Chapter 3 - An Asshole Called Boss

This was horrible. My whole body felt like it had been hit by a hard object, and I couldn't move. There was pain in my core, but if I may say so, it was delicious. However, not with the sense of destruction I felt.

Unfortunately, the events in my dream differed from what was happening now. A man was on top of me, moving his hips rhythmically, and when I woke up, it wasn't Gerald, my fiancé, but someone else. Strange, that was how I felt. As bad as it was that this meant I had lost my virginity to another man, no longer being in that horrible dreamland, it felt so much better.

I gripped the sheets tightly as his movements quickened, and my entire nervous system began to respond to the pain in different ways. There was an intense throbbing down there, accompanied by a sense of wonder I had never felt before. Was this what Gerald wanted sex from me so badly because it was so intoxicating, and I almost lost my mind?

But wait! Why was I in this place? Who was this man, and what had happened to put me in a strange room with a strange man?

"Aw!" I screeched, trying to move my body after several hours away from consciousness. I had probably been drinking, and... here I was. This was bad! If Gerald found out, he could end our relationship.

I turned my head towards the man who looked so peaceful, sleeping facing me, and I tried to recognize the perfectly sculpted face that had been fucking me unknowingly. He was probably also under the influence of alcohol—I could see the tie still hanging around his neck—making him look so dumbass—while his shirt and after coat were scattered on the floor.

Having managed to gather my wits, I grabbed my clothes and hurried away without checking anything. According to my guess, last night was a welcoming night for the new boss, and today, we were going to get to know him because, reportedly, he was going to choose one employee to be his personal assistant. I hope it wasn't me.

Arrived at the office, I checked my watch, and it was still the same as a few days ago. It was nine o'clock, and I was already at my desk with a cup of coffee, ready with the files I needed to work on. However, several pairs of eyes were looking at me with strange looks.

"Y-you... are you Shenna?" asked one of the employees who kept looking at me even from a close distance as if to check out something. "If I look at the hair and iris color, you are Shenna, but..."

What? What happened that everyone was looking at me strangely?

I grabbed a mirror from inside my bag and looked at my face, which probably did look strange. Sure enough, the mirror almost slipped from my hand and fell over. Something was different about my face, but what? I was still an albino. My skin, hair, and iris color remained the same. However, there was one color that was one different color—the eyebrows. How come–?

"I-I used an eyebrow pencil to daub them. Is it weird?" I asked, but soon she laughed awkwardly. I didn't even know if I really was using it, but it was what it was.

"I'm sorry if I confused you. You look different, and I think that's for the better. So, it's not that you're not pretty, Shenna; it's that you've never given it another touch," she said, which she later corrected. "I mean, not that it's bad to be an albino, but–"

"I know," I replied, flashing a smile, touched by her words. It was the first time someone cared about my feelings, and I felt so awkward just because she thought she might be misspoken. "I'm used to this. Fat and albino. It's nothing bad. It's just that I should probably learn how to apply makeup. Right?"

She nodded with an embarrassed grin and then reached out to introduce herself. I already knew her; it was just that we never exchanged greetings because I was too shy to start first. She would probably feel uncomfortable around a strange human like me, I thought, just like my friends at school back in the day.

"I'm Tabitha, by the way. It's so nice to talk to you, Shenna. You're not what people talk about. They just look down on you without getting to know you," she said, which I took as too much information and was glad to hear. "Ah, there's our new boss. He will definitely announce who his personal assistant will be. Hopefully, it will be you. Because if it's not you, then no one else will be. You're the best employee so far."

I didn't respond to this one because after turning around and confirming who would lead our law firm after Mr. Levy, my jaw almost dropped, as did my eyeballs. And I guessed this man felt the same way.

I contacted Gerald like a hundred times, but he didn't respond. I didn't know what happened to him, but I needed an explanation. The last incident I remember was that I went back to the orphanage, then visited him at the pack house, but what I found was that he fucked a woman who... I thought I recognized, but I didn't know where I met her.

However, according to my common sense, Gerald would never do that. So I concluded that the part where he cheated on me and then rapped and killed me along with Dexton was a dream. I'd probably been at the welcome party at the time and downed some unregulated alcohol, only to land in a strange room with a strange man who turned out to be my new boss.

Another unpleasant piece of news was that he'd chosen me as the only candidate to be his personal assistant; I never knew what my duties would be.

Did being a personal assistant mean I would be with him all day, including making love?

Shit! How dirty my mind was thinking of such vulgar things. Even though there had been sexual action between myself and the boss, but still, it would never be justifiable if I wanted more.

"Why have you been silent since earlier? You should go back to the room we've prepared for you and do all the tasks I've given you," the man said, sounding cold and as if nothing had ever happened between us. "What are you waiting for?"

Should I ask? I should. That would be so embarrassing. I was probably just dreaming like I had been before I woke up in a strange room and realized this man was fucking me—dreaming of Gerald's infidelity.

I turned around without speaking, but he interrupted me with a single sentence that made my hair stand on end between confusion and disbelief. He spoke in his deep, heavy, baritone voice at a very low volume, and hearing that, my mind drifted back to ten years ago when a man whom I knew as Gerald had saved me from bullies. The words he spoke, however, made me feel worthless in that instant.

"About last night, don't ever bring it up and don't let anyone know. That was a mistake. There's no way I'm in a relationship with an employee who's an omega and..." He didn't continue but instead diverted it with another sentence. "... and if something happens, you get pregnant, let's say so. I'll give you whatever you need to abort it."

Asshole! Why did I have to meet so many assholes in this world? However, at least from here, I knew Gerald was the only good man I'd ever known. Or maybe I just didn't realize what was going on right now to think that.
