Chapter 17 - "A Revenge Awakened, A Mother Silenced"

A storm was brewing—quietly, dangerously—in Jai's heart. The fire of revenge had consumed him, and Shivani stood at the center of his burning fury.

Back at Singhania Enterprises, the situation had turned grim. The company's shares had crashed, hitting an all-time low. With Jai's supposed illness keeping him away from business, all responsibilities had landed squarely on Aman's shoulders. Amid the chaos, Aman made a quick decision—he left for London to salvage their second branch. Before leaving, he discreetly appointed Bharat Azad to investigate Sanjana's mysterious car accident.

But behind the curtains of this corporate drama, a more sinister story was unfolding.

India – The Game Begins

As Aman boarded his flight, Jai slipped out of the house in his car. Before leaving, he strictly instructed Aman's loyal staff not to follow him—and definitely not to inform Aman. However, loyal as they were, they secretly kept Aman in the loop. Aman, unaware of the depth of Jai's deception, dismissed it. "He's just grieving," Aman had told them. "Let him breathe."

But Jai wasn't grieving.

He was plotting.

Behind the wheel, Jai muttered to himself, "I'm sorry, Aman. You're handling everything while I pretend to recover. But this… this is something I must do. Sanjana and Maa won't rest until I make Shivani pay."

His car turned sharply in the direction of Delhi University.

(Yes. Jai was perfectly healthy. His illness was nothing but a facade—an elaborate lie to remove Aman from his path. He knew Aman would never approve of what he was about to do.)

Delhi University – The Calm Before the Storm

The final exams were underway. Among the crowd of anxious students, Shivani sat at her desk, trying to concentrate. But a strange uneasiness tugged at her chest. She looked around, sensing eyes on her. Shaking it off, she focused on her paper.

She had no idea Jai had been shadowing her for days.

Back home, Abhay ji was out shopping for wedding preparations, and Asha ji was alone. After completing her household chores, she heard a knock at the door.

She opened it to find a tall, charming man standing there. He smiled respectfully and greeted her, "Namaste, Aunty."

She returned the greeting, puzzled. "Namaste, beta… but do I know you?"

With a slight smirk, he replied, "I didn't expect you to recognize me. My name is Jai… Jai Singhania."

The color drained from Asha ji's face. "Jai Singhania…?"

He nodded, his tone turning icy. "The same Jai Singhania whose wife, unborn child, and mother died because of your precious daughter."

He stepped closer, his gaze filled with cold hatred. "Tell your daughter—Shivani—that her time is up. It's time she paid for her sins."

Reeking of alcohol, he turned and walked away, stumbling slightly.

Asha ji stood frozen. Her breath quickened. Her chest tightened. Panic gripped her.

Clutching her inhaler, she moved toward the stairs, but her steps faltered. Her vision blurred. Her foot slipped.

A sharp cry—then silence.

Her head hit the marble floor with a chilling thud. Blood seeped into the cracks as her breathing slowed… then stopped.

An Hour Later – A Home in Ruins

Abhay ji returned with Aditya, laughing at something the child had said. But the open door made him pause. Instinct kicked in.

"Stay behind me, Aditya," he whispered, rushing inside.

The bags dropped from his hands as his eyes landed on Asha ji's motionless body.

"Asha!" he cried, falling to his knees. He cradled her, shaking her gently. "Asha, open your eyes. Please."

Aditya, standing nearby, stared in shock before screaming, "Maa!!"

Panic. Chaos. The world collapsing.

The doctor came quickly—but his words shattered everything.

"I'm sorry… she's gone."

Abhay ji collapsed beside her. Aditya fainted.

Later That Evening – Shivani's World Shatters

Shivani's auto stopped outside her home. The crowd, the whispers, the grief in the air—it struck her like a wave. Heart pounding, she pushed through.

One look.

One glance at the white cloth draped over the still body.

And her world ended.

"Maa!" she screamed, throwing herself over the lifeless body. Tears streamed down her face as she clutched her mother, begging her to wake up.

Abhay ji, sitting beside her, finally broke his stunned silence and looked at her with broken eyes.
