What unfolded before Galen's eyes was an encounter battle.
On one side of the battle was a group of Tauren, each over three meters tall. Facing them were centaurs, outnumbering the Tauren by three to one.
"First squad, raise your shields and hold the line! Hunters, fire at will! Second squad, follow me to reinforce our kin! Shamans, focus on healing!"
Galen had just found a good vantage point on a hilltop, cast Arcane Intellect on himself, and finished his stealth when he heard the booming voice of a strong Tauren commanding his forces.
The centaurs, however, were much more reckless than the Tauren. Their warlord didn't bother commanding the army, allowing the centaurs to swarm forward in a chaotic mass, each attacking the Tauren formation on their own.
This wasn't surprising. Centaurs were the product of a forbidden love, and their very existence belonged to the chaotic alignment. They had a history of patricide, which made them synonymous with chaos, stupidity, and belligerence.
The centaur race was born from the union of the demigod Cenarius's son, Zaetar, and the earth elemental princess Theradras. As a princess of earth elementals, she was a symbol of chaos, and Zaetar, as a demigod's son, only possessed a quarter of natural divine power. From a genetic standpoint, natural power couldn't suppress the chaotic power of earth elements.
The above was Galen's conjecture based on the information he knew. Of course, this assumed that Azeroth had a theoretical basis for genetics. After all, there was no reproductive isolation in Azeroth; love stories between Tauren and high elves weren't unheard of.
But I digress. After the centaur were born, their father didn't like them. He thought the centaurs didn't meet his aesthetic standards. His disgusted gaze enraged his centaur sons, and war broke out. Zaetar died.
What good reputation could a race that committed patricide have? Coupled with their inherently cruel and violent nature, they attacked the surrounding creatures, so the Tauren closest to them suffered eight lifetimes of bad luck, fighting for hundreds of years and being driven out of their ancestral homes.
The Tauren were strong and burly, each about three meters tall. The Tauren in the front row held giant shields. The Tauren responsible for attacking used giant maces and wooden totems. Each time these weapons were swung, a centaur would cough up blood and fall to the ground, then be trampled to death by their comrades' hooves.
The centaurs' main attack methods were melee combat and archery. Most of their warriors used stone axes and crude spears, with only a few high-ranking individuals using metal weapons.
There were also some spellcasters in the back row. Galen sensed the power of nature and shadow in their spells. In the distance, there were also some wandering centaur scouts and hunters, accompanied by hyenas and gnolls as animal companions.
Currently, the battle had reached a stalemate. The centaurs' inferior weapons and equipment couldn't break through the Tauren' formation, but the centaurs' large numbers meant the Tauren were unable to break out.
Galen could already see that the Tauren' situation was not optimistic. After all, they were flesh and blood. No matter how strong the Tauren were, they would eventually tire. These few hundred Tauren, facing the siege of nearly two thousand centaurs, could only fight to the death and be completely annihilated.
At this moment, Galen heard a familiar name.
"Dezco, lead two hundred brothers to break through from the rear and find Chieftain Cairne! Tell him the information here, the centaurs are attacking again!" the Tauren leader roared to a young Tauren beside him, wielding a totem pole.
"No, Father, I want to stay here and share life and death with the Skychaser tribe!" On the young Tauren's slightly purplish hide, one could vaguely see the flushed complexion caused by the surge of blood after fighting hard. His eyes were bloodshot, unwilling to break through and leave.
The Skychaser tribe was a relatively well-known tribe among the Tauren race. According to Galen's understanding, each Tauren tribe had its own characteristics. For example, the Runetotem clan produced druids, and their leader, Hamuul Runetotem, was the most famous of them.
Th skychaser tribe, how should I put it? They produced warriors, but they couldn't compare to the Bloodhoof tribe and the Ragetotem tribe. The overall strength of the tribe was estimated to barely rank in the top ten.
So where were they outstanding?
The Skychaser were a tribe that revered the sun god An'she. Later, they were able to draw strength from the sunlight and called themselves Sunwalkers. Oh! They weren't really able to walk on the sun; it was just a name.
In the game, the reason why Tauren could become paladins was because they could use this solar power, and Dezco, the future chieftain of the Skychaser tribe, was the most outstanding of them.
I didn't expect it to be them.
However, the Sunwalkers appeared after Deathwing launched the Cataclysm, when the Tauren situation was turbulent. It was the appearance of the Sunwalkers that stabilized the situation.
This was a good opportunity for him to intervene in the Tauren migration event. Galen sensed a faint light energy in the leader and Dezco's bodies, which should be the same An'she solar power as the Holy Light.
This wasn't difficult to understand. Currently, only humans had the paladin class. This class, frankly speaking, was a warrior who could use the Holy Light.
Currently, this profession was very rare, but in thirty years, there would be many races that could become paladins. In addition to humans, there were dwarves, blood elves, Tauren, Zandalari trolls, and even a night elf paladin.
The human paladins originated from their faith in the Holy Light. This Holy Light was philosophical, belonging to spiritual energy. The dwarven paladins learned from humans, so they were of the same origin.
The draenei's Holy Light came from their faith in the Holy Light beings, the Naaru's infusion. The blood elf paladins absorbed a Naaru they had captured. Finally, the Heart of the Naaru purified the Sunwell, and they could also absorb the Holy Light from the Sunwell.
There was also the Zandalari troll paladin, but they preferred to call themselves Prelates. Their Light power came from their faith in the demigod Loa. They were followers of Rezan, a direhorn that could use the Holy Light. His followers shouldn't be called paladins, but Rezan Warriors.
The above paladins were all based on the Holy Light, but the Tauren were the most different. They didn't believe in the Holy Light, nor did they absorb the Holy Light energy of other creatures. They believed in the Earth Mother. In their faith, the sun god An'she and the moon goddess Elune were both eyes of the Earth Mother. Later, the sun god cult slowly developed, and the Sunwalkers were the profession that believed in the sun god and could use solar energy.
The use of light energy was nothing more than similar to the shaman's elemental power, the druid's nature worship, and finally, pantheism to polytheism, eventually forming a religion.
However, Galen felt that although the beliefs were different, the light energy manifestations of the paladins of each race were the same. He was confident that he could guide the light energy in these Skychaser.
It's time to show some real skills!
I'll pretend to be a messenger of the Earth Mother, a favored one of An'she!
