Chapter 4 - Past Can Never Be Ignored

Emris' face got pale, eyes widened up with a terrifying mix of fear and apprehension as he witnessed the scene. The scene was intense for him because, his poor friend who's falling for the same girl again.

His tongue trembled from asking, but he gained a bit of courage to do so. Aidan's face showed pleasure and delight, but he couldn't bear that.

The word "Aidan" stammered out in a shaky voice that cut his vision off her.

"Do you know her?" Still, his tongue hesitated.

Aidan turned his face towards him, facing the frightened face of his friend.

His pleasurable expressions turned down slowly and the wide smile that his face was showing went back as he faced him. His friend's face was just showing disappointment, the expression of guilt for him.

"No, I don't know her! But she's pretty." "Don't you think?" he shrugged.

Emris gasped.

"Ahh… I'm not going to hand it over." The girl who was hanging from the tree shouted.

"Emmy! Just give it to me." "I will not spare you," she yelled after chasing her.

Aidan's eyes again shifted from his dark expressions towards the chilly, laughing, shrill of a girl. Seeing her shout with joy, his eyes welled up.

"Viviana! It's mine now." She shouted in joy.

"Hey! Come back". she yelled when her friend kept running, but she tried chasing her.

Emmy ran, but she tripped and fell in front of Aidan unconsciously. She raised her gaze up and her face lost expression, and all the joy went out.

Give it. Give it to me, Emmy…

Emmy was shocked by the sight of him that she couldn't move, bringing Viviana to a standstill. And she snatched that box from her, laughingly. Emmy was puzzled by why Viviana wasn't losing her goosebumps, but her eyes finally locked with Aidan's.

Her laugh vanished, her chilly expressions went blank, and she showed some kind of embracement on her face. Aidan's eyes locked on her face for a moment, but her expression somehow felt like she knew him entirely, but was hiding her genuine emotions.

Emris was anxious. Everyone was shocked.

Aidan got a bit of a smile at the same time as her friend Emmy got on her feet, and she watched him smiling while dilating his eyes. Viviana gripped her hand and rushed away.

He was still rigid in his position. That was the first time in his life when he faced her too close.

The guard whistled, holding the torchlight. Both loose expressions and ran from there.

"Who is there?" The guard asked casually while holding the torch in his hand, but they both ran towards the hostel building.

In the morning,

Everyone was practicing their strokes, but Aidan and Emris were running laps in the lane as a punishment; their breaths were heavy.

"Hey Aidan, it's not too hard," Emris said, while gasping hardly. "We didn't even drink properly last night eh?"

He chuckled at that while panting.

"Hey dude! "Yesterday, Ah, that girl." He pointed out disgustingly.

Aidan's eyes sparkled. And his feet got slow.

"Hey pal!" "You know, I saw her in my dream, and it was like a miracle to me." The words were flipping out of his mouth in excitement. "I don't know her, but she is literally something to me. I want to know who she is, actually but I can't take my eyes off from her."

Suddenly, both heard the unbearable sound of a whistle. "You have to complete the two miles in at least half an hour. Pick up your speed, boys." The coach shouted from behind.

Emris gasped.

Staring at his expressions made him feel more disgusted.

"She is not your cup of tea, Aidan!"

He stopped muttering.

"Why!? You mean I don't deserve her?" He lost his breath.

His friend gained speed.

Aidan frowned. "I just want to know who is she, actually." He added and gained a little speed to capture him.

In the room,

Emmy and Bella were putting a mask on their faces. Suddenly, the door opened up and Viviana entered.

"Hey girl, let's come and put it on your face too," Bella ordered.

"I'm going to sleep, sorry."

Emmy noticed her dark, wet eyes.
