Chapter 79 - Which of the Following Characters Cannot Lift Mjolnir?

"No! How could this be! Impossible!"

Thor was deeply shaken, shaking his head repeatedly and shouting incessantly. He really did seem like a madman at this moment.

The poor God of Thunder truly couldn't accept it.

He was the God of Thunder!

He could barely accept being stripped of his divine power and unable to lift the hammer; after all, the hammer was a divine artifact.

But for a Midgardian mortal to lift it while he couldn't... what was the meaning of this?

Thor's heart simply couldn't bear it.

"Steve, give me back the hammer. There must be some mistake. You were able to lift it, there's no reason I shouldn't be able to!"

Thor, agitated, approached Captain America and gestured towards him.

Captain America then handed the hammer to Thor.

Thud!

An embarrassing situation unfolded. The moment Captain America let go, the hammer slammed heavily onto the ground.

Thor stumbled, nearly being pulled down by the hammer.

He then used all his strength, trying from various angles and in different positions to desperately "pull" Mjolnir. However, he ended up exhausted and panting, unable to budge the hammer even a little.

"No!"

Deeply disheartened, Thor dropped to his knees, raised his hands, and looked up at the sky, shouting out loud.

That pose... It was giving off serious vibes of Yuan Hua failing a test.

"Why, Father!"

"Why!"

Thor roared again and again.

"Thor, we can figure out why you can't lift the hammer later, but for now, let's get out of here," Nick Fury said seriously to Thor.

Then, he gestured to Captain America, "Captain, put the hammer away."

Captain America didn't say much. With a simple reach, he effortlessly picked up Mjolnir, looking completely unfazed.

"Looking at it like this, I think the Captain and the hammer are a perfect match," Coulson quietly muttered to the side.

Fortunately, the God of Thunder was currently dejected and mentally unstable, so he didn't notice Coulson's words. Otherwise, it would have been a direct blow to his psyche.

"This isn't scientific. Why can he lift it, and I can't?"

Iron Man stood to the side, looking very unconvinced. "Could it be because Captain America is a super soldier?"

"Stark, why are you so down? It's not your hammer. He's the one who should be bummed out," Black Widow glanced at the big oaf kneeling on the ground.

"Thor, come with us back to S.H.I.E.L.D. for now. You can try again later, as many times as you want. But for now, pull yourself together."

Nick Fury walked over to Thor again and helped him up from the ground.

"Thank you, Nick Fury. You're a good man," Thor said sincerely, gazing at Nick Fury with gratitude.

[New round of questions begins. Please prepare, all participants.]

Just as everyone was about to leave, a synthesized electronic voice suddenly blared out.

At the same time, a high-tech, fluorescent screen abruptly appeared before everyone's eyes.

Not only that, but the many S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel present, as well as the numerous townspeople who were watching from outside the cordon, all froze in place.

"What's going on?" Thor was a little bewildered. He glanced around the scene blankly, starting to realize something. "Loki, is that you?"

Who else could possibly do all this, except for Loki, who was proficient in magic?

Was Loki here to find him? A hint of joy appeared on Thor's face.

"Thor, this has nothing to do with Loki. I can only solemnly remind you to answer the questions properly next." Nick Fury sternly reminded Thor. "Perhaps you'll have unexpected gains."

"Answer questions? What questions?" Thor was still completely bewildered.

"Simply put, this large screen is actually a Question System. It's going to randomly release some questions."

"But those questions are just a formality. The Question System's real goal might be to give us some information about the future through those questions."

Iron Man explained to Thor concisely.

"Predict the future? Impossible!" Thor couldn't help but shake his head. "Even someone as great as my father can only vaguely see some fragments of the future!"

"Perhaps your father isn't the greatest being in this universe," Iron Man shrugged.

"How dare you belittle my father?" Thor was a bit angry, glaring at Iron Man and growling.

"I'm just stating a fact," Iron Man remained unfazed by Thor's anger, still looking calm.

"Thor, the Question System can not only predict the future but also give related punishments and rewards to the person answering the questions. So Nick Fury is right, you need to answer the questions carefully and meticulously."

"Trust me, it won't hurt you," Black Widow also chimed in, trying to reassure Thor.

"Alright, everyone, let's quiet down. The questions are about to start," Captain America said in a low voice, glancing around at everyone.

He noticed there were quite a few people participating this time.

Besides Nick Fury and Tony Stark, who had joined him in the previous round, there were two other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents: Black Widow and Coulson.

Plus the God of Thunder, who had just arrived on Earth.

There were a total of six people.

And out of these six, except for Thor, the God of Thunder, the other five were not participating in the quiz for the first time.

Therefore, everyone appeared calm, even wearing expressions of anticipation.

Only Thor looked uncertain, a mix of surprise and doubt on his face.

Thor saw that everyone seemed to highly regard this Question System. Although he didn't completely believe the claims of predicting the future, he was also extremely curious about it.

He wanted to see exactly what this Question System was all about.

[Please listen to the question: Among the following individuals, who cannot lift Mjolnir?]

[A. Odin, the Allfather]

[B. Hela, the Goddess of Death]

[C. Hulk]

[D, Vision]

[Friendly Reminder: Those who answer correctly will receive the Single-Tomoe Sharingan; Those who answer incorrectly will have a random attribute deducted, including but not limited to knowledge, experience, skills, possessions, etc…]

"This is what you call a Question System? This is ridiculous!"

Thor couldn't help but point at the Question System and shout. Luckily, it was just a screen and not a person, otherwise, Thor might've thrown a punch.

What the hell was it talking about? Mjolnir was his, Thor's, exclusive divine weapon. Besides him, Thor, well, and his father, Odin, who else could possibly wield it? But this question clearly implied that besides him and Odin, there were two other people who could lift Mjolnir! Not to mention the fact that Steve Rogers had just lifted Mjolnir right in front of him! What a joke!
