Chapter 2 - The Upheavals of the Happy Days 2

Saying those words, Esther gave me a necklace. "Take this necklace, let it be a reminder of me every time you wear it, every time you look at it." She said, staring into my eyes

"I know it does not look valuable, but to me it is the most valuable thing I ever owned," she continued.

"Then why are you giving it to me?" I asked,

"Because you are the most valuable person in my life." She hugged me.

"I will miss you, Evie," she cried, "I will miss you too, Esther." I replied, then hugged her.

I watched her leave feeling a little sad, but I was still confused. Why would she give me something this valuable to her? Nevertheless I am very grateful for her gesture.

Friday was more tiring than any other day this week. I spent the whole day revising all that I already learned. Miss du Blanc had the goal of reminding me all that I could have forgotten. Revising my writing skills, also revising language étiquette, table etiquettes; eating properly, walking elegantly, giving proper greetings to the corresponding person. All that I had already done for the past 10 years, gosh I was exhausted.

Here we are, it is Saturday, the day of coronation. "Your Majesty you are running late" said Miss du Blanc. Her impertinence is as irritating as ever. I love Miss du Blanc therefore I can only turn a blind eye on her behavior. She wants the best for me after all. The maid servant helped me put on my gown, heels, and jewels. Miss du Blanc and my mother did my hair. Then it was time to go, I was getting nervous. I was slowly accepting this crown, however I could still not comprehend why I was getting crowded with my parents alive. That is not how the story is supposed to go. I don't wish any harm to my parents, but could not understand the logic behind my coronation.

We arrived at the ballroom portcullis "The queen and the princess Evelyne." introduced the butler. The portcullis opened and I along with my mother and Miss du Blanc entered the ball room. walking towards the throne altar, my heart raced. I looked at Miss du Blanc, she looked back at me smiling. She stopped at the altar's stair, letting me and mother go up alone. My father was standing next to the throne, a butler holding the crown stood next to him on his left.
