Chapter 206 - Death Knight

The battle for Dun Modr raged from noon until dusk. Led by Varok Saurfang, the Orcs scaled the city walls three times, only to be beaten back by the defenders of the Scarlet Legion.

From his tower, Galen watched the intense battle for the city walls. He only intervened when the Scarlet Legion's infantry lines were on the verge of collapse, personally repelling the Orcs.

As for whether Orgrim suspected any trickery on Galen's part, the answer was no.

What he saw was a single legion garrisoning Dun Modr, while the other legions stood ready and waiting on the north shore of the Strait.

Galen's purpose was simple: to train his troops!

Currently, Galen had a large number of human infantry and musketeers under his command, exceeding two hundred thousand, and the number was still increasing daily. However, most of the training camps were now focused on training high-level knights, so the number of low-level troops like infantry and musketeers was not increasing as rapidly as before.

Once the numbers reached a certain threshold, Galen's thinking began to shift, and he started pursuing quality.

The Heart of Origin beneath the level three castle allowed these low-level soldiers to gain experience in battle, upgrading their strength to the peak of the intermediate level, which was sixth-order strength.

Moreover, the level three castle could be upgraded further. Currently, there were still over three hundred thousand people short of the one million population mark. He just didn't know what new things upgrading to a level four royal city would bring Galen, and he was very much looking forward to it.

Currently, the Scarlet Legion was the first to be established and had experienced the most battles, so the quality of its soldiers was also the best among the other legions. Galen planned to use this easily defended but difficult to attack Dun Modr battlefield for training.

The Orcs died and turned into experience, and his own soldiers could be resurrected after death, which roughly equaled free experience!

Nice!

He had already decided to fight Orgrim to the death here. He and Aragorn had no intention of moving. To this end, he also established a dedicated corpse collection team, which would organize the fallen soldiers every day, and he and Aragorn would take turns performing the resurrection ceremony.

Once the Scarlet Legion was fully at the sixth-order, he would have the Gale, Thunder, Water, and Silver Legions take turns guarding the city until his Five Elements Legion was maxed out.

Now, the only worry was what if the Horde couldn't hold on first? Excessive casualties and prolonged time were unacceptable to the Horde. Would Orgrim choose to advance by sea?

Galen didn't have a good solution to this, so he only arranged for one legion to garrison, a small number, just within Orgrim's acceptable range. Galen would deliberately create the illusion that each Horde attack was just a little short of success, making the Orcs unable to advance or retreat in front of the walls of Dun Modr!

After all, they weren't crabs on the West Coast that could be infinitely refreshed. Galen still valued this opportunity to farm experience, and he was curious how long this slow boiling frog method would take for Orgrim to see through.

The Orcs had occupied two-thirds of the entire Eastern Continent. The Dwarves' lands had a large number of mines and forests, and with enough Orcish laborers, it would be easy to build a large number of ships, making crossing the Bay of Baradin no problem.

The sky darkened, and the Orcs retreated!

Not only did Galen's soldiers have poor visibility in the dark, but the Orcs also had no night vision ability, and after an afternoon of intense fighting, both sides were exhausted!

Varok Saurfang was the last to leave the city walls, successfully covering the retreat of his Orcs. After breaking free from the entanglement of the Dwarven warrior Thargas, he jumped off the city walls, performing a heroic leap in mid-air, quickly leaving the range of the musketeers.

More than twenty of the three hundred cannons were destroyed, and Galen felt a little heartache. But fortunately, it was not far from Eastpoint Tower, which served as Galen's armory, and new cannons could be quickly transported by sea to replenish them.

"Clean up the walls! Hurry, hurry!"

Galen didn't have a chance to take action today. Orgrim was testing the waters, and Galen was also acting. The one who was truly fighting with his life was the only Dwarf in the entire city: Thargas Anvilmar!

A strong, middle-aged Dwarf, at his peak, desperately held back the growing Orcish high-ranking warlord, Varok Saurfang.

Galen felt a little guilty and stepped forward to hand Thargas a large bucket of strong liquor.

Glug, glug, glug!

The heroic Dwarven warrior's eyes lit up, and he didn't stand on ceremony, picking up the bucket and taking large gulps!

The Dwarves' love of alcohol was indeed well-deserved. I, Galen, have seen people drink straight from the bottle, but you're drinking straight from the bucket!

"Burp!"

"Saffron Liquor!"

"Galen! You're generous, I've made you my brother!"

Thump!

Thargas himself had been exercising intensely all afternoon, and now, after half a bucket of strong liquor, he couldn't withstand the aftereffects, and his whole body leaned back and fell to the ground unconscious, falling asleep.

"Normal people would get blurry after drinking two or three bottles. You think my alien version of 'Three Bowls and You Can't Cross the Ridge' is just something I, Galen, said casually?"

Saffron Liquor was a secret recipe that Gandalf copied from the mind of the Blackrock Depths bar owner when he infiltrated Blackrock Depths. It has brought Galen a lot of gold coin income in the past two years.

"Rudy, have someone take our Dwarven friend back to rest well! Then go see if the corpse collection team has finished their work? Have Aragorn perform the resurrection ceremony!"

"Mike, notify the north shore of the Strait to rotate the guards in one hour. Have the Tidefury Legion come over, and the Scarlet Legion return to the north shore to rest!"

Rudy and Mike had been serving as his Paladin Guard Captains for a long time, and their loyalty was extremely high. Galen was used to using them and didn't have them join the Templar Knights.

As for the Templar Knights, the team has now taken shape, but it lacks a leader, but Galen already has someone in mind.

Gavinrad the Dire!

He had been wanting to poach Lothar's talent for a day or two now. Using talent in exchange for temporary command of a knight order composed of Holy Knights, if used well, would be an invincible force. Lothar and Llane wanted to defeat the Orcs and return home to restore their country, and it would be difficult for them to refuse Galen's request.

The farmers, carrying torches, began to repair the city defenses damaged by the Orcs during the day overnight. The Tidefury Legion on the north shore gathered and prepared to break camp. After a flash of golden light in Dun Modr, the more than two thousand dead of the Scarlet Legion were resurrected in place again, and they gained a body of experience for nothing.

"What a disgusting energy!"

Gul'dan, standing far away at the alliance camp in the southeast corner of Dun Modr, looked at the human city walls. The golden, shimmering energy aura made him feel a wave of disgust.

"This is very similar to the Draenei's Holy Light, reminding me of bad memories!" Beside Gul'dan was a slightly shorter figure than him, but equally strong, wearing a mask on his face, making it impossible to see his face. He should be human.

"Teron Gorefiend, perhaps Orgrim will let you go to the battlefield tomorrow to prove your strength and loyalty. Are you ready?"

"Gul'dan, Teron Gorefiend is already dead in Orgrim's hands. Now I am called Teron Bloodfiend, the leader of the Death Knights! We will bring death to these humans!"

"We'll wait and see!"
