Chapter 2 - System

"Boy, you're pretty arrogant to open a stall like this."

"Yeah, keep it up—you're going to get beaten up real soon."

Some advised sarcastically, while some gave disdainful remarks.

Who in their right mind would pay so much for something like this? Delivering a love letter was one thing… But breaking up couples? Sneaking into a girls-only club just to bring back a drink? Ridiculous.

"Hmph! If you're not buying, then scram. Let the real customers through—they'll definitely know what they want," Lin Feng snorted coldly as he looked at the crowd gathering just for fun.

Hearing his words, the onlookers couldn't help but grow furious.

It was already generous of them not to report his stall—and now he had the nerve to tell them to scram?

"I'm just providing services people clearly want. You don't have to buy it if you're broke." Lin Feng added when he saw their furious looks.

"You little—!"

"That's it! I'm reporting you to the market guards!" One of the old men shouted.

"Yeah, let the guards shut this disgrace down!"

The group stomped off angrily as they went to report.

A few minutes later, two market guards arrived, only to find Lin Feng sitting meekly, looking innocent and wronged.

While the crowd was dumbfounded when they saw the signboard with Item Appraisal—100 yuan, Memorial Calligraphy Scroll—300 yuan, and Nine-Character Fortune Scroll—1,000 yuan.

"Uncles, I'm just a student earning money through traditional skills, but they called me a scammer…" Lin Feng said helplessly, playing the victim card.

The crowd: "???"

The guards: "…Looks fine to us."

"T-this, I swear he is lying!"

"Yes, the signboard was different before!"

Some dumbfounded onlookers said. In response, Lin Feng emptied his bag and even asked the guards to check him to prove his innocence.

With such a big commotion, many people gathered, and after learning someone had wrongly reported an innocent boy, they started to badmouth the one who went to report, while praising Lin Feng for being filial, as he was earning money for his sick grandfather's medicine, who didn't have much time left.

A pity that Lin Feng's grandfather did not know what he was doing; if not, he would kick his ass again.

"Even with so much drama, I only earned one thousand and four hundred yuan," Lin Feng sighed as he saw the new signboard wasn't attracting much attention.

Although his skills were real, who would believe a seventeen-year-old boy?

Thinking about this, he decided to try something else.

However, just as he was about to close the stall, a beautiful woman with a rich aura stopped in front of him, her pretty eyes fixed on the signboard.

Lin Feng was a little stunned by her arrival because this was an antique market where only old people visited, making it rare to see any young man or woman—unless they were trying to scam or earn money through luck.

"Is that Nine-Character Fortune Scroll just a writing or a charm?" the pretty woman inquired, her voice soft and sweet.

"It's a charm, but I don't guarantee any effects," Lin Feng replied.

All of his skills were taught by his grandfather. As for whether they really worked or not, he didn't know.

"I see… okay, give me—um—four… no, five. Give me five of those scrolls," the young woman said as she took out a stash of red papers, which were difficult to find thousand-yuan bills!

These bills were extremely rare and unless someone was a big shot or connected to a bank official, it was hard to get their hands on even one bill. Yet this young woman in front of him held about fifty of them in her purse! It was clear her background was unfathomable.

"Miss, I said these charms might not work," Lin Feng reminded her with a serious look.

Although he was happy to get money from her, he didn't want to get into any trouble—if he did, his grandfather would kick his ass again.

"Ohh, you're really honest for someone who just scammed a few old guys earlier," the young woman chuckled faintly.

"When did I scam anyone? I was just putting on an act to gain attention—after that, it was their decision to purchase what I was selling," Lin Feng shrugged his shoulders with an innocent look.

Watching him like this, the young woman rolled her eyes.

"Five scrolls—wrap it nicely," she stated without any further nonsense.

"Okay, wait a little." Lin Feng did not continue to advise and pulled out five fresh red papers, a calligraphy brush, and ink from his bag.

The young woman was stunned at this because she believed the scrolls were already made. Now she regretted purchasing the scrolls without taking a look; however, she did not stop him since five thousand yuan was not too much for her.

'Hmm?' Suddenly her pupils narrowed, and her gaze became fixed on the red paper.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Lin Feng's hand moved with rhythm, writing every stroke with precision and confidence. Then, to add more charm to it, the nine characters became ancient and laced with a mysterious aura.

"Your calligraphy is really good," the young woman muttered as he finished the five scrolls. Her previous regret disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"I told you I am not a scammer. Just poor," Lin Feng said, handing over the finished scrolls.

"Poor but talented—that's even more dangerous than a scammer." The young woman chuckled as she took the scrolls and handed the five crisp bills.

"Oh, by the way... if any of these scrolls actually work, I'll come find you again."

"To thank me?"

"No, to hire you," The young woman said with a sly smile and before Lin Feng could say something, she walked off into the crowd.

"Grandpa I hope you taught me fake skills," Lin Feng prayed to himself, after which he did not hesitate and closed the stall.

[Congratulations to the host for fulfilling the condition of system activation.]

[The system is loading: 10% 30% 60% 100%]

[Ding! I'm Rich, I'm God is now online.]

A cold mechanical voice echoed in Lin Feng's head as several holographic panels appeared before him.

They displayed statistics, a shop, a lottery wheel, and other unfamiliar icons, which were gray.

Lin Feng did not waste any time and opened the statistics panel first.

[Name: Lin Feng]

[Age: 17]

[Wealth: 1,400 yuan]

[God Coins: 1,000 coins]

[Skills: None]

[Beginner Guide…]

[System Introduction: I'm Rich, I'm God System – the only system that respects cash flow over everything!]

[System Functions Unlocked:]

"Is this really a system? Then why is it mocking me so much?" Lin Feng rolled his eyes.

[Because I can mock you.]

The system responded.

Lin Feng did not bother to say anything and took a deep breath to calm his restless heart. After which he opened the God Shop directly.

[Limited Edition Business Outfit – 15,000 God Coins]

[Driving Skills (Below Average) – 15,000 God Coins]

[Fake Elite Background Certificate – 80,000 God Coins]

[Perfect Physique (Average) – 100,000 God Coins]

[Intelligence Boost (Permanent – Above Average) – 500,000 God Coins]

[Medical Skills (Excellent) – 1 million God Coins]

The list continued with various items and shocking costs.

"I am really poor, ain't I?" Lin Feng sighed.

[Oh, you finally realized your worth. Congratulations from me in a poor way.]

The system mocked again, making Lin Feng's face twitch with irritation. However, he once again ignored it and switched to different panels.

In the mission board, there were normal missions such as running a hundred kilometers, studying for five hours and a few more within his ability. It's just the God Coins he can earn through this that are just five or ten. If he wanted to earn a lot, then he had to wait for special missions triggered by the system, which could reward him with hundreds of thousands and even millions.

Next came the investment panel and as the system said, he can invest in a company or a person to earn God Coins passively. However, he will only earn if the person or company is profiting; if not, he will lose. Furthermore, not every company or person can be invested in, such as criminals and the companies that harm human lives were a no-go.

Now came the lottery wheel, almost identical to the ones found in arcade games—the bigger the reward, the smaller the slot, and the slimmer the chances of hitting it.
