Ember had a rabid audience in the form of the inhabitants of the twelve ships that made up the Twelve Council Families. And the display by her and Vaness Ashwyck, dare one say, made for a most entertaining affair.
Although in a manner of speaking, there was hardly nothing entertaining about blood on her hands. No less the blood of a Lord on a diplomatic mission under her leadership.
She had been dealt a bad hand. Afterall, there was no faster way to take her down than by pinning a murder of all things on her head. Not to mention how many laws that broke, there was also the matter of the Ashwyck family.
And Vaness' actions hinted that she had no intention of speaking it out. Which only left one course of action for Ember, she would have to tough out this storm.
