your border guards when I bring troops over!" Bringing troops? That doesn't exist. If I can teleport, I'll never ride a horse. Once Kael'thas gets military transit permission, I'll teleport over immediately and avoid the fatigue of a forced march!

After ending the call with Kael'thas, Galen dialed the number one key again. This connected him with Alliance Marshal Anduin Lothar. Galen reported on the battle in the Hinterlands and informed him that the Wildhammer dwarves had agreed to join the Alliance and would soon submit the documents to Lordaeron.

He also reported the Orcs' division and northward movement. Lothar was greatly shocked. The rear had to be defended, but recently an Orcish fleet, under the cover of the red dragons, had bypassed Daelin Proudmoore's maritime defense zone and occupied Reethe Island in western Hillsbrad. Before Daelin could react, they launched a surprise landing and were now hidden in Silverpine Forest!

The kingdoms of Alterac and Gilneas were already putting pressure on Lothar. For a while, the marshal was unable to leave the south!

Besides, sending support wasn't as simple as saying so. They needed the High Elves' permission. Otherwise, if they marched in to attack the Orcs, they might next time enter another country to eliminate bandits and "incidentally" wipe out the capital.

Illegally crossing the border, especially into the High Elf kingdom—a nation known for its closed borders—was something Lothar and Galen wanted to avoid, to prevent fracturing the Alliance.

Everything depended on Kael'thas's progress.

But advance preparations were possible. In the end, Lothar decided that Galen would lead the troops north, while Turalyon would lead the Lordaeron Royal Knights and four legions to garrison Stratholme.

With these deployments completed, Galen breathed a sigh of relief. This war had progressed as he anticipated, remaining under his control. To adhere to the history he knew, he had been the mastermind behind the scenes.

Now, it was almost certain that eliminating the main Orcish force in the north would remove the Orcish threat, allowing the Alliance to counterattack in the south at any time!

The two Windrunners also seemed much more relaxed. "Thank you, Galen."
